Have a look at StorageCoin, please. I would call that innovative. But Qora? Where is the innovation?

Can you link the StoageCoin thread? As the one I found (and posted on) screams of 'scam'. Most notably, escrow is flatly refused.

I think I refer to this one here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=571925.0

There is also an old, locked thread and there was a first thread using Nxt which has been deleted for whatever reason.

Also I spoke with one of Nxt devs and he said he can't see how his algo may work.

Well, I am not certain as well whether this particular algo may work out or not.  Especially the usage of parallel blockchains seems unnecessary to me.  "Storee" and "Storer" may not transfer the complete storage over the blockchain.  Just exchanging proofs would suffice.  If so, only one additional blockchain if at all would suffice.

Anyway and to conclude this discussion for me:  I was referring to the initial idea Proof of Storage.  Of course, for investing more than time to review his project (i.e. money), I need certain key aspects of the protocol, implementation, infrastructure etc. clarified.

I personally would like to see something a bit different for the Logo. Do we have to have a circle? Why not a square or something else?

I think we don't need all the word Qora in the logo, just the Q maybe or no letter at all.

In some ways you got to decide what is the overarching idea of Qora before you produce a logo or image. Twitter has a bird, napster has a head with headphones etc. Cause Qora doesnt really have meaning, maybe even changing the name is an option?
I think we should change the name of this coin.

I loved the name right from the start. I think it's awesome and the name was one of the reasons I didn't believe Qora ran away with investments. Scamcoins always have shitty names.

But if you have any ideas, please share with everyone.

The develper said the name could change but I think the name is good, but lacks any meaning possibly.

I actually think the name itself has a really nice look and sound to it. Qora is a nice short word to make a nice logo and Q is also a great letter to make a logo in my opinion.

I guess its meaning as 'fence' could be pulled out in the logo...The idea of a safe coin etc..

Just a thought. everyone I assume is pronouncing it  'Kora'  and not 'Kwwora' which would be horrible, hehe.

For english-speaker it sounds perfectly normal. I pronounce it as "quora". Like "quorum" or "quota". And I like that it spells Qora instead of Quora. It's a nice feature, like in some famous brand names. In my mind it has no connection with fences, especially tatar fences  Smiley

A couple of options.

I love these icons, may be use letter "R"  or "A" or "a" to instead of the circle point of the icon "Q" might be better, you can try it.thanks for your great job.

I like last one

Qora?Qoran?
Name "Qora" may cause misunderstanding, I think we'd better stay away from religion.

I know that when you want to release the transaction you need to proof ownership.
It is just easier to manage everything if we know which transactions belongs to which bitcointalk account before the release.

It will NOT be easier to manage if you have the information before the release...  Anon136 needs to pass the information to you when he releases the BTC.  Even if you know who's behind the tx that was sent to Anon136...  it's not going to be the same tx when Anon136 releases the BTC.

I believe we should sign a message with our Qora address (or even our bitcointalk username) and have Anon136 attach the information with the release tx.  If we decide on the Qora address...  all you will have to do is send the coins.  If we decide on the bitcointalk username...  we will have to do it through PM I guess (one extra step).

Edit:  I wish you were doing it like eXo...  we notify Anon136 for release of funds by a certain date...  you send the coins to Anon136... Anon136 sends you BTC...  Anon136 sends us the coins.

...so much easier...

I have no problem doing it that way but Anon136 suggested I did it the other way.

Could someone send me coins please? QSbZwKXLKCJAyBeFzNuRzFpVyce9zpqEtL

Quora, when I enter Debug I start receiving hundreds of messages:
aпp 18, 2014 4:45:17 PM c.e run
INFO: received message 7 from /162.243.170.76
aпp 18, 2014 4:45:17 PM c.e a

aпp 18, 2014 4:45:17 PM c.e run

Sent you some.
This is perfectly normal while synchronizing.
Message 6 means that you ask for a block with a certain id and message 7 is the response that contains the block.

A couple of options.

I really like them. Maybe we should start a poll to let the community decide which one.

There is no blocks shown in my beta client, Why?

Are there any errors in the command line. Do you have the latest java 7 and do you run it by using the run.bat/run.sh files?

Qora?Qoran?

The qora is related with the religion?

Isn't it Koran? Or is it called different in other languages?

Hmm it seems the server has gone crazy. Strange it had been running quite well for the past 2 weeks. Let me try and fix it.

Oke the server has been restarted and seems to be working fine again. The beta has problems with handling large messages and forks. I have fixed those issues but they still exist in the beta client.
You might have to delete your wallet and data files to make it work again.

qora is not quran/koran.

qora is a "fence" in turkish dialect, but that should be fine
