Croatia got the ticket in Group H, Russia missed the chance in last match. Play-off will be very hard for every team so this was very important win for Croatia.
No surprise in Group J, Germany finished at the top and FYROM got the play-off spot. They deserved more than Romania, they were the only team that can get a point against Germany, which was an unexpected win.
Spain and Sweden have a though clash for first spot in Group B. Draw is okay for Spain but if they concede a goal then they will be in a big trouble. Group A has also similar situation, group first and second are playing against each other. We have 45 minutes to see next two teams to advance.

Portugal vs Serbia this game is heated after the Serbs were promised some hefty bounty should the manage to beat the Portuguese team, and with scores tied at 1-1 anything can happen within the last 25 minutes remaining . From what am seeing am going in for a last minute screamer of a goal in favor of Serbia, that bounty put on the win is some serous motivation.

The Germans are doing just excellent at the moment the scores is 1-4 at the moment.

Serbia surprisingly won after late goal and they go to Qatar directly, Portugal will have to play in playoffs anb it will be difficult - only 3 teams will reach World Cup from it.

Serbia in the World Cup and Portugal will have to go through a very complicated playoff until we see Ronaldo in Qatar next year.
Spain is in its natural place and Sweden with Zlatan will fight for their place in the playoffs as well.
Despite the early goal of Portugal, and although it came with a defender's mistake, Serbia excelled in every inch on the field, individually and collectively.

Did not watch the game since I am tuned to Tennis Masters but I just checked the results and I can't believe Portugal lost at home. Furthermore according to the stats it looks deserved. I guess they wanted to play for the point and got rektd.

Spain did the job with 1:0 win. Can't believe that team like Spain does not have a better striker than De Thomas or Morata. What's up with Inaki Willimas or Moreno, both would be my choices before these two.

Spain played much better and deserved to score. The only problem was that the goal came late, but somehow they scored. Morata entered the game later and scored. If it was a draw, Spain would still complete the group as the leader, but they did not suffer an accident with this goal they scored.
Portugal missed the opportunity at the last minute. They were the disappointment of the day. Ronaldo's nightmare continues. Both the club team and the national team are not going good for him this year.

By the way I forgot to ask, if you watch the Croatia match, how was Josko Gvardiol's performance do you think, did he deserve to start? He's so young but he's playing in RB Leipzig this season. I guess Croatia found their next defender. Lovren and Vida are at the end of their career so new generation will find more chances.

and of course this is a loss because on paper I think in this match Portugal should have won the match.

Portugal would have prevented that situation by securing the match and lead by adding another goal but they relaxed so much and let Serbia win them. It would be even more painful if they don't win in the playoffs and end up losing a world cup spot altogether. This might be Ronaldo's last world cup and it would be disappointing if they don't even get to qualify for it.

Also it was great to see some new palyers in the german team playing and they have done there job good.
But the biggest surprise was when i readed the result from Portugal vs Serbia and that Serbia won and is qualified now.

Spain team did a good job especially after a bad first half they managed to turn the situation around they dominated the second half with multiple goal chances which was the opposit of portugal second half, they made things harder since there are many good teams in the play off.

Feels bad for Cristiano Ronaldo. Qatar 2022 was supposed to be his final world cup appearance. Portugal may still qualify, as they are on top in the playoff table. They have 17 points, followed by Russia at 16 (Switzerland or Italy may still end up with more points after today's match). Within two days, the first phase of the UEFA qualifiers will be over and we will get the list of 10 teams who qualify as the group winners. For teams like Portugal, we need to wait for a few more months, until the playoffs are complete.
