People are loosing their minds during this pandemic I agree with it, the cops are killing innocent people Breonna Taylor and recently George Floyd cases are prime example. Taylor was shot multiple times and George was pinned down by a cop and died and these were not criminals and these sort of news are coming out which is depressing in a situation like these. Rumors and other controversial stuffs are not that bad but the mental health issues are a major concern.

Hahahaha Did he mentioned or felt disgusting with other stuff too like; How umpires gave crucial decisions in favor of his team when he was at the crease -during the World Cup final and The Ashes- Where he won the iconic test match for his team? As PIG-3 would say it was more about securing place for England, no one care for Pakistani team and clearly not Indian team and about Dhoni, well that's how he play "Taking Deep " lol. He won many games for India with same strategy and cost some critical games, arguably recent WC as well. like i always say "Its part of the package" no one can do much about it. I believe Dhoni lost millions of Pakistani fans that day but its good thing because now Pakistan team or fans clearly understand that if they want to win the World Cup or finish any job ever again then they need to focus on hard work and get your shit together. Luck and neighbors are not their best allies and luck definitely not going to help them every time.

Oh come on, It's not India, Kiwis were the one who wantonly kept Pak from entering the semifinals After India lost to ENG, ENG were having 10 points and had to face NZ who were at 11 points. In that match, Kiwis intentionally lost the match by 119 runs. They didn't put up any fight as they did in the finals, this resulted in Pak to be eliminated. Now tell me who kept Pak out? India or NZ?

PCB is a complete package of disaster for the team right now. I don't see Pakistani team getting any good improvement anytime soon. Have you looked at the category A of the recently made central contract? Not a single good player. This team is done for; Misbah was never a good cricketer; he is never going to be a good coach either. This team is going to remain in ruins even though the nation's prime minister used to be a cricketer.

I didn't get the chance to check out the national contract list yet (plz send me link) but i agree PCB is in deep mess due to petty politics and no one wants to select team on merits. I can understand why Pakistan don't like him in coach/selector role but i never understood why so much hate for cricketer Misbah? he was pretty good batsman and still very respectable around the world especially among the Test fraternity. Immi's plate is already filled with other challenges, let him concentrate on more important issues.

Category A
1. Azhar Ali (Central Punjab)
2. Babar Azam (Central Punjab/Karachi Kings)
3. Shaheen Shah Afridi (Northern/Lahore Qalandars). OK, I must admit I totally forgot Babar Azam when I said not a single good player. Except for him, this team has no excellent player. About Misbah, I've hated him all my life. As a captain, he brought the sense of took-took in the whole team. As a coach, he's unable to bring the much-needed aggressiveness in the performance of the team. It was his extremely good luck that he (and the team) performed good in the last couple of test series that he played as the captain.

I enjoyed the way Misbah ul Haq played, he used to start really slow and then explode in the end and i still remember the way in which he took Pakistan till the final in the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 and he fought till the end and it was a display of heart and courage when there was no support from the rest of the team members and during his reign as captain the entire team was struggling and he was the sole player staying till the end.

India lost that match intentionally to keep Pakistan out and play against the Kiwis in the semi-finals.
Shahid Afridi and Gautam Gambhir had some heated arguments Kapil Dev and Gavaskar going against Shoaib Akhtar for proposing a friendly match Chris Gayle going wild against Ramnaresh Sarwan. Afridi VS Gambhir. One has political ambitions and the other is already into politics. They need some issue to always remain in the limelight. The best issue is to talk about India and Pakistan. Kapil-Gavaskar VS Akhtar. When the world is in crisis, Akhtar comes out with a solution let's play cricket what else do you need only Cricket can resolve this humanity crisis..LOL Gayle VS SarwanGayle has nothing to complain he is more successful than Sarwan but he also need to be in the news to earn money when he is not playing. Cricket is no more a gentleman's game.

More and more money they keep making via IPL and then through brand endorsement, attending different events and they charge for it etc. Through cricket they open the different revenue sources as well. Hope in all other streams as well it also becomes this way.

