This is not hard to explain.  Miners are paying attention to profitability and right now DMD is one of the most profitable coins to mine, even though the difficulty has increased substantially in the last month or so.  Mining calculators like CoinWarz basically point miners with GPU mining equipment to DMD.

Consider two points.  First, DMD value to Bitcoin has more than tripled in recent weeks.  That alone will attract miners.  But in addition, new mining software has increased the hash rate that can be squeezed out of each GPU.  When I first began mining DMD back in April I was getting about 6 mh/s out of my R9 290s.  Now I am getting 22 mh/s with sph-sgminer that Pallas optimized and 18.6 mh/s out of grs-sgminer.  These improvement have compensated for the higher difficulties and then some.

Unlike ASIC mining which requires a new investment in mining equipment, these software improvements have extended the life of all of my GPUs.  I may actually break even now!

I think that it is too early to rejoice. I do not understand how full of filthy urocoin may be more expensive Diamond.  Undecided

@Danbi
coins/diamondcoin peermagic's not working anymore, NOMP pool cant connect via p2p anymore ... what is up with that?
only RPC polling working ...

Could you elaborate on that?

The peer magic codes I posted earlier in this thread is what Diamond wallet uses. It works fine on my pools and has not been changed at least since v2.0.

If you need detailed NOMP instructions, I could post again, but my NOMP installation is not very up to date -- they might have changed the software in some incompatible way...

Hehe - No problem.  I was getting all "booo's" on Danbi's pool last night so I figured I would give a US based pool a try.  So far so good.
Yeah I am having connectivity issues with Danbi's pool also, sometimes it takes over a minute for frontend to respond to anything LOL and yeah high rejects lately ... and a lot of stratum connection to pool interrupted's
I quota mine all DMD groestl pools Smiley so I can adjust how huch hashrate I am sending to each, right now 85% going to alpha testing Smiley

This is because someone is trying to play games with the web server. I am very far away currently and do not want to risk with remote repairs of issues like this, but it will be fixed very soon.

But the rejects, I don't see myself. I run few miners off the pool to check how it is performing. Might be some network related issue.

NOMP has been updated, not sure what changed but peermagic stopped working way back when I was running NOMP pool, worked at first ...
Glad to have miningfield helping me with MPOS Smiley I'm still a mpos newb lol
he did not even know there was peermagic for dmd ...

Yeah I love mining direct to my pool and near 0 ping
And local managment is great too
I have the codes written down on papernotes and they match what I have on new pool
plz post a link back to msg with info, I can't remember how far back it was ...

redis, nomp ,mysql, mpos all latest incarnations here ... node.js is also v0.10.32 now, previous pool had v0.10.30

could be that I made a mistake when I wrote them down.

2014-10-13 18:20:34 [Pool]   [diamondcoin] (Thread 2) p2p cannot be enabled without peerMagic set in coin configuration

    "peermagic" : "e4e8dbfd"

Ahh I see a potential prob, fixing and trying a restart of nomp

nope Sad case fixing to peerMagic

did not help

I found something else googling, I forgot to write down peermagictestnet ...

added "peerMagicTestnet" : "edf2c0ef"

and still getting :
2014-10-13 18:40:34 [Pool]   [diamondcoin] (Thread 1) p2p connection failed - likely incorrect p2p magic value

so ... I am stuck with RPC polling only until u figure this out Sad

Any idea what this is:
2014-10-13 19:16:37 [Pool]   [diamondcoin] (Thread 2) Malformed message from (unauthorized) [117.25.128.139]: Cookie: mstshash=g

http://www.tcpiputils.com/browse/ip-address/117.25.128.139

Not much help there, but it is in China

is there any way I can examine the malformed message Huh

I suppose I'll have to have some TCP logging of some sort and wait for another one ... only get it a couple times a day ...

EDIT: this from Poolwaffle:
Looks fine, anything could be a malformed message, as long as it doesn't conform to exactly what NOMP was expecting.  So if you connected and just sent "{a:a:a:a:A:a:a:a:a:]" to it, it would probably break and spit out the same line of text (malformed message).  Assuming there isn't a flaw in how NOMP parses the data coming in, its just garbage data...

Anyone have any experience with the AsRock 970 Extreme 4 MB?  I just put a rig together using this board and I am experiencing some strange problems when running multiple GPUs.  I am having a problem with a GPU plugged into the PCIE4 slot.  It starts up and as the hash rate builds to peak it shuts down.  sgminer declares its sick and disables it.

I can run GPUs in the other PCIE slots with no problems.  But this one slot seems to be a bit finicky.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit and the AMD 14.9.1 beta driver package.  Some problems with 13.12 driver package.

I know this is a long shot but I am hoping there is a trick to getting this to work and someone out there know it.

Thanks.

P.S. Its not the power supply.  I have two power supplies connected using the ADD2PSU module for a total of 1400 watts - way more than I need for 4 R9 290s.  I tested both PSUs and they are fine.

and u change GPU between slots so its sure its not a faulty GPU?
u run powered riser cables? did ya try switch riser cable between slots to find out if the cable is the problem?
i had on my 6x 280 one card too which got faulty from time to time it was the card not the slot
and on a 3x 750ti mini rig i had troubles with a riser cable after change it problems solved

Check out our new DMD Cloudmining and DMD Multipool Stat Graphs
http://multipool.bit.diamonds/

Could there be a better motivation to join DMD Cloudmining?

http://multipool.bit.diamonds/
cloud@bit.diamonds

whats the best way to invest into DMD
in my opinion u should split ur investment
50% direct buy DMD and 50% into dmd cloudmining
this way u maximize ur profit and stabilze the coin upwards trend
and get additional DMD over time not only from POS but also from DMD Cloudmining
http://multipool.bit.diamonds/
cloud@bit.diamonds

if ya invest into DMD cloudmining
make sure u tell me a wallet of a already existing DMD cloudmining user
so u and he get bonus shares

im sure u will find such a wallet if ya ask in this thread if u found us without referal
this way u still can get the bonus shares

I tried every iteration of GPUs and slots.  I also switch riser cables around.  None are powered and I do not believe they need to be with just 3 GPUs.  In any case, I am running 3 in other slots with no problems.  Only PCIE4 is giving me problems.  I can run 1 GPU without any problems and I tried this with every GPU and all worked fine.  I also ran a video memory test on all the GPUs and found no errors.

The only consistent factor in everyting I have tried is that the card in PCIE4 is the one that eventually gets sick and shut down by sgminer.

I seem to remember somtheing about PCIE4 on Asrock H81 PRO will have to look for it again, I have on-chip GPU on G3220 and have it enabled.  Have not yet tried installing GPU's yet in slots, got new 900W PS in delivery today and it is a DOA Sad
So I reinstalled boneyard 350W PS and can not run GPU cards yet Sad  But from what I remember it has to do with the on-chip GPU ...

You can mine with the Intel HD GPU Smiley if you have another GPU card installed, AMD will be on gpu-platform 0 or 1 and Intel on 1 or 0 ...

What model GPU ?

How much power your PSU ?

Confirm its a motherboard issue by swopping a good riser and GPU to the bad slot and if it goes bad you know its motherboard.

What I do with my rigs where I run 5 GPU on a motherboard, win8 and install NO drivers let windows take care of it and it works perfect. I run 2 x 1000W psu per motherboard.

best mobo i found was a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 with a cheap ass semperon CPU. no problems at all running 5 GPU.
