Let me start by saying that the problem of Chelsea is not only the midfielders and defenders but rather the whole problem of the team lies in the hands of the management of the team, Thomas Tuchel was getting good result with same players before he was sack but ever since the arrival of Potter everything has suddenly come backward in Chelsea yet Potter has not been sacked, I think the players are not happy with the current coach and not playing well is the only way to send a message to the management and until they do the right things,  they can't get a positive result even with the big names they are bringing into the team.

I am not so sure that fans understand how common this can be, a great deal of what a coach does has nothing to do with telling their players how to play, as at such a high level there is not much the coach can teach them or tell them which they have not heard already, so most of the work a coach has to do comes down to the personal relationship they can develop with their players, and if it is not good then players can and will boycott them.

Yes, they did get unsatisfactory results, but that was still within reasonable limits when the season had just started. But the management took an ambitious step by immediately sacking him, and now we see the results, they are worse off than the previous coach. I don't know what's wrong with them at the moment, so it's very difficult to show progress.

Management was sacking tuchel too early without even give him more time to prove it. I mean tuchel has been giving chelsea some trophies before. He deserves second chance but that's very sad to see that todd as a new owner of chelsea was not feeling good with tuchel. I meant todd may have personal problem with tuchel. that's why chelsea was sacking him as soon as possible after chelsea faced some defeats in the early season. Todd tried to rebuild chelsea on his own way.
Let's see how good chelsea under him. So many players already bought but we have not yet seen good result from these transfers

The truth is the management has lot to do to see Chelsea up else they will continue with this staggering form and situation. As for the coaching situation at the club, we aren't in the days of the previous owners that only go after high profile managers, Todd Boehly is different and I believe he'll give Graham Potter time to prove himself. Immediately we get our players situation sorted out, I believe the owners will back graham Potter as now he'll have all the ingredients needed to serve us a delicious win every weekend.

The signing of Mudryk for Chelsea came as a distress signing which means he was signed based on emergency and will have to step in immediately for the team. Featuring in the first game for Chelsea against Liverpool he showed us signs he could actually make an impact for the team even with the short time he has to settle in so IMO this shouldn't be a problem on the players side cause he seems ready to go.

So yes, this season has not been good for Chelsea and maybe it will be the last season for Chelsea to play in the Champions League, but in the next few seasons, then of course Chelsea should be able to return to playing in the Champions League.

Well, we aren't even sure yet that they would miss out on CL football next season, but tbh they are very very far from a top four spot in the EPL, so they have only but a glimmer of hope as chances are sky high that they would miss out on finishing in the top four. The other way around it is if they win the CL this season, and thus get an automatic qualification for next season's tournament, but that feat seems beyond them this season.

Having said that, Chelsea signed and will still sign quite a lot of players, i wonder what the atmostphere would be like with all these quality stars if they fail to qualify for the CL. If they had a reliable manager then i would prolly not count them out just yet, but imo Potter isn't the man to take them out of this slump.

they've already spent quite a bit of money on it. and they should have been prepared to raise their game to a better level.

I think it is a bit to late to try and wake up now.Sure in the Champions League it is a different thing than in Premier League because there is only a 2 encounter game that will decide which team to qualify further and any team can come up with 2 good games no matter how bad their condition may be.

The problem though is exactly buying these lots of players and not harmonizing the team for the best performance which is why Chelsea is where it is now.Another problem for them has been the big number of injured players which has impacted them in their results in the Premier League and also somewhat here when they could not win against Salzburg in group stages.

The chances of Napoli getting into the quarter-finals are estimated by the bookmakers as 1.46. To be honest, I'm quite surprised by this estimate, because from the outside it seems that it should be in the region of 1.2-1.25. Eintracht is not a bad club but compared to the phenomenal season that we see from Napoli, they look like obvious outsiders.

