Huh?  I wouldn’t say they are playing bad.  If you’re really watching the match, you could see it’s mostly that they are stale in front of the opponent’s goal.  They need a proper striker.

Edit:  Grealish just made an attempt.  I’d say that was the most convincing one from City for the match so far.

I thought so too, their game wasn't that bad, they just lacked people to execute passes that were aimed at the opponent's goal.  Reliable stickers are really needed by them, or the curse of champion is attached to them.  When they met Tottenham, they became very weak until the last minute. There is no goal which can they earn for 80'.

Not sure, I think City have lacked urgency. The commentators have mentioned it a few times already, they just keep walking with the ball while still trailing in the game. City are better than this, and it makes you think where they'll finish if they don't secure a striker. Torres isn't the man that should be leading the lines. Obviously, this isn't a fully fit Man City, with KDB only now coming on, but they've been rather lackluster, and Tottenham have been brilliant.

Yup..  But notice how the texture of the match slightly changed for City when KDB went on.  Much more becoming an attacking threat for a couple of moments.  But it’s not enough. In the end you could see that they were mentally done.

Btw just looked at the previous meeting of Tottenham and Manchester City, the record favors Spurs when fixture is played at Spurs turf  and already this one they are ahead can this run be stopped, not lookinglikely...let's watch and see maybe CITY will salvage a draw.

Is there anything better than City splashing millions in the transfer market and then losing in the 1st game of the season?
Grealish played as a midfielder, I had a feeling Guardiola might be going for that. He's technically good enough for that, no doubt, but paired with Gundogan there - well, that's too weak defensively.

Liverpool, Chelsea and United all started strong, has to be said against much weaker opponents. I have a feeling it will be a great title race.

I know it might be Early but I think jack grealish was not to be bought £100 million playing today I wasn't impressed with his performance, I think he wasn't exciting and with players like Foden, silva, kevin and co his Worth £100 million might not be enough to get him on the Eleven man team, congratulations to wolves ex coach on his first win for tottenham hotspur, I think he played a counter attack tactics with son and lucas, Manchester city wasn't able to threaten them enough so they can only fall back defensively.

Yeah, you saw that right! I don't know why Pep Guardiolaat times likes to put himself in the situation and later finds a way to get out. You have all these good players, Kevin De Bruyne, O. Zinchenko, B. Silva and you choose to keep them on the bench. I naturally thought Kevin De Bruyne wasn't fit for the game following his last appearance at the Europa League and later seeing him on the pitch made me wonder, why now! Pep definitely must have his reasons and which ever it was, it just cost him 3 points.

Tottenham on the other hand did great today, they showed proper coordination of there counter attacks, knew when to fall back quickly and the defence line wasn't lacking either. Son finally got the shots right and won the team 3 points, a very deserving win.

I was also expecting goals galore from both sides but luckily it was Tottenham that scored the only goal of the encounter, the match was quite entertaining and competitive from the start to finish, the spotlight was majorly on Grealish who was expected to make an impact on his debut, unfortunately was just average in his performance, kudos to Tottenham against all odds without Harry Kane proved soccer analyst and pundits wrong performed excellently well, all the 11 players were outstanding throughout the duration of the match.

The difference was reasonable. Man City team is far better than Tottenham. Man City has dominated in the game too. But they were unlucky and their key players didn't perform as it was expected. Do you think it's a good idea to make bets based on bigger odds difference? Such thing happens. Strong and favourite team doesn't win always.

Tottenham are still maintaining their unbeaten streak against Manchester City. They managed to defeat City with the only goal of Son today. It was said that many of City's important players weren't going to play in this game as they were going to be rested. But it wasn't the case actually after they announced their lineup. And Kane didn't play at Tottenham because of personal reasons. But still Tottenham were able to beat City 1-0.

Liverpool finally looking like the Liverpool we know, it is great to see the team actually having some excitement again, not to just watch but to see the players like that actually does make me happy as well.

I honestly believe that we should not be taking this team for granted, they could just have some infighting and suddenly be horrible so it is not really that weird to see what happened last year with just injuries, I am glad to see them back to being good. They are still not my favorites for the season, City is still chasing Kane and if they actually end up getting him, then they are 100% guaranteed to be my favorites, and I will bet on outrights for them as well.

I would love to see any club to even win league, FA, UCL at the same year, I do not know when was the last time that even happened (did it? just can't remember that's all) and City with Kane does actually have that chance.

I think that the most enjoyable game of the day was Newcastle v West Ham. West Ham got a huge 4-2 win away. And Antonio started the season really good by scoring 2 goals and making 1 assist. I think that Newcastle will have another problematic season. I know that it's early to say but I feel like it will happen.

I agree, today's game was a big surprise for me, I would say that Manchester city is weak and has no chance of being champion this season, at least it is my opinion

Tottenham looked the best we have seen them for a couple of years if they can keep us that form I do not see any reason why they would not finish in the top 4.

Once again I have to agree with you, this coach is incredible, he managed to make Wolves and Porto play well and now he is managing to make Tottenham play well

I voted for Man City but watching the game today I do not think they will win the league any more I think Chelsea or Manchester United will be favs.

I was just about to guess this as I read but, you said it anyway which doesn't make it entirely true. I feel its more about how the team was doing and looking at the situation with Chelsea, you could almost say they got to the finals by chance. As no one would have even guessed them being in the UCL finals. Same goes to them winning the trophy!
Again, to think of it, can a final be gambled? A UCL finals at that!

Another thing is, Kane was absent on the pitch today, not even on the bench, which lives some persons with the notion that, he was already set to head on with the transfer to Manchester City but again, do this win kind of prove something of Tottenham? Like them being capable of winning the league should Kane stay back at the club. No team is really best and team efforts matters a lot. Pep lost a trophy to Leicester City and so did he to Chelsea.
