Did anyone notice how BTC/Stamp and XMR/Polo charts look almost identical?
XMR will be at the same level as BTC AND HIGHER in the future. New and improved! BTC = Gold (store of value but not many industrial use) XMR = Platinum (more rare and many industrial uses) Promise? Is it true? Well.. No..

Interesting, XMR is the only coin in the top 15 (it is 4th) without a BTC address listed to pay for votes. https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes/Shows how well it actually is doing... IAS You can still buy cryptsy point to vote, but indeed interesting to see. Also #2 and #3 are pretty much dead if you look at coinmarketcap.com. Are you sure you can buy cryptsy points? I didn't see any way to do so. I read that the way to earn them is by trading. See for yourself here: https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes/Alternatively, we are also accepting CryptsyPoints as part of our paid vote program (5 votes per CryptsyPoint). After you cast your free vote, you will then have the option to vote again with your CryptsyPoints as often as you like. i don't use cryptsy but i think what pa is asking is "how are cryptsypoints obtained?" as far as i can tell you cannot buy them directly, they are earned as a bonus from trading and holding funds on cryptsy. therefore, these are not necessarily "paid votes" in my book, as outsiders cannot artificially drive up votes, they have to come from real cryptsy users. edit: i was corrected, i see you can buy them here. https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/120

And Monero is one of the few on that list which cannot be directly voted up by paying (no donation address). Of Ripple 16.4k votes are paid (of the 23.4k votes total). So Menero is already first on the list.

Cryptsy? Nice. But I think this news are much more important: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=597878.msg9046138#msg9046138This will be the first fiat/XMR-markets! As mentioned in their FAQ it neccessary to deposit/withdraw larger amounts of fiat (i. e. > 100 EUR). So, I sent a ticket asking to btc-e add Monero and the answer was very confuse, they said to not disclose if pairs are to be added/removed before they are, it could be a generic answer and they do not give 2 satoshis about Monero or they didn't wanted to spoil the surprise Post the exact reply.

Hello, Sorry, but we cannot talk anything about addingdeleting any pairs. If we decide to addremove any pair you will see annoncement in our news. Hmm..I'm leaning towards just a generic response, I don't think BTC-e remembers how to add coins.

IMO begging like other coins beg will get us nowhere. XMR seems to have a lot of connections. If somebody knows somebody who knows the owners of the site (I believe they were interviewed by coindesk once). Then perhaps setting up a meeting where some of the more senior people involved with the coin (NewLiberty, Risto, TacoTime, etc) just explained the strengths of cryptonote, the fair launch of XMR & explained what we're trying to do would get us closer. This might not be even close to possible. I just think it's the only way XMR gets added to BTC-E anytime soon.

I started a blockchain sync from scratch on a linux machine and I noticed these two lines: 2014-Oct-02 19:17:27.194991 [P2P0]Failed to get remote endpoint: Transport endpoint is not connected:107 2014-Oct-02 19:17:27.195747 [P2P0]ERROR /home/ric/bitmonero/contrib/epee/include/net/abstract_tcp_server2.inl:638 [sock 49] Failed to start connection, connections_count = 45 Doesn't look like a serious problem, but just for the ease of mind I'd like a confirmation from someone who knows.

I already talked to someone connected with BTC-e a while ago, they said they aren't really interested in adding new coins (rather, they're trying to still remove old and shitty alts).

Monero belongs to no one, no one is begging, BTC-e owners are not public and IMO that exchange is way over-rated, Cryptsy is more important now. And they have fiat pairs. To me Poloniex is a GREAT exchange - far better than Cryptsy. But it's a US exchange. Probably the nosiest government with the best eavesdropping technology available. Not the ideal for the XMR audience. BTC-e has the whales who wish to remain unkown & I'm convinced they are largely the reason litecoin grew the way it did. It is an ecosystem of an exchange that wish to remain unkown with a large userbase that wishes to remain unkown. I already talked to someone connected with BTC-e a while ago, they said they aren't really interested in adding new coins (rather, they're trying to still remove old and shitty alts).
Ah - thanks for the info. I like their approach although it did always puzzle me why they never added doge & kept some of the dead coins.

As I imagined, forget about BTC-e unless you want BTC/LTC. Guess we get the US exchange for the anon coin & the BCX exchange for the coin BCX tried to destory. The irony is painful.

If any of this has any relevance to Monero, I can't find it. Why are you posting about darknote here? Probably because jwinterm brought it up and subjected the topic to extensive criticism: After messing with the other two significant Cryptonotes recently, here is my opinion on the issues du jour: emission rate change and dev compensation.
The other two, Duck/Darknote and Boolberry, currently offer more features and/or faster syncing. Darknote now has encrypted, on blockchain messaging (which seems to be possibly a bad idea if it can be spammed) and the blockchain moved out of memory (full disclosure, I don't have the wallet).
However, the advantage Monero currently has over the other two is that it seems to have a much fairer distribution of coins. This is more difficult to analyze than traditional bitcoin clones due to the anonymous nature of the transactions.
Darknote is already 73% mined out after several months of a much smaller network hashrate compared to Monero, and I think it was something like 50% of coins emitted after only the first month. This is purportedly to head off asics before they have a chance to be designed and manufactured for cryptonight algo (assuming this ever happens), however it reeks of instamine imo, which is why I don't even bother downloading the wallet.
Boolberry is the more interesting competitor to Monero imo, despite currently having a significantly lower market cap than Darknote (I would argue this is a function of instaminers holding a large portion of coins ever mined, waiting for more buy support before dumping some/all their coins from the coin's first month of existence).
So, that leaves Monero as the most fair. Mostly due simply to its much greater popularity and trade volume, but also due to the factors mentioned above. I just feel like messing with coin emission, or chucking in a 1% "post-mine" block, or anything else like that will greatly risk the trust that has grown around the dev team and the community in general, and would possibly create an opportunity for someone to fork Monero (or Darknote or Boolberry), and try to position itself as THE Cryptonote with a legitimately fair distribution.
Yes some of dNote's posts are surreal, but surely you know how to follow a quote chain upstream Or do you only favor the right of response when XMR partisans visit other CN threads to 'correct' misinformation?
