there is not a single reason why we cant switch our POW to something where hashrate can produce data with additional value too in the future
as soon as a algorithm will appear that allow that we will analyze it careful and most likely implement it

there is a reason our coin is not named after a algorithm (which is a bad idea because it trap the coin to stick with that algorithm)
we have the knowledge how to switch algorithm  and be able keep existing blockchain
we did it in the past and we can do it in the future to what in our opinion  serve us best

but for now this is not planed in the next few months

on direct buy from sell orders and to less on placing buy orders


the dump from 0.00065 to 0.00050 did take only 700 DMD dumped into buy orderbook

if ya plan to invest into DMD Diamond i suggested a lot times go 50% buy DMD 50% buy DMD Cloudmining shares

the low filled buy orderbooks will lead to price jumping between 0.00050 and 0.0072

lower price is good news for DMD Multipool and DMD Cloudmining
i suggest u place buy order in orderbook instead of direct buy DMD
and move the buy order higher every few hours
until u start to get insta-selling miners dumping their coins into ur buyorder

I am a total noob to the diamondcoin wallet. And I have a big problem. My wallet is out of sync: I am stuck at 35725 blocks left. The last block was received 25 days ago ! What can I do ?

I tried deleting all files except the wallet.dat and the database folder and tried a full resynch. No use. I am very anxious since I had just made a transfer of DMD to my wallet and of course, they don't show up since my wallet is out of sync...

I remember I once had a similar problem: wallet stopping at a specific block.
Just shutting down and reopening the wallet did the trick, back then.

please download the latest wallet again
( diamond-qt-2.0.4.exe even if urs have same name download it again
there was a wrong wallet with same name very shortterm for download at 2.0.4 release day)

Thx for the detailed answer. I deleted my Diamond folder entirely. Redownloaded the wallet (although I had already tried that), changed the current wallet.dat file with my old one which I had backed up. And I  am going to try to change blockchain although I might need some help on how to do that. I hope I will still have the DMD I had sent to my wallet once everything functions ( I had sent them 2 weeks ago from Cryptsy: haven't seen the balance change because wallet out of sync all the time).

when u click the unlock button in the popup u can select for minting only
this prevent someone who have physical access to u PC to make transactions via wallet UI

be carefull when u send a transaction in this mode
because when u enter the password in the transaction the UI is unlocked and stay unlocked

so u need to lock wallet and unlock again in minting mode to have UI locked again

rework the unlock for minting is in our todo list

as pallas said u can do all lock unlock operations via console too
