To me it's like the Hunger games early rounds. NXT and Qora are more like allies in their fight against shit coins and clones so NXT is not a competitor. But later in the game we know we have to fight each other...

Good point. In my opinion it perfectly depicts the situation.

Anyone skilled for safe-checking the new client after the release?

Is this true?:

Current Features
1)   Ed25519 DSA to verify and sign messages.
2)   1-5 minute block time depending on the network activity.
3)   Retargeting every 10 blocks.
4)   Password protected wallets that can be recovered/generated from seeds.
5)   New Proof-of-Stake algorithm.
6)   A JSON RPC API to directly communicate with the client.

Future Features
7)   Naming Service: Allows the user to register a key-value pair which can be used for various purposes (URLS, addresses, …)
This Naming Service will also include an exchange where users can buy and sell keys.
8 )   Colored Coins/Assets.
9)   Arbitrary Transactions: A simple feature which allows users to send any payload they want over the network. This can be used by third-parties to build additional features on top of Qora (data storage, chat).
10)   Transaction Boosting: Higher transaction processing speed by not having to broadcast the transactions to the whole network.

Possible Features
1)   Anonymous transactions/Zerocoin: One of the biggest problems of Bitcoin is of course that every transaction is traceable. Currently Zerocoin is the most promising project which is trying to solve that problem in a decentralized way.
2)   Cross Blockchain trading.
3)   Finite Blockchain/Blockchain shrinking.

Nope. Qora (BCNext) doesn't support the idea of centralized management, he releases 100% coins to the world. I actually agree with him. Having a dev fund is like keeping baby's arm or leg to yourself after birth. It's more healthy when you give away everything and the future of the coin depends on the community.
Thanks for the feedback.  Smiley But what about Bitcoin Foundation and various working committees NXT have? Forget about the dev fund for a moment, don't we need some sort of centralized committee or structure to direct the business of qora development (marketing, regional promotion.. etc)? Well, ultimately, qora dev is the one calling the shots, and everything is subjected to his approval. It's up to him and the community to decide what to do going forward. So I guess I'm done talking.  Grin

In any case, as a business person, I'm very interested in business aspect of things, and I was thinking having a central committee will show the world that we're organized and we mean business. Another thing I was afraid of is that Qora might get lost in a sea of shitcoin, and its future cut short by a bunch of short-sighted dumpers and people who don't genuinely care about the future of Qora. That was my only concern.  Having a dev fund will ensure that Qora will never become a rudderless ship.

I sincerely believe in the future of Qora and I truly believe it will surpass NXT and become the King of 2nd-Gen Coin. So let's do what we can to help Qora succeed!  Grin

I agree and I already posted m thoughts on this matter: "I agree that we need a dev/marketing fund and a committee to manage it. Actually we can start discuss it right now. First of all we need a Qora's opinion on that matter. What does he think we need to do first: mobile client, exchange, custom design desktop client, dice website, anything else? Then we will gather a fund and start realize it."

As for the last part we've got Qora's answer:
"1 and 2 are very difficult to do. Will probably be changed into coinjoin and might transform into zerocoin in the future if it becomes usable.
1. Zerocoin at this point still requires a lot of computerpower to make and validate those transactions. I think coinjoin will be a better and simpler solution.
This will require some centralization but as long as it is optional and the centralization is zero trust I don't see a problem using coinjoin.
2. Might not even be possible.
3. Not that difficult but requires a strong network to make it work properly."

People are excited but please realize that during the beta we were unable to test the application with a large network.
There is the possibility that the client will need a quick bug patch.

Will there be a new wallet on release?

No, the wallet will be the same.

An updated wallet will be released on launch.

@qora
It's important for us to launch qora without unexpected things.
I think we should confirm the address in two ways:
1,PM qora address with btt account.
2,send qora address  to you form the  Email address witch btt account related.

one word:double confirm(btt acc+Email ).

If you want to recieve your share this way just make sure to pm me the email before the release or else this would be useless.

How will this work with the people that used Anon136 escrow service?
Anon is keeping my share in btc so does it means that I will get qora from him
or from the qora developer?
Also on 1st page it says that we need to proof the transaction that we made with Anon?
@qora:
Is it enough to send a PM to you with transaction info?
Does the message need to be signed by BTC wallet?

Please put detailed info on the distribution workflow (steps) on the 1st page
so wee can keep safe from people that would like to use the situation to scam.

Thanks.

The escrow needs to be released before you can receive your full share.
There is the possibility to ask for a small amount of your share before you release the escrow to test the application.

Hi Qora,

Can you give steps to release escrow funds to you? Also i think the mega link is dead. Cant download from there.

Same as above.
Please do not download the beta anymore.
The beta servers are offline and a new client will be available on release time.
Using the beta client on release will cause errors.
