Your theory do not pass the Occam's razor. Western democracy system make stupid bureaucrat rule country while despotism make psychopath ex-KGB leader rule country.

I prefer stupid people than psychopath.

His actions seem to be a little too clever and elaborate for a psychopath, aren't they? Roll Eyes

Quite funny. All the current world leaders are anti-Bitcoin. What makes Putin any different from them? And now I am an oligarch? I don't have words to explain my amusement.  Grin

that's not what law say: http://bitlegal.io/

And some European country like Denmark, Switzerland, UK, etc start to make comprehensive cryptocurrency regulation. Western is more free-marketer than the rest of the world, i assume it would be the same for crypto and it would be a good strategy if politician would be smart.

There you go again- you love useless mind games. LOL. Why prefer either? there are many people who aren't stupid nor psychopath.

WE have clever leaders like Putin, for one. He's my idol, btw. I love clever people

(if only the likes of you who say he's a psychopath, then he is not a psychopath)

Psychopath can be smart, they still psychopath.

But they still should fail at some point (lol), shouldn't they? If they shouldn't, how can we then tell if someone is a psychopath? And if they should, where did Putin fail that would make it reasonable and valid to call him a psychopath? Cool

Or are you just calling names? Grin

The Central Bank of Russia has issued some warnings about the use of Bitcoin, but so far none of the Bitcoin-based businesses or individual users of Bitcoin has faced any harassment from the Russian authorities. In the Western world, only a few of the countries are pro-Bitcoin, such as Switzerland and Germany. The situation in most of the other nations are similar to that in Russia.

In the Western world, only a few of the countries are pro-Bitcoin, such as Switzerland and Germany. The situation in most of the other nations are similar to that in Russia.

"Since mid-January, various arms of the Russian government have made moves designed to deter the use of Bitcoin and other virtual currency. On January 15, 2014, Russian legislators proposed three anti-terrorist amendments that impose regulations that would impose strict limits of 1000 RUR (30 USD) per day per person and 15000 RUR (450 USD) per month on anonymous “electronic” money transfers.[1] The proposed laws couple vague definitions of "anonymous" and "electronic" which potentially expose Bitcoin exchanges and users who exceed the limits to punishments of large fines and/or imprisonment.[2]"

Like everything in country like Russia there will be restrictive law and law will be badly enforced. In country where rule of law apply just a little, there will be more comprehensive law...

And you forget bitcoin and capital control aren't compatible...

But, virtual currency is not without Russian advocates. On January 24, 2014, Sberbank chief, Herman Gref, signaled opposition to restrictions on virtual currencies - calling them a "colossal step backward."[5] Perhaps more voices like this will temper the response to Bitcoins in the near future."

It's one of the most corrupted state in the world, you can't know what you can do or can't. Nobody is judged equally... They must keep military in the south cause muslim don't want to live with them, they basically repress any form of opposition...

it turned out the US has $60 trillion debts all the while it has been saying it only had $17 trillion. How do you call that kind, a tenth class state?

please look at the latest World Bank GDP-PPP for 2013, Russia, only two decades from Communism is now the richest country in Europe with GDP-PPP of $3.4 trillion vs Germanys $3.3 trillion (NOTE that is the more reliable GDP-PPP, not the arbitrary Nominal GDP)

since when its a country's fault that almost one-fourth  of the world's ntural resources are found in its territory? It's either 1 or 2 in all the metals. You know, in a world of diminishing resources, a wiser man would say that is the ultimate plus. If you monetize those like they monetize debt, Russia is the richest in the world.

1.I call that Keynesianism, but with smart reform they will land softly, it's not the first country that tried Keynesian policy and see it not work, people will lose money but not capital. I just hope Hillary will not win.

2.Russian population is 140 million, it's normal they have a "big" GDP. But it not mean people have good standard of life or they are free... And GDP-PPP is just a big lol, GDP is an aggregate and PPP and inflation calculation method have controversy. Median wage would be better.

3.It's not a fault when the state and the economy don't run on that... But that's good, government are usually greedy so with good international competitor and some alternative to there resources they will fail  Cheesy

You don't answer why Russia stay a authoritarian regime while in other ex-URSS country like Czech civil right exist... You don't answer the lack of diversity in Russia export...
