T10 is not the real game of cricket because you hardy can do in that number of overs and also not every player will get a chance to show their skills too. T20 is something which is more or less the perfect shorter game and anything shorter would not be real entertaining as well. Also consider that crowd which comes to watch from various cities in the stadium in traffic may take much longer to and for distance than just to watch T10 match in stadium. So this would not be the real incentive for them too.
The shorter the game the more excitement it will generate. People were saying the same when about T20 when it was introduced and now everyone prefers watching T20 than any other form of cricket. In my opinion it will be great for us to see International players playing this T10 in a ICC tournament.

T20 is optimal in every department in my opinion. However, punters will suffer since this format is truly unpredictable down to the last ball whereas ODI and test matches are predictable to a much larger extent.
From an entertainment standpoint, T10 is way too short which is why I consider T20 optimal. From a betting standpoint, ODI and test formats are the way to go.
It all comes down to what majority of the fans prefer at the end of the day and entertainment is most likely the answer.

^^ What if T-10 or more precisely "The Hundred Ball" format is the future for worldwide adoption? It takes less time and again unpredictable, what if "The Hundred Ball " witness any sort of success in the England and followed by entry in the Olympics?

I don't think two almost identical formats (t10 and t20) can co-exists and have same interest in the game. If this got popularity, do you think we will have two world cups every year one or two, one for T20 and other for T10

As people got the results and excitement in those 3 hours so for them waiting for test match where every ball has to be played as per its merit people got bored and cannot wait for it. So test match are being avoided by people and T20 and ODI still is the best for them. T10 may or may not be that successful as T20. I raised this point that if T10 becomes popular, the T20 matches will be less just like after the introduction of T20 and ODI, we don't see test matches that often. But it depends if it will be popular or not in the coming months. Also, not to mention that T6 Super sixes tournament was also held every year in Hong kong but it failed to gain any international attention.

T6 super sides did not generate any response as in my opinion you need minimum 10 overs to get a decent score on the board.

I guess there was a T10 tournament in UAE last year and it wasn't so excited and entertaining at all; beginning of t20 was far better excited and entertaining. Chances of t10 getting popular is too low as the competition won't be existed anymore in the match. Most of them will be unbalanced; one-sided.

The reason why many feel that T20 and other shorter formats interesting is that even a mediocre team can give a tough fight against a strong team as the overs are limited. So almost all the matches are more or less interesting when it comes to shorter formats. so yeah the main focus of the Boards will be on shorter formats. But if the same mediocre team goes against a strong team in ODI/Test, it will be one-sided and a bit boring. But if the team are evenly matched in ODIs/Tests, then it will be an absolute delight to watch.

I personally feeling currently twenty/20 is really best entertainment for cricket lovers and if someone feeling Ten/10 league or 100 Balls can replace then surely its very difficult because in these formats you are not going to have any serious entertainment its just blast which is not good but few boards are trying for different experiments then surely its their right and can carry on hopefully we all will be able to watch this all then able to talk about this all.

Cricket never can be a full-of-rush kind of game. If you start finding boring then you may get yourself bored even with super-over finish up. Just remember there are people who still love test cricket. The real excitement of watching cricket is not only in sixes and fours but how a batsmen/bowlers adopts themselves in one particular day and how they perform. This way I have enjoyed lots of times with low score matches. In my opinion, cricket is all about temperament and level of passion. Because, you do not need to hit bounties on all six balls of an over but just taking singles and waiting for a loose ball to hit a bounty is more than enough to win a match and to entertain the spectators. T20s may kill the essence of cricket but boards still prefer playing test matches in more numbers. We cannot predict the future who knows, by 2050 people might be playing only five/5 as they may not have time to play/watch cricket for continuous 3/4 hours.

