We have all talked about PSG's surprising loss and all... I would like to talk about Lyon as well. Do you see how great their season is now? They got another win without Endrick while he was suspended.

Now they are in the 3rd place! They are in a winning series like 7 matches in the league currently. This team were nearly about to relegate because of financial issues. Now they are performing even better than last season. 

The situation looks very good for Lyon at the moment because they have managed to secure third place in the standings and have performed very well in recent matches. If they can maintain their current performance, they will be able to hold on to it until the end of the season and at the same time secure a place in the Champions League next season. They just need to maintain their excellent form and maintain their lead over Marseille. If they can do that, that would be a great achievement for them this season.

I'd love to see that happen too for Lens to beat PSG but in as much as we are seeing Lens dominate in every game they play it still doesn't mean that they will show that same strength when it comes to PSG, it will be like the Lens we're hoping to do wonders will start playing like is the first time they're facing PSG and it will piss me off. When we expect a team to make the game not to be a one sided affair the other team will start allowing the big side to take absolute control of the game. PSG have been on top of the Ligue 1 for long and no team wants to change that instead they struggle to finish in the top 4 which makes the league to be all about PSG but if there's something new that will happen this season for Lens or any other to win the league title it will be better because everyone wants power to change hands at least for ones.

PSG has done enough in the league one and has made league one a one team title. Gradually, one team dominance in the local leagues will die naturally. If we check the leagues this season,e everyone closely struggling and panting to win a title they have always won seamlessly. The game between PSG and Lens has a lot of influence on the final league standings. Going by the current forms of the two teams, the game looks risky to forecast but it doesn't look like a draw game. PSG needs the game like it all depends on that game. This is why I would predict a win for PSG like a 2-3 game but PSG must be careful not to be decieved by the  home fans influence as they would want to pull up a massive number against PSG who would play with their last breath.

I agree with this, PSG is dealing with UCL at the same time and funny enough they are still facing French teams there. Monaco and PSG played last night and PSG managed to get the win even though it looked not so easy for a while, but they did manage to get the win.

This means, while that was also a French team, it's still true that PSG is doing fine and I think because of UCL games, they are a bit more tired than Lens, and that is causing Lens to have some luck. But I think PSG will eventually take the position back again.

Lens have proven themselves so far and they have been able to perform consistently to be in first place even though they were previously shifted by PSG. If this team can maintain consistency then I'm sure PSG will have quite a hard time catching up on points even though the difference isn't that big. The match against Lens will be quite crucial because after all both teams will try to do their best so as not to lose points and I am sure that PSG itself will not easily beat Lens who are currently appearing very solid with much higher motivation.

Combining the wins of Lens and PSG gives us a total of 1.93 odds. After the surprising Rennes loss I don't think PSG will make a mistake this time. Metz are literally the worst team in the league now.  

On the other hand I'm wondering if this will be a game in which Lens lose points. But when the way Lens destroyed Monaco earlier comes to my mind, I just don't want to give Monaco much of a chance...

The score certainly doesn't worry Lens or PSG, who are pretty stable in first place, but this doesn't change the fact that they have to always perform well and they must certainly be very calm and play the games well, because the teams are always there who can steal your position and the standings.

These are teams I expected to be second and third place based on how much money they spent and how they looked before the season started, so them being fourth and eight instead is a very tough situation for them, doesn't look that great for them at all.

Winning the Ligue 1 title isn't their primary goal. Their main objective this year is to win the Champions League again. They know how to do it because they won the championship last year from a similar situation. However, many teams are already developing strategies against them this year. Therefore, Paris Saint-Germain needs to win the French league first to achieve their primary goal.

PSG vs Lens next match is by April, from now till then, we will judge them based on the matches they will be playing until then. Lens are more consistent, PSG are doing their best which isn't enough, they should take every game from henceforth seriously because it is what matters most at the time unless they have plans of not winning the league, PSG also struggled against Monaco in the Champions League, PSG are going through bad phases and they have to manage it through, at least with their domestic league, as it seems the Champions League isn't for them.

PSG is underperforming slightly when compared to the previous season, but they are still doing better than in 2023-24 season.
What I like to do is calculate average points per game, which, I think, is a pretty good way to measure performance and whether or not a team is over or underperforming.
Avg points for PSG:
2025/26:  2.32
2024/25: 2.47
2023/24: 2.24

The fact that PSG lost the position of the table leader to Lens (again) is not necessarily an indication of anything bad happening to PSG. It's just Lens stepped up to the challenge and give PSG a run for their money.
PSG performance is 3.6% better than in 2023/24 when they won Ligue 1 with 9 points advantage over runner up, Monaco.

Considering this season Lyon almost got relegated and was in the verge of not even being in the league, playing this good is definitely a great feeling for them.

They are at third place right now, only trailing Lens and PSG who are fighting for the title, and all thanks to them getting a good winning streak when Marseille ended up losing too many points back to back to back. Lyon being third and going to UCL even though they were almost relegated shows resilience of the team without a doubt.
