Life is so unpredictable and I am not sure where are we heading. The world is in chaos. Earlier Corona and now this war has put everything and everyone in a very bad situation. We have started seeing the after affects of Corona and now in coming days we will see the after affects of this war. Where did you read these words from Putin? I searched and didn't find any information about this observation.

This is because Russia is still not qualified for the World Cup, and until the play-offs it is not known if Russia qualifies or not. In a normal situation, Russia had to win Poland (first game) to stay in the race for a place in the World Cup. But I could lose and not go to the World Cup.

This is interesting, FIFA has invoked temporary employment and registration rules. So now probably both Ukraine and Russia will be able to play in the world cup.

It is nice that FIFA is trying to accommodate as much as they can the Ukrainian soccer federation, as right now it is impossible to hold a soccer match under the current circumstances.

However if the war drags on it is possible that Ukraine will have to forfeit the match and lose any opportunity to go to the world cup, but at the same time it would be an incredible story if the Ukrainian team could play the qualifiers and made it to the world cup, as without a doubt that would inspire their population during these difficult times they are facing.

But I also understand that postponement is not the solution.

So, I actually agree that Ukraine really needs to come to a decision as fast as possible.