Exactly hardly I had heard about it that time of T10 and did not even seen people speaking much about it. This itself show the engagement with people is not much as compared to T20. Also if you want to enjoy a game with some skills to be visible by batsman and blowers you require some overs so that they can bowl and bat . Did you watch that tournament? If you have not then you should once. Here is the link to final match https://youtu.be/v7riLd45OZAIt was played between Maratha Arabian and Deccan Gladiator. I enjoyed it so did others considering the view counts on YouTube and the number of subscribers they have from just one tournament.

I don't think T-20's are destroying the essence of Cricket. Instead, it is the reverse. The T-20 format reignited my love for Cricket just like majority of the Cricket fans out there. Tests and ODIs are very boring these days though they still have a niche. If it were up to me, I would reorganize the yearly schedule as 80% T-20 matches and 20% ODI and Tests. Entertainment wise, T-20 Cricket is heads and tails better than the rest.

I watched some of the T10 matches, and I would somewhat agree with you. It was not as exciting as some of the other franchise cricket leagues. But there were multiple reasons for that. First of all, the teams were not linked to various geographies. For example, the Maratha Arabians didn't had any Maharashtra players and the Deccan Gladiators didn't had any players from Hyderabad. On top of that the format itself was flawed. You are giving just 60 overs to 11 batsmen. Obviously the batsmen would be trying to clear the stands all the time, and there is no scope for other shots such as straight drive or cover drive.

If this got popularity, do you think we will have two world cups every year one or two, one for T20 and other for T10 I do not think they will scrap T20 even if T10 or Hundred catches fans attention but it might hurt the ODI and Test format without a doubt. If cricket has more formats then it is well and fine as we might see more tournaments and club cricket might catch up in the future which is really lacking in the grand scale like we see in Football and for the sport to get popular among new fans they need to restrict the time duration and only time will tell whether it will bring any new fans to cricket. These formats will have an impact on the quality of players they produce and we might end up with a situation where it is hard to produce any solid players with good defense who could play Test cricket. Anyone who played cricket could relate to the 10 to 15 overs cricket matches in the backyard or in school and college tournaments as well as club tournaments and during my playing days i was really good at these short formats but i was well aware i was not good enough to play Test cricket or ODI because i lack the stamina or the patience to score slowly and now with these short formats and i am sure you could find millions of players who are really good at these short formats.

On the other hand, T20 fans are mostly youth, and they may shift to another format if they find it more interesting. All that said, the first group is getting smaller with every passing year and within a few decades there will be near-zero interest in test cricket. Actually it is nature's rule. If a sport or a particular format is unable to attract fans, it will die out. If the ICC can't make test cricket more interesting, then the prospect of its future survival looks bleak.

For sure cricket is the second most popular sports in the world and 30% of the world population is located in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri lanka . Global is global at the end of the day(Doesn't matter if it's 1st world or 3rd world countries). There is a reason why Cricket has been listed as the 2nd most popular sport on Wikipedia. There is huge difference in meaning, global and popular are entirely different. No question about the popularity among the huge population in a few countries but to call it global is a entirely different thing altogether and i am not even talking about 1st world and 3rd world popularity. There are 195 countries in the world and what all countries do you think cricket is popular and if you can find that answer then you will understand the difference between global and popularity among population .

Furthermore he feels that ICC should preserve this format, and make it more exciting for batman’s and bowler’s which will attract young audience back to this format. ^^^ Sachin is no longer active in the international scene, and therefore I would argue that we should rather listen to the current players. If you ask players such as Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, then I am sure that they would prefer the shorter format instead of the more traditional varieties. Cricket is a career, just like any other. The players would chose the format which takes the least effort and pays the most. Can you point me to any article where either Kohli or any of the other regular players say that they would prefer test matches over T20 (or IPL)?

Right now if we have voting system for format then surely we will have nearly 75% to 80% players those like Twenty/20 and never go for test because this is more entertaining and profitable for them so just because of this ICC is not going to do any thing which create more issue for them right now its good all three formats doing ok and we are enjoying with this all.
