That error is definitely caused by the blockchain not being synched. In the daemon, type "save" (without quotes) and hit enter. Wait until you see the message that you are now synched. Then save again.

This happened to me as well. After you see the message that you are synched, try exiting the daemon and restarting it, and again wait until you see the synch message, then save, then start hashing.

Today I first time heard about the FCN. Can you tell me competitive advantages of this coin

In addition to what the other posters said, other advantages include:

  • Anonymous transactions using cryptonote technology
  • CPU-based. I see that as an advantage because many people are not doing this, giving you a greater potential to getting coins
  • Can be merged mined (MM) with other coins

Using Bitcoins involves  anonymous transactions, isn't it? What then is the advantage of FCN?  Huh

That's a long way off, but it will happen to all coins eventually, including Bitcoin. Then, miners will still make money from the transaction fees, and if you're holding the coins, some exchanges are starting to pay interest on them. And, as you can do now, you can buy/sell/trade coins in person or via exchanges.

No, Bitcoin is not anonymous. It's pseudo-anonymous: https://bitcoin.org/en/you-need-to-know

Fantomcoin is a true anonymous coin.

Are you using the latest version of SoloMiner? It was released just recently.

Also, what is your OS?

Thank you for the post! Sent you reward.

Regarding the problem, I will definitely look into this, since both MRO and FCN have the same hash function.

Cheers.

What binary must I use in the new Mac download to mine on a Mac? There are only two files in the download - the daemon and simplewallet. Must I use the MRO simpleminer but with the Fantomcoin arguments?

with current difficulty it takes only ~5.5h to get a block with 60h/s. and 60h/s is decent i5.
