This Nigeria team is really on for a show this time around, you can feel the  energy and hunger when they play, they always want to be on the ball and get the goals and for me that is a really  good way to start tournament. I know it is a bit too early but they are already my favorite in winning this tournament and I hope it goes well for them. Moses Simon has been really fantastic in the midfield for Nigeria in the past 2 games and getting a goal today will indeed help in boosting his confidence in games to come, the Nigeria defense has been superb as well in getting the defensive job done.

Have notice nigeria players to be very good since I have been watching nigeria match, they always try their best to come with a good performance,  so I was never surprised about their victory. From the beginning of the match I know nigeria will win

Nigeria just pushed through to the next phase with this game today. Although, this wasn't the game that really the game that made the decider, it was the game with Egypt. Its supposed to be the most difficult game but Nigeria won with ease I must say. They didn't play half the game they played with Egypt against Sudan else, the goals would have come in there numbers. Nigeria 3-1 Sudan is okay but, it could have been morehouse Nigeria have applied more pressure.

Anyway, Kudos for the Nigerian team to have put smiles in the faces of citizens and even Cameroonian fans once again, 2 wins in a role its a cool way to go at the moment.

Nigeria managed to beat Sudan with a score of 3-1, Nigeria's early goals were scored by Chukwueze in the 3rd minute, and in the 45th minute. awoniyi added another goal to the goal against sudan, in the 46 m minute, simon managed to add another goal, only in the 70th minute sudan managed to reduce their lag, with 2 matches that have been played by each club, now sudan are in the key jury and nigeria is at the top of the standings, nigeria can already make sure to qualify for the next round..

Sudan should never be a tough problem for Nigeria but anything can happen, but it was as expected.

Sudan should never be a tough problem for Nigeria but anything can happen, but it was as expected.

Congratulations team Nigeria. The coach, Eguavon is doing a great job rejuvenating the team. Albeit, during the upcoming matches, would love to see more clinical with finishing, more spaces created upfront and putting chances away under pressure. Also, I believe there is a need to keep working on closing down spaces in the midfield and improve speed of reactions to dangerous possession by opponents

Egypt still managed to win and Salah scored the only goal in the match.

Even if the Egyptian team does not look like a team that will get too far in the AFCON regardless of the win, i'm still happy for Mo' Salah that he was able to get his name on the score sheet for his country. He would have come under heavy criticism if he lingered in this competition without getting a goal to his name, especially coming in from Europe in such fine form.

It will be tough game against Sudan in their next game, it will be a decidal for both teams. For the super eagles team, this is one of the best super eagles team we have had in while, the players playing together with so much determination to win, i hope they don't disappoint in the knockout stages. Yes, it's good that Egypt won and I hope they go as far as possible as the presence of world stars at the championship benefits everyone. As for Salah, one goal is clearly not enough for him to "make the norm" - before the championship, he was quoted as the first contender for the title of the tournament's top scorer, so he must score at least a few more goals.

The entire team is playing well, but I've noticed one thing about the team in the last two games: the defenders want to do the work of the midfielders, those long range passes is putting pressure on the team, and secondly, individual play is starting to creep in, which is bad for the team. Iwobi should always start the game since his experience and serenity helped the squad tremendously when he came on.

Cameroon and Nigeria have already qualified for the quarterfinals; Cameroon has shown more commitment and teamwork than any other team, so I won't be astonished if they win the trophy; nevertheless, I will only discuss their chances in the next phase. So far, they haven't faced a top team.

Sierra Leone has managed to impress and steal a point from the game with Ivory coast, such sloppy play from Ivory coast, letting go of the lead and advantage they had. Sierra Leone has two points now, and if they win their next game, that is a push into the next round of the competition. The Ivorian team will need to play real hard in their game against Algeria if they are survive into the next round of the competition. Sierra Leone jist like the Nigerian team is another great team in this competition where the players are showing great determination to win, will love to see them progress even further into the competition.

It bad that Ivory coast had to draw against Sierra Leone, but more painful when they had to be the one to squash my game, really with all the amazing players Ivory coast has I would think they should be above drawing to a team like Sierra Leone, no disrespect, but there we have it, big name but not a big team, Tunisia surprised me although Mauritania isn't a strong team still four goals is a big statement.

