Mark Magsayo won his fight at super featherweight, 130 lbs, he beat Isaac Avaler via a vicious knockout. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXfQiPR9v_AAlthough there are still some loopholes in Magsayo here, as he was open for counter. But the good thing is that he can take the punch of Avaler because he has a solid chin. But he needs to cover his face at this division because it's going to be very difficult for him if he will face fighters in the top 10. So this person just climbed to a new division after his back to back losses to Rey Vargas and Brandon Figueroa. Although Magsayo has a powerful punch, his fighting style does have many flaws. If he wants to become a champion once more, he needs to change those bad habits. Anyhow, it is good that he returned to the ring and won once more. Perhaps a couple of more matches and he gets a championship match. The title holders are not stable except for Navarette. But Navarrette already in his third division tenure, is beginning to exhibit some weaknesses that could be taken advantage of. But still Navarette is solid as this division and I do not see any advantage of Mark Magsayo over the rest of the champions here. Navarette's volume and output might be too much for Magsayo and he is very open to counter and for sure Navarette will find that opening in their fight. Joseph Cordina is a tall dude, while O'Shaquie Foster is very technical and no offense to the fans of Magsayo as I'm also a fan of him, but Foster is going to make a killing out of him if this face each other. Not to drag Magsayo, but I also believe that this new division is really tough for him, though he won on his debut, and it creates noise and hype with the way he takes down his opponent, but in serious matter, those champs and top ranks' contenders will surely bring him difficulty to move forward. Let's see how he can take this new journey and how far he can reach with the way he showcases his skills and talent.

Regardless of Magsayo being open to counters, his jaw could hold except perhaps from Navarrette. The rest of the champions are not as powerful, but they cannot be denied for their skills. And if Magsayo does not have the stamina to stay dangerous the whole match, the champions will easily win.

I do agree, even if he won in his last fight, he got hit many times thru counters although he didn't take that much damage, but the flaw in his game was very obvious and he can't make the same mistakes with the champion here as he will be knockout most likely with the like of Navarette and other powerful punchers. But if he just wanted to remain on top of the division and earn some good money in this career, he can stay with this division and fight some of the best non-champion. We might see him in one of the great fights but he will surely had a hard time to become a champion, IMHO.

He is rank 7th in WBC wherein the champion is O'Shaquie Foster. Looking at familiar names here: Robson Conceicao ranks number 2. So we should imagine how him and Robson will clash, definitely contrasting style, but who knows, maybe Magsayo can score a upset if they fight. But there are some unfamiliar names in the ranking, maybe that should be Magsayo's target in the top 5 and again, maybe he will have a good chance to defeat them and obviously ranks up.

The good thing about Mark Magsayo is that he is under MP Promotions which takes good care of his career. Though not yet on the top 5 of each sanctioning bodies but somehow he will be there in a few fights due to the connections of Sean Gibbons. I do agree that he still needs a tune-up fight before fighting for a belt even though he was amazing in his last fight.

Rolly Romero: “Now We Know Why Prograis Didn’t Want To Fight Me”https://www.boxingscene.com/rolly-romero-now-we-know-why-prograis-didnt-want-fight-me--179932Once Haney eventually placed the final nail in the coffin, Romero realized that Prograis was a liar. The 34-year-old chalked up his unwillingness to fight Romero as simply having bigger fish to fry. Now, after watching his latest performance, Romero believes he knows the real reason why he was unwilling to swap fists with him.
“Now we know why Prograis didn’t want to fight me,” wrote Romero on his social media account. “He don’t wanna get cracked.” Nah, I don't think that's the reason behind it. Romero cannot boast too much as his win against Ismael Barroso was stopped too early. In my opinion, the referee made a big mistake there as Barroso is still fighting back. Or maybe I didn't see something that only the referee did. But Romero cannot use this as the reason for Prograis not accepting his challenge. Bigger fish to fry. That's what I think Prograis' camp is thinking and also about the money. Anyway, Prograis didn't have much to say about his fight against Haney. All he did was praise the guy and he thinks he is really good. “He’s definitely better than I thought he was, for sure,” Prograis stated during his post-fight press conference. “You know, he does have fast feet, good defense and, you know, he has sneaky power for sure. You know, he doesn’t have the concussive power to like just knock you out like that, but he does have sneaky power to where he can run you into it.” https://www.boxingscene.com/prograis-haney-definitely-better-i-thought-fast-feet-good-defense-sneaky-power--179927Technical boxer. Haney performed a clinic against Prograis and he will definitely learn a lot from that fight. No knockout power but can knock you down and that's a big score in boxing. Still, I like Prograis for not making excuses, he fought well but Haney is better. As simple as that.