Napoli won 5-1 against one of the strongest teams in Serie A, Juventus. And in the next match, they will play against Roma. I would say if a Napoli team can dominate and win against Roma then I think Napoli will continue this streak in the Champions League as well. A Napoli team should not be underestimated this season. They have been performing well since the beginning of the season. After that, Napoli will play against Frankfurt in about 4 weeks. Napoli is expected to win if players do not suffer major injuries.

Napoli are currently having a great performance. All the pillars of the team are playing brilliantly and Napoli are really going for the win. But the match against Roma I think will be very strong. Because Paulo Dybala is in one of the best forms in the Roma team.

What's wrong is injuries, we had about 10+ players that were injuried during the period we weren't getting results and these were players that were in our starting eleven. This is the reason the management panicked on this transfer window to bring on players that can be used in place of this injured players and when this players return form injuries then there'll be a competition on each position so the players can up their games and play to be assured of a playtime at the club.

Thomas Tuchel wasn't any better, that guy took us to 5 finals and we lost two that was better than the other two we won which was the Super cup and club world cup. We lost the FA cup to Leicester and EFL to Liverpool that were very winnable game and this was during the time Chelsea were on their greatest form. Thomas Tuchel is a very stubborn coach that doesn't change his tactic when it isn't going his way. He doesn't play youthful players and didn't have control over the dressing room.

I'm not a Chelsea fan but from my point of view. The problems that occur within Chelsea's body are not that simple. not only midfielders and defense. but as a whole the team, especially the front line which is not too reliable. in fact, Potter tried to make the most of his players, but Chelsea had a lot of problems. unmitigated, 9 core players of whom had to be absent due to injury. not an easy job for Potter, or for Zidan's caliber if he is in charge of Chelsea in the current situation.

Todd, trying to bring in newcomers to get around the situation that is happening within Chelsea. but what Chelsea really needs is not just new ammunition, but the chemistry and mentality that they have to build regardless of how many of their players are injured.

I see Potter has put a lot of effort in, including rotating his players plus tweaking the ideal formation for his team. however, again as I said. it's not easy, IMO maybe Chelsea will reform into a formidable team again in the next season.

that's the plan to recover the performance from chelsea. IMO, the club was losing its chemistry. Potter tried so hard to bring the chemistry back again but some players were not capable enough to make it happen. that's why todd has taken the decision to replace some players that useless for the club. Potter tried to solve the problems that happened with chelsea. I think that if you are aware if it's not only potter but todd was also intervening with the team with his decision too.
Potter has been trying some strategies to make chelsea go up again but it's not yet worked. that may take more time for potter to make it happen with the help by new players.

Management's one big mistake having negative impact on all unit and now things are now under control with Graham Potter is trying to have better results, but it's not working on short run because now if he wants to have better results then surely he needs good players and better strategy which needs time like we have in Arsenal case or if they want quick results like Manchester United they have to be aggressive in their approach and just bring their required players with exit of many players which are not having any contribution in near future.

But I have feeling Graham Potter is not having mind like this for doing all things aggressively he will take time, and then we will be able to have better results even we can lose few things in this season or have no chance for the next season's Champions League spot as well because this all is hanging around and time is running out quickly.

There is no doubt recently Chelsea having big mess up specially after sacking of Thomas Tuchal because now new coach is trying to off load all players which were bought by him and bringing his players which can give him better performance and results even this all is not easy and needs time with waste of good amount as well but if they are going to have better results and taking back their top rank this all could be amazing and no headache for the management as well because they need good results and wins which are possible just with the quality performance and good players.

Right now, time is running out quickly which is also issued for them because currently they have few days before they are going to face Borussia Dortmund which is having good start in Bundesliga and things are looking interesting for these both teams before this big class hopefully fans will be able to have good soccer.

Have spent much money for transfer but Chelsea can't back to the top fourth standing in Primer League and have the same situation with Liverpool. Dortmund success won last match in Bundesliga and Chelsea be careful if want qualify to next round they have back to the top performance, enough with inconsistency and most goals conceded in Primer League to make better performance in Champion League round 16 held on middle February.
