There is only one game taking place this evening 19th February:

Aston Villa vs Liverpool

There is a lot at stake this evening. Ex-Manchester United player could make the difference if Aston Villa manage to win.

The key to this game is if Liverpool win they will have played one game extra but would have a ten point lead over second placed Arsenal. If they lose, it will mean their lead at the top could be cut to just four points if Arsenal win their game in hand.

If Aston Villa win, they move up to joint 7th with Newcastle United on points (but will occupy 8th because goal difference).

Mathematically Chelsea can also win the league but realistically it impossible.

Aston Villa 2-2 Liverpool

Liverpool are sitting eight points clear at the top of the table and that means Arsenal will have win their games to apply pressure. If they win their game in hand they will be just five points behind Liverpool, the title race is not over yet there is a long way to go.

Aston Villa should have won the game with a couple of one on one chances especially towards the end but Allison made fantastic saves to ensure Liverpool did not lose the game.

In their next two games Liverpool play Manchester City followed by Newcastle United. Arsenal have an opportunity to close the gap if Liverpool drop points.

I don't have second favorite sports- I'm only into EPL football that's all and it's what keeps me entertained and busy every weekend, the only reason why I'm watching some other Sports these days is because BSFL requires it. It seems as though Leicester City have not managed to find rhythm under new manager van Nistlerooy. How different would things have been if h has stayed interim manager at Manchester United and Amorim stayed at Sporting Lisbon (at least until the end of the season).

Man U really had problems in this match, but they were able to make a great comeback and now the score is 2-2 with only a few minutes left to play...  At first I thought that after Everton scored two goals in the first half, Man U had no chance, but they managed to equalise at the end of the game... It was really great...

Bournemouth and Fulham could have strengthened their positions with the extra points but they alongside Arsenal failed. Arsenal must be disappointed to lose at home to West Ham United and failing to close the gap on Liverpool.

Chelsea lost a 0-1 lead at Aston Villa as the game ended 2-1. Manchester United were losing 2-0 away at Everton but the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

It is exciting because just four points separate Brighton in 9th place with 40 points and Manchester City in 4th place with 44 points. The games tomorrow are significant:

As for the Super Sunday, Man City is still holding on its CL spot but Newcastle and Bournemouth could snatch it away any week if City keeps losing points.  Same with Nottingham Forest.  They shouldn't start waning now.  This is the most crucial part of the season.

Chelsea lost a 0-1 lead at Aston Villa as the game ended 2-1. Manchester United were losing 2-0 away at Everton but the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

About weekend about big chance missed to tighten the space between 3rd and 4th places - we could have gone 1 point below Nottingham forest if we had won our game to put more pressure on them for the 3rd place but everytime our CL rivals go bad , we go worse. So disappointed we didn't take advantage of another good weekend to close gaps. Everytime we go 1-0 ahead we start playing like dogshits.

Nottingham forest lost, Manchester city lost, Arsenal lost and Chelsea lost. The CL fight is getting entertaining.

Newcastle United won the seven goal game but you are right about the teams that lost and failed to push their Champions League claims. There is an added incentive this season because it seems finishing in 5th place will also mean Champions League qualification.

Keeping that aside, it seems as though the Guardiola and Manchester City era of dominance in the Premier League is over, Liverpool won that important game.

And it looks like we're having some mid week fixtures this week.  Some fixtures of interest are Brighton vs Bournemouth, Brentford vs Everton and Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal.  Feels like Bournemouth and Everton could win being away.  And Nottingham Forest get all three points at home.  What do you guys think?

Manchester City are really having their worst season in the recent years. They couldn't do anything against Liverpool before their fans at home. I didn't expect them to be this lost in this match at least. I liked only Doku's performance in the whole team.

Guardiola really needs to make some renovations. There are many players who don't seem to be willing to play properly anymore. Including even players like De Bruyne. After making some more changes in the squad maybe they can return better next season.

Doku has performed consistently well for Manchester City and Guardiola when he been asked to start games or come off the bench as a substitute. There cannot be too much to complain about when it comes to his contributions to the team.

As for De Bruyne, he is not the only player that is past his best. There are many players that are no longer producing acceptable standards at Manchester City. It is something Guardiola has to deal with before the start of next season if he will stay as their manager. Guardiola suffers from sleepless nights when things do not go the way he envisaged.

If he fails to qualify for the Champions League by finishing in the top five (an extra spot this season), then he will probably walk away from the club.

Did anybody ever contemplate Manchester City would find themselves in this position after Rodri got injured? What is clear De Bruyne will leave the club at the end of the season as his impact on games is negligible, however Rodri still has a role to play if he returns from injury next season.

His overall contribution to the team is immense, they need him next season if they want to have any chance of finding success.

He won 5 in 6 years and no team could stop him when he was doing that, EPL toughest for me isn't in the title race but for the top 4 (that's where the real battle is fought). Hardly before we get the same club representing epl year after year in Europe. At the moment have some clubs we could call them underdogs occupying the position and the so called big 6 are no where to be found.

Alex Ferguson dominated EPL, he won 3 titles back to back and won 13 in his managerial career. Again it's the champions league spot that the real battle is fought and no small club in the epl, underate them and see how well they'll deal with you.