Because in those fights, he will have a better chance to win. And that is going to give him the confidence to fight the more popular ones. And I believe that is going to be a wise decision. Because even though he has gone into the top 10 scenes right now, it is going to be hard for him to actually fight a very well-known fighter and actually win. He should not be emotional and think that he can take on anyone. He should think about this more strategically. That is going to give him a better chance to actually win.

Yes, I do agree with this strategy, and I think boxers who are new in the division will have the same approach unless you are going up in weight and you have a unbeaten record like Haney did against Prograis and he beat the hell out of Regis on that fight. In this case, I think Magsayo will really have to stay here and then feel the division with fighter lesser known boxer first and see how it goes for him. And I don't think that the champion or the organization are going to match him very quickly against the champion in WBC. I would say that there are more fighters deserving of or being the mandatory to the champion. But in order for Magsayo to have a crack, he will have to make his way up, the old way, it might take at least 2 fights in my opinion before he will be recognized as a challenger.

^^ Yes, they don't need to rush Magsayo, maybe he still have that sting in his mind about losing his belt and failed to regain it. So for now it like a mental game for him and his team to just get someone in their next fight that he can also beat convincingly.
It could be outside of the top 10 rankings again and then slowly making his name up as he is used to do this before. We never heard him before until he got the championship and then defend it several times, one of the best Filipino champ before.
And with that, in order to regain his status, MP should consider a slow and match making for triple M.

That is great for him. I look at the other three belts and Magsayo is positioned as number 13 by the WBO for the November ratings. I am almost certain Magsayo will enter the WBO top 10 once the evaluations for the December ratings are done. Moreover, who knows if the WBA and IBF will likewise include Magsayo for their December ratings. If he keeps on winning he will get a championship match soon. O'Shaquie Foster has a coming match with Abraham Nova in February. Robson Conceicao had a great performance when he fought Navarette; some even believed he won. The demand is high and we will see Conceicao getting another championship match next year.

Checking on the rankings, Magsayo has broken into the top 10 with this win.
In WBC he is already rank number 7. And yeah, most likely if he keeps on winning his rank will go up and could break top 10 to top 5. But Sean Gibbons doesn't need to rush Magsayo in this division. I do agree that they should pick another tune up fight for him before going into the likes of Robson or Navarette. O'Shaquie Foster has a coming match with Abraham Nova in February. Robson Conceicao had a great performance when he fought Navarette; some even believed he won. The demand is high and we will see Conceicao getting another championship match next year.
This is going to be a good match, either way I will go with Foster winning this fight. Not sure about Robson, he has so many chance to win the belt but he always feel short. Yeah, he did great against Navarette, but the volume punching of Navarette is too much that's why the judges give him the win.

Indeed, there are more deserving fighters who are in-line to have that shot and challenge the champs, unless Magsayo's camp have connections to sell his name from both the promoters and the opposing camp, though that's still far from happening. He needed to fight fighters at the same level and try to create his name from this division. It's a long journey for him after deciding to move up. This previous win might give him credit, but not that much to bring the interest of both fans and promoters.

