Today I realized that the creation of Fantomcoin is the best breakthrough in 2014 thanks to merged mining. It allows to use resources effectively and as miner I like to use this feature.

Is there any development going on for this coin?
Yes, this coin is in active development. I'm not one of them, nor do I speak for them, but I've been a fan since the first week and I've kept up with what's going on. Another developer was added around a month ago and that's usually a very good sign.

I didn't even know that another developer  was added. It sounds really promising

Do I understand right?
If someone wants to hack Fantomcoin, he needs to attack all CN-based coins (with which it is mined in the blockchains). It increases the Fantomcoin safety.

When you MM two types of coins, your contributions are diversified. Thus you reduce the risks of hacking and  risks of falling exchange rate

After takeoff last week the price of FCN has increased by almost 50%.  It's profitable to each of us Wink

Where did you get the information about the 50% price increase?

Yes, development of  SoloMiner is a contribution to the development of all CryptoNote coins. Therefore Fantomcoin plays an important role in the development of alternative cryptocurrencies

24-hour Volume: 0.06410263 BTC / 979.51261754 FCN

0.45 btc of support

No sign of the dev team since a month

Should we declare this coin dead already?

I'm very curious about potential for merge mining, though I don't hold fcn right now... what's been people's experienced with it and what kind of return could be expected from merged? there is a lot of raving about the concept but i can't myself imagine or find ideas of numbers..

Incorrect. It has been less than a week since one of the devs (Bitcoinbear) posted. Besides, devs are best left to do what devs do best: developing the software (FCN). I'd rather have a dev doing than that spending a large amount of time here.

Merged mining (solo mining for 2 coins at once) gives you the exact same rate of return for Coin A if you mine Coin A and Coin B together (or B and A). There is no loss in processing power for merged mining. If you can mine Coin A with 100h, then you can merge mine Coin A and Coin B both at 100h each.

FCN is the first cryptonote coin to implement merged mining, but the concept has been around. Namecoin can be merge mined with Bitcoin, for example. That's been going on for at least 20 months.

i'll pm bitcoinbear about this, i guess they are pretty busy with the development. we should somehow up a fcn trading volume.

tired of identical bitcoin forks? try out BCN - no ASICs, no transaction tracking https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=512747.0

Bittrex took FCN off the delisting list. Everything is great Smiley

How can you say that the coin is dead? The system works and it develops. If you miss some updates, it doesn't mean that "the world stands on the site"

c789, I'm wondering about your professional opinion about MonetaVerde. It is second CN-based merged mining coin. It is better Fantomcoin or not?