Whatever the purpose, the real issue is whether we can enjoy it or not. Look we watch sports cause we enjoy it, we want to enjoy our leisure time. But now some players are getting involved in arguments among themselves, which is never desirable for a cricketer. I expect cricketers will be more restrained in the future and not get involved in arguments, as a cricket fan. I don't want to hear that people says " cricket is no more a gentleman's game."

I expect cricketers will be more restrained in the future and not get involved in arguments, as a cricket fan. Money is the important factor and with the increase in money we have more matches to bulk up the revenue, we might not get leisure time for a game of cricket because of the time period and glad that T20 was introduced. Arguments is having because there is nothing much to do as everything is sitting at home and they need some entertainment and they are doing that by posting their thoughts on social media . When they are playing they do not have free time as they are mostly in the team atmosphere and when they have a rest period they usually spent time with their family and usually we used to hear from them after retirement and the COVID situation changed that . I don't want to hear that people says " cricket is no more a gentleman's game." I really do not understand why everyone is crying about gentleman's game, every sport is supposed to be played according to the rule book and what is special about these phrase .

Afridi VS Gambhir Kapil-Gavaskar VS Akhtar Afridi was taking a dig at Gambhir while promoting his book and they started battling out in social media. In the situation with Akhtar he is having a youtube channel and he suggested a India Pakistan series and Kapil and Gavaskar jumped on it and he now has more contents to release in his channel . Gayle VS Sarwan Gayle has nothing to complain he is more successful than Sarwan but he also need to be in the news to earn money when he is not playing. I thought it was unwarranted to publicly come out rather than settling inside closed doors if they had an issue with each other. Cricket is no more a gentleman's game. To be frank cricket was never a gentleman's game and i have seen many claiming this here and hence thought of responding now. Historically it was played by the rich and it has a feudalistic history, the same with golf as you need huge property to play the game and when international cricket started it was always a battle for supremacy for centuries and now it is the battle of economics. The word gentleman game has its roots here List of Gentlemen v Players matches ironically gentleman won the first two matches and the term might have stuck after that. I really do not understand why everyone is crying about gentleman's game, every sport is supposed to be played according to the rule book and what is special about these phrase . As i mentioned above it is nothing but history. Hope this clears everything. A brief history of cricket by cricinfo. So all the debates about a gentleman's game will end here. Fun fact: First international match was played between USA and Canada and now they are the minnows in the cricketing world .

@JSRAW I love how the media suddenly gives credit to Ben Stokes words,
Sports journalism already ran out of juice in pandemic and Ben stokes's new book is breather for them so they picked out one line which mentioned Dhoni in hope of cheap clicks, i don't blame them as everyone experiencing some sort of challenge these days. About this "took-took" argument, in that sense Dravid and Pujara are useless too? I am Test cricket fan so respectfully disagree Pakistan need some Took-Took batter in Test cricket if they want to taste any sort of success.

There is no quickfix solution for the issues faced by the PCB. They date back to at least two decades. No other team wanted to tour Pakistan during this period, because of security risks. As a result PCB was forced to stage the matches in UAE, and as a result of that they lost a large part of the revenue. As the PCB was running short of funds, the domestic cricket suffered. The quality of the domestic competition went down, and it stopped producing quality younger players. Now we have some good signs, after the successful tours by teams such as Sri Lanka and the highly successful PSL. But when everything was looking good, the COVID 19 pandemic struck.

Many people thought the same about MSD's knock during that time just like Stokes. I still remember the commentators getting baffled since they had no idea why MSD was playing so slowly. However, even if he played like a superhero that day, their chances of winning were quite low. As you said, MSD can't always save the team and the same happened in the semi-final.

^^^ ROFLMAO. Sanjeev Chawla is desperately trying to remain in media limelight. Match fixing is very rare nowadays, when compared to the situation we had 1-2 decades ago. Now the players are getting millions of USD in salary, and very few would take the risk of ruining their career by colluding with the gamblers. Those days are long gone. Chawla is trying to stay out of jail, and we don't need to take his words seriously.
