I hope miners fix is going to be implemented soon, in the meantime you can use Minergate's client to mine FCN with a currency you prefer

can we mine this coin in a pool?
Yes! Today Minergate.com pool introduced merged mining option! You can mine FCN with any CryptoNote coin you want. It's a first MM pool implementation there is and we're very grateful for it! Is it possible to MM FantomCoin and LiteCoin?? Or just to choose from BCN, MRO and QCN? Litecoin is not CN coin, so just choose from available ones like you've said : BCN, MRO and QCN.

Litecoin is not CN coin, so just choose from available ones like you've said : BCN, MRO and QCN. It is possible to mine both of them as they use different resources. FCN uses CPU and Litecoin uses GPU. But its meaningless as CPU will be overwhelmed.

For the CPU, mine FCN or another CN coin with simpleminer, minerc, or SoloMiner. For the GPU (Litecoin), use cgminer or a similar miner. The mining app itself (such as cgminer) will use hardly any of your CPU because the mining is done on the GPU. About 1.5 years ago, I mined BTC on the GPU and mined LTC on the CPU of the same computer...no problems.

Since this coin is trading at about 20% of QCN and 8% of XMR... Despite having a valuable feature (though maybe tricky to use)... Anybody care to comment... or have ideas for optimizing the price.

Jesus... Sweet times. Warning: nostalgic wave incoming. Yes, it did give me a nice nostalgic moment for about 3 minutes --remembering even mining BTC on whatever CPUs I could find and even borrow -- until I glanced back at my work inbox and was pulled back into the craziness

My guess is that not having a pool until today probably hurt, but now pools are starting to pop up and there are more devs involved. All good signs.

That's nice news! I believe Apple see great perspectives of these currencies..otherwise they wouldn't implement it.

Loved the quote: "It looks like Apple saw the incoming bitcoin tsunami and decided that they better be ready for it rather than get washed away."

Is it possible that there is a difference in mining speed under Windows & Linux on the same system?? Only if you are mining with antivirus turned on
