The Ligue 1 has become really interesting lately. The closest opponents of PSG in the standings are Lens and Lorient now. However even with them PSG have a five-point gap at the moment. They are already starting to consolidate their lead in the league earlier in the season. This is important for them also because this will help them decrease their load here and focus more on the Champions League title.

It is a pity to see Marseille's performance dropping this much on the recent weeks. They seemed like they cared about the league more than the Champions League before. But now it is like there is no difference for them. Actually we see a change now because they are better in the Champions League considering their last results. 

Lorient should have taken the 2nd place if only they didnt get slipped to troyes , they even nearly losing the match .. fortunately they saved themselves and get a point home. There are no serious title contender currently at ligue 1 , both lorient and lens could fall in just few matches.

Marseille , lyon and as monaco looks helpless this season.

This is clearly a threat to Marseille because if this continues some great clubs like Rennes or Marseille should be able to play even better.

Marseille really disappointed a lot of people, they were the ones that people had faith on to make ligue 1 more interesting, but so far i don't think that Lens and Lorient can keep up with PSG and keep the gap close to them, as you said, PSG will focus now on Champions League, Ligue 1 is almost official.

Today we have seen some very entertaining matches with lots of goals. I can say that the closing match was a spectacular one. We saw 7 goals. Throughout the match, we were alone with the pressing game of the Lille team. Monaco found goals but not enough to win.  It's a good development for the league that there are mutual goals in every match. This means that everyone is capable of scoring against each other.

Yes, it was an interesting match that saw both teams score goals against each other. LOSC took the lead, then Monaco could equalize. LOSC took the lead again in the 39th minute, but it only took 5 minutes for Monaco to level the score again to make it 2-2. In the second half Monaco could have taken the lead through Wisssam Ben Yedde's goal, but LOSC managed to level the score and went ahead for their win.

I agree with you @ Docnaster. Personally it was below my expectation. I was hoping to see PSG win with nothing less than 5  goals against Ajaccio but we were forced to manage three. The only excitement i will not ignore even if they didn't meet my expectation that the three goals scored were assisted and scored by just Messi and Mbappe alone.

The skewed issue surrounding Mbappe cannot be separated from what he did, after or before. he often makes controversial statements regarding his status at PSG.
as we know, he became one of the key players in SPG. it is undeniable that he has extraordinary talent, he is one of the great young stars and looks like his career will shine even more.

however, if he continues to act like a little boss and always makes controversial statements.
So, don't be surprised if the news media always cover it with bad rumours. IMO, obviously it will change his image for the worse and it will affect his career in the future.

I have not seen Mbappe in outstanding form this season, he has just been good but not outstanding in my humble opinion, there is nothing that can justify what psg did with Mbappe, the contract, promises, French president calling him and other unnecessary things the club did to keep him, they did too much, if a player wants to go and the club have asked him to stay, if they player insists i feel the club should allow such player leave. Psg made Mbappe feel bigger than the club, that is why they are having problems with him and his attitude, the player and the club may claim that everything is fine between Mbappe and psg, but it is easy to know that it is not true.

Much better if Mbappe leaves. His arrogant toxic and selfish attitude can only create weakness in the team. The other teams that can do this normally are like Lille, Monaco, Lyon and Rennes. But none of them is close enough to PSG to be able to stay in the title competition. The league gets bored very early like every season and this decreases the attention level of people to the Ligue 1. This is the biggest factor why this league doesn't get enough investment from anyone.

Monaco missed big chance to take a good place at the top

This is the most exciting match in Ligue 1 I have watched this week.
They are chasing each other's goals and this of course really makes my adrenaline rush in watching.
2 times Lille's goal advantage was rewarded by Monaco and even created a third goal but I 2 Lille goals in the second half ended Monaco's victory in this match.
With this result Monaco must be willing to shift its position now.

Indeed quite a heated match between Monaco and Lille and regardless from shifting positions, the actual rank after 12 rounds is interesting with Lens and Lorient in top after PSG instead of Marseille, Lille, Monaco or even Nice, Rennes or Lyon.
PSG secured 5 points difference, Messi goal was good vs Ajaccio and both Messi and Mbappe were doing perfect, although the absence of Neymar.

Big game both side in the game came prepared they Both had a good match form one winning four league games that is lille meanwhile also Monaco has good for winning eight of the last league games they had and drew one. The match saw how much of an attacking side's thru can be they both produced four goals in the first half. Thru both defended well and some took good use of the promising chances they had. Nice is another game, they failed to win but a single point wasn't bad, Barkley and Pepe both had good performance last night.

Messi was the main striker in Barcelona. Barcelona's match strategy was made around Messi. And every player assisted Messi to score goals. Messi's bonding with the players was excellent. So Messi could consistently perform well and score a lot of goals. But PSG's main striker is Mbappe. I think Messi is now playing the role of an attacking midfielder. So we don't get the good performance we expected from Messi. Although he may not score a lot of goals, Messi's contribution to each match is quite visible.