This previous win might give him credit, but not that much to bring the interest of both fans and promoters. Speaking of that brutal knockout, and as we have seen, Avelar was brought out thru a stretcher and it's not a good scene for us boxing fans. Likewise, with his brutal shots and accuracy, he knocked out Avelar in only the third round of their fight, scheduled for eight rounds. However, while Mark offered a huge KO for the spectators to cherish, the injured Avelar left the ring on a stretcher, barely moving his body. https://www.essentiallysports.com/boxing-news-god-is-in-the-control-of-this-situation-mark-magsayo-join-fans-in-praying-for-the-safety-of-opponent-as-isaac-avelar-leaves-ring-on-stretcher-after-brutal-knockout/So let's join Magsayo in praying that Avelar will be fine and ok after Mark knock him out. And hope that he will recover and be as strong and bounce back.

Yeah, he did great against Navarette, but the volume punching of Navarette is too much that's why the judges give him the win. Cool! Foster is becoming a very active champion and I like it. He might fight 3 to 4 times next year if he remains healthy and of course, he needs to retain the belt to get more attractive fights. This is an intriguing fight for me. Foster has the skills but he struggled in his last fight before he managed to close it in the last round. I only watched one fight of Nova in the past. That was when he got knocked out by now-former champion Robeisy Ramirez at 126. If Nova is a heavy underdog in this fight then I might take a bet. Nova is with Top Rank and the judges might favor him when the rounds are close.

He won unforgettably and he finished his opponent with a deadly move that ended the fight. Looks like he is ready for another high-level opponent that could test his pro boxing skills or maybe a chance for a championship bout. Nevertheless, his next opponent is surely not gonna rush to fight him without any proper training. That knockout is a message for his next opponent that they are in need of new skills to counter that technique in order to win against Magsayo.

Not a brave thing to do as you are the champion, but he take that risk and emerge as the winner. It was very difficult fight for him, but he proved himself as a great champion. I also have my doubts in him, but when he beat Rey Vargas and won the belt, I said that there is something special about this boxer. But let's see, I haven't look at the odds yet, but I do believed that Foster will be a huge favorite going into this fight. Nova lost to Robeisy Ramirez via knockout as you have said, and this could be a factor that the oddmakers are going to look and put him as the underdog.

Knocking out Aguilar cold with a single left hook surely made noise in the division. As indicated by the article from the Ring, Magsayo felt relaxed, comfortable, and stronger in this new division. Pacquiao fought his last battles with PBC and so his promotion is also getting matches and the exposure in USA. MP Promotions is a major factor in the career of Magsayo. They even have plans set already for Magsayo to return in March or April and they are looking for an eliminator. In any case, I am not so sure that the boxing alphabets agreeing on an eliminator for Magsayo.

His opponent absolutely went night night. And you are absolutely right about it being a very deadly move. Anyway, if we talk about his next fight, I think it is definitely going to be someone who is of the top level. And it is also true that he is not going to be fighting Mark on short notice or something like that. I think it is at least going to be one year after the fight gets announced. Or the contract is signed or whatever they do it is.

But it's bad to see a boxer going out in the ring in a stretcher. Anyway, if we talk about his next fight, I think it is definitely going to be someone who is of the top level. One year is too long to look for a potential opponent. Maybe right now they are already looking at the list as to who is the best opponent for him. There are some good names in this division and then perhaps some that he can fight as a stepping stone. It's up to MP on how they are going to guide Mark career in this division, as for sure they want him to be a champion, but it could take careful matchmaking.

Currently, Mark Magsayo seems to be the primary boxer under MP, providing them with the opportunity to secure him good fights. I don't quite comprehend why Casimero left MP. From my perspective, he was getting quality fights under MP, but after leaving, he seemed to struggle in securing high-caliber opponents, resulting in a drop in his ranking. Magsayo appears to have a promising future with MP, as long as he continues to develop himself, he'll be able to come back as a champion.