I haven't been keeping up to date with the matches themselves, since they aren't on at very convenient times for me. However, I see that Mane, Salah, and Keita from Liverpool have picked up Man Of The Match awards already. I did catch some of the highlights from the Egypt game against Guinea-Bissau from what I could see Egypt aren't particularly playing well, and were largely bailed out because of Salah's brilliance, which I won't deny has happened a few times at Liverpool.

Senegal on the other hand have looked pretty good collectively. Think they have the best chance of winning the tournament out of the three as long as they can keep Mane performing well.

Nigeria has actually impressed me already, they have a good chance to go further than this.
They're going to win there next game, they should work on converting everything, every little chance they have.
Anticipating for the nine points in advance, happy to see the giants of Africa playing this good... But then what's the secret ?

Senegal on the other hand have looked pretty good collectively. Think they have the best chance of winning the tournament out of the three as long as they can keep Mane performing well.

You must be a Liverpool fans because so far Nigeria has been the most dominant team and well compose in the tournament. While others aren't following and only criticizing the tournament based on online reviews, I am and it has been an interesting one so far. Although the quality isn't as peak as the Euros but there has been some interesting and funny movement that you can look back at and understanding there's room ahead for growth.

The competition and continent as a whole just need support and funding and who knows, football there might be as good as that of the world stage level soon. When I see countries that aren't that passionate of football having the opportunity to host a tournaments that brings football lovers together it gets me wondering of the idea behind that, if it is just money orientated or passion orientated.

If Africa can get more support through hosting tournaments as the world cup and help in building standard stadium then 50% of the problems will be solved as currently that's one of the issue this current competition is facing.

Algeria suffered a surprising loss yesterday against Equatorial Guinea. They will now face Ivory Coast in their last game of the group stage and need to win, otherwise they'll go home. I am surprised by the whole Group E, I expected Algeria and Ivory Coast dominating here, but after 2 supposedly easy games they are only at 4 and 1 points out of 6! But this doesn't need to mean much for the final round. Both can still qualify and can come very far.

If Algeria wins against Ivory Coast then Ivory Coast which for me was one of the big favorites to win the tournament is at high risk of being ranked third,well most likely they will go through as the best third team in case Equatorial Guinea wins the last game against Sierra Leone.Algeria is at high risk also coming from an unexpected loss and a draw against Ivory Coast sends them directly at home and one of the other favorites of the tournament goes away.Really difficult game this last one in this group E.

After a 35 game unbeaten streak record, Guinea ranked the 144 country by FIFA has finally won Algeria yesterday.
No hope further for them, deserves to go back home for putting up a poor start to the Afcon tournament.
Ivory Coast should end up winning them again.

Burkina Faso may win against Ethiopia. The Ethiopian team performed very poorly. They did not win any of the two matches. And conceded 4 goals against Cameroon in the previous match. Although the Burkina team is not strong, their gameplay is stable. They have a chance to win 1-0.

Cape Verde     vs      Cameroon

Cameroon looks strong in this year's Africa Cup of Nations. They have won both the matches and they have scored 6 goals. Their forward players are in the form now. And maybe in today's match they will be able to continue the winning streak.

Burkina Faso may win against Ethiopia. The Ethiopian team performed very poorly. They did not win any of the two matches. And conceded 4 goals against Cameroon in the previous match. Although the Burkina team is not strong, their gameplay is stable. They have a chance to win 1-0.

The quotes are in favor of Burkina Faso (1.55 to win). Ethopia might try to not go out without a fight however. They don't have anything to lose at this point. Burkina Faso will likely go through to the next round even if they don't win today however.

Cape Verde     vs      Cameroon

Cameroon looks strong in this year's Africa Cup of Nations. They have won both the matches and they have scored 6 goals. Their forward players are in the form now. And maybe in today's match they will be able to continue the winning streak.

That's just football you can't win all the time. And also you can't say that a team who has bad ranking can't win the best ranked team so i don't know why you are comparing teams like equatorial guinea and algeria. Before the match both of teams had same chance of winning or losing. Algeria played better and didn't have enough luck to score beside two offsides goals. Guinea had more luck on this match and won but didn't play that good.
For algeria if they win against ivory coast this thursday they gonna pass to the round of 16 easily. And i bet on that.
