Why you guys look down on the Croatian team at first ? A team that was in the last final in Russia with France.
Brazil is no longer the kind of team they used to be in the 90's and early 2000.

Well, you might be correct but not alot of people know or believe this, alot of people come to believe that the Brazilians are the best when it comes to football, which explain why it is always a surprise when they are defeated by another team, this same way that people are surprised that Croatia defeat them today was the same way we all were surprised when Cameroon defeated them in the group stage, maybe indeed, you are right that they are no longer the team that they used to be, but now, the question would be, what happened to them?.

Indeed, like that, many believe that Brazil is the best team this year. We can see in the squad that many players are in big European clubs, but that cannot guarantee their success in reaching the final. Even in the quarter-finals, it is difficult to score goals, but it's a fact that Brazil was unable to make up for it well against Croatia and it can be said that Croatia's weakness has not faded which continues to fight for the final worthy of the 2018 world cup first.
This surprised many people, especially our fans, maybe they understand how Brazil's game dominates more than Croatia's but all is just that any match can happen even though Croatia doesn't have a myriad of great players but solidly they can win even though it's on penalties.

Brazil's failure was because they underestimated Croatia in the last 15 minutes of extra time,

I don't think Brazil underestimated Croatia even after getting the goal. Croatia's midfield has an excellent Modric in this game. and in a tiring match, after scoring a goal, of course, there was a drop in the intensity of the game that Brazil tried to apply. Croatia otherwise had no other choice but to play more open with the last few minutes remaining.
I don't think Brazil's fault is underestimating. it's a long and tiring fight. Croatia had its advantage. because previously their mentality was very strong when they won on penalties against Japan. they have good confidence to win in the penalty shootout.

Argentina have made a really good start to the match. They are in the lead by 1-0 thanks to the goal they scored in the first half. Messi is such an amazing player still. His assist to Molina was really fascinating to watch. I don't know how he sees that small gap and manages to make the ball get past through it. He is just the usual Messi.    Netherlands couldn't do much in the first half so I wonder how good their reaction will be in this half. I don't think we are likely to witness another surprising result tonight.

Argentina have broken the deadlock very early so Netherlands will need to take bigger risks. Argentina have great players Messi being in the first place to benefit from those opportunities. A 2-0 score would just end Netherlands' hopes easily.

I don't think Brazil underestimated Croatia even after getting the goal. Of course they didn't take it completely lightly, but I think if Brazil didn't give space to Croatia in those last minutes then Brazil should have won the match. But unfortunately Brazil did not really close the space for the Croatian players so that goal was created. Also Alison Becker wasn't really good on penalties either, she couldn't make a save and that didn't help.

The Netherlands vs Argentina is currently 0-2. Argentina are almost safe to win the game after they are 2 goals up, but there are still a few minutes to see how it turns out. Argentina will meet Croatia if they win this match, it will be even greater.

Personally, I assume semi-finals games will be between Argentina - Brazil and Portugal - France (England chances aren't that far from France actually).
So my ranking is the following for the final game:
1- Brazil and France
2- Brazil and England
3 - Brazil and Portugal
4- Argentina and one of the previous 3 nations

This is still very unpredicting. All teams have their own strength. Now, Argentina is still playing facing the Netherlands and the result is drawn. There will be penalty kicks. It will be tough for both teams. But, from history, Argentina has had better effects on penalties during the World Cup than the Netherlands. This will be hard enough and pressure moreover for Messi. He will be supposed to be successful in the penalty kick. Moreover, the Netherlands failed in their first kick. I was really surprised when The Netherlands made a goal for drawn in the late time.

Congratulations also to Croatia, this is surprising, Brazil lost in the penalty kicks, whereas, this is the most favorite team to win.

I should have say they may have that chance to make it but I think Argentina won't let them since they're hunger for this victory. I think this will likely be the same outcome on the remaining games from different countries, too tight.

Quite a thrilling match and certainly worth watching in this regard.
Argentina is ready to face last season's finalists (Croatia) for the next round and I expect an even better game from them, especially for their problem, which is always not very good when making defensive schemes.
On the other hand I think that in this game too Di Maria gave a very good contribution even though he played in the last few minutes but his presence was felt on the pitch and the coach has to try something with this player even though he is old.

