In my opinion there is no now or never. It is about this year or next year and Mbappe is trying to avoid any disadvantages for himself as he is also staring at the bonus he would get next year when he stays until then, but that is what PSG wants to avoid because it would be expensive as hell for them. I am personally quite happy to know that Arda Guler prefers Real Madrid in the end and will play for Real Madrid as the youngest player in the club. Law also says that they can sell him to another club, of course you need Mbappe to agree to that, but they do not have any type of responsibility to keep him, and that means they can just sell him if they want to. In this case, if Real really wants him then PSG could sell him to Real Madrid even this season, so instead of having him for free next season, they will have him one more season.

Of course why spend that much money for just one more season, but that's the risk you take, otherwise he can sign with someone else next season as well, if offered more money. I believe that we are going to see Mbappe stay at PSG one more season for sure, not going to be a simple thing but it will most probably happen and should be a problem all year long.

I also think Mbappe won't be able to move to Madrid this season because it would be huge money for the club. Real Madrid won't pay that when next season they can buy Mbappe at a reasonable price. I think nothing serious will happen if Mbappe doesn't play for Real this season, although they will miss such a striker.