You can see that the game is going through penalty anyone can win through penalty, and Argentina is leading so Netherlands tried to play 90 minutes and alao end up with penalty likewise the way Brazil played, such wining of penalty is not am offensive wining due to it comes through the way that everyone has played what it knows how to play, and Netherlands i will not say they have not tried, at list they have tried but luck runs against them and favour Argentina in this match, because it was a tough one

Indeed, the Netherlands team fought really hard, the match was really fierce, I could see desperation on both sides, I believe the Argentina team did imagine this match to be an easy win for them before the match began, but the Netherlands really did gave them a tough time, if the Netherlands goal keeper was as good as the Argentina goal keeper, maybe, just maybe we would have witnessed another surprise where Netherlands beats Argentina in a penalty shoot out..
But the luck on Argentina's side was their goal keeper, the guy did really well at the beginning of the penalty shootout, all the same, a big congratulations to Argentina for advancing to the semi-finals, and better luck next time to the Netherlands though I really think they should congratulate themselves for the really did their best.

the netherlands played well able to hold argentina to a draw until the end of the match and even extra time to the penalty shootout, argentina was luckier than brazil who was the seeded to win against croatia on penalties apparently not as lucky as argentina, actually i still don't want to see brazil come home but this is football no one it's impossible to always surprise that all teams deserve to win in this world cup, congrats to argentina

IMO Argentina should have won without penalty kicks. They were winning and lost a point because of a free kick which IMO shouldn't be given. Argentina was clearly better most of the game and finally managed to win, although it was a tough match. Not many people expected such a course of events. Messi even got a yellow card just for arguing. After a rough start in the World Cup Argentina is doing great.

Croatia held Brazil a 1:1 draw which resulted to both teams playing penalties,  while at the of the game Croatia finally won the Brazilian side.
 This was a spectacular performance by the Croatian team entirely, not just only a good job by the keeper or defense.

the nightmare is when Brazil fails to score in a long match, even after so many chances, even when the hope of winning comes from a Neymar goal, it doesn't last either. and finally, in the penalty shootout, they had to concede Croatia's strength. I had thought that, when Brazil didn't win against Croatia in normal time, it would be bad for Brazil to be forced to take a penalty.
however, it was a win for Croatia. they fought hard. and Brazil fans must have been disappointed to see their national team picking up their suitcases.

this is really a surprising thing because Brazil is the favorite because there are many talented players in their team's squad but it's not enough to get past the solid Croatian team.
in the penalty shootout round there are no more favorites, all teams have the same opportunity.
but what is really regrettable is that Brazil was unable to break through Croatia's defense in 90 minutes of normal time, had hopes of winning the match after Neymar scored a goal in the Extra Time round in the 105th minute but in the 117th minute the goal came for Brazil because of Bruno Petkovic able to score after receiving feedback from Mislav Orsic.

What should be appreciated in this match is Luca Modric, he was able to balance the midfield to make Croatia superior in Ballposition and this senior player was also able to become a leader for Croatia, he has been very influential so far in bringing Croatia to the semifinals.

Yes, Modric is an immensely important player and deserve all the good things have been said about him. In this game also, he played so importantly. Even his attitude was good as a somehow leader. Brazil was overrated in this tournament, in my opinion. They had been overrated for the last 5-6 tournaments. Since 2002-2006, I don't think Brazil was the old, dominant Brazil. They were always a disappointment.

Well, who would have thought that Croatia see the semifinals. I have always liked them for years but I think it is quite unexpected. They really deserved it in this game though. Brazil is still Brazil, even though they are not their real self for almost 20 years. Nevertheless, always a dangerous team and it was great for Croatia to win against them and advance to semifinals.

Well, who would have thought that Croatia see the semifinals. I have always liked them for years but I think it is quite unexpected. They really deserved it in this game though. Brazil is still Brazil, even though they are not their real self for almost 20 years. An interesting point is that I realized that the Croatian team was not just a single player that managed to reverse the situation, but the whole team, of course Modric was a decisive player and was the guide for the Croatian team to victory, not to mention that he is already 37 years old and still played very well!

Depending on the situation, if Argentina makes some mistakes and Croatia plays with the same pace and determination as they did against Brazil, Croatia could beat Argentina! (of course this is just my opinion)

Modric is a very influential player for Croatia. Moreover, Croatia is more ready for the penalty kicks, they were calmer enough to get the penalty kicks. And the result, wow, outstanding, they could beat Brazil as well in the penalty kicks. They could break most people's expectations. As we know that Brazil is a favorite team to win this FWC, but Croatia is always ready, they were also the runner-up of the last FWC. Modric always made it great. I can see how sad Neymar is because of this loss, but it is what happened during the FWC, so many dramas.

It's just that the Brazilian national team, instead of simplifying the result, for some reason slowed down and tried to defend this result. And 1-0 is a very slippery score and any mistake in defense can lead to disastrous results, which happened in the end. The Brazilian national team spent the entire World Cup in economy mode, excluding the first half with the Korean national team and paid for it in the end.
