Hey guys, sorry for this issue, it has been a pain. The exchanges, supernodes, block explorer, most nodes are on the correct chain, but some are not after the supernodes went down. We have upgraded the protocol version of this wallet to protect against being on the wrong chain. Please uninstall, clear appdata folder leaving wallet and conf, and install this version if you are not in sync with explorer, or have the checkpoint error. If you are in sync with explorer and don't have checkpoint error, then just install new version, you don't need to clear the blockchain. If you go to console in help after install it says 1.4.1.2. This should resolve any remaining issue. Thanks and sorry for the bother. If you have the old wallet 1.3.4 you can experience the same problem, you should upgrade.

Block Explorer: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/vrc/#

New windows wallet: http://www.vericoin.info/downloads/VeriCoin_1.4.1.exe

New Mac wallet: http://www.vericoin.info/downloads/VeriCoin_1.4.1.pkg

This is the main links on the site as well, new bootstrap coming you can wait for, or just start downloading the chain normally by opening the wallet.

I downloaded the latest linux wallet and it is still 1.4.1.1

Should be up now

Last block reading in my wallet is 243662.. chains.cryptoid.info/vrc shows 243112; i have 26 active connections.. are we all on a different block? - just read the vericoinforums -- am downloading and syncing 1.4.1.2 now

I,m gonna start the ball rolling here about the RETURNED in ESCROW 500k coins...

I donated several k in coins and for what purpose, a contingency that never was resolved. And I also missed out on the Supernet UNITY malarky one HOUR dead line. email YOU SERIOUS ?

So my coins your coins, James clearly you said gift back to the community, Great well done glad it worked out for all UNITY/SUPERNET holders)...
What will happen to this gift?.   PLEASE dont say it was or still is a token of faith. Towards this 1.3 what ever it is 2.5 mill needed in future, or coins for James.
I wanna know what do i get for my contribution (apart from waiting for a shopping mall type web site/interface or place too be in digital escrow with snazzy applications BC2 etc).

what about using the funds instead of just sitting there idol?.
I have Kids i need to feed for example and need to cash out or sell my coins in the bountie for ?.
Make plans start using it to get unity shares for those of us that missed out. ?
Engage a team to use the coins to reap an income?.

Give it back?.

You didn't donate any coins, you locked in the right to sell at 10k satoshi when the price hits 50k. The original plan had that happen, then the rest of the coins would be transferred to James. Since James said the community could decide the fate of the coins, once the price hits 50k, we will refund 20% (10k) and then the community will decide the fate, instead of James.

In regards to the SuperNET Unity purchase, James allowed us to raise funds until the deadline, which was in the morning where I live. I didn't get your message of interest until after I woke up, and 1 hour before the deadline. I'm sorry about that, but there wasn't anything I could do since James had a deadline set for the end time in order to generate the proper amount of TOKEN.

Support the VeriFund Endowment.

Lol, so many accepted BTC doesn't means they are accepting VRC. Their is ton on crypto currencies.
So every crypto holder will think like that.

Yeah they do accept Bitcoin but what if you only have VRC and no Bitcoin?  Then you can pay with your VRC.  That's what he was getting at.

Not much news here lately.

But no wonder there is no news when the whole crypto market is in a bit of chaos. Probably Bitcoin will survive and consolidate terms of its presence in everyday life, but all these interesting experiments like Litecoin, Vericoin, Blackcoin, Viacoin, etc. will disappear and of course Supernet too. No usage for these aforementioned altcoins whatsoever (we discussed in this and other threads lengthy that slightly better functionalities like quicker transaction time, more attractive wallet, etc. mean no real advantage over Bitcoin), users can do fuck all with altcoins, therefore the altcoins must and will disappear. Sorry, I wish I could bring a better news for you my fellow vericoin bagholders :-))

I think you're too pessimistic. Most altcoins won't go to the moon, but they won't disappear either. There is a community of die-hard supporters around every moderately successful coin and they don't run away because the price goes down -- they go down with it!

I was not commenting from price viewpoint and I have no doubt that Vericoin, Blackcoin, Pinkcoin, Doge and others will survive as a social club - people are clearly having great time to involve with the process and do the radios, forum software development and all social aspects of the coin, and in that sense I agree with you that it will survive, but it can't be more than a social club. Altcoins are not investment vehicles nor innovation platforms (Ethereum does the innovation not these fairly useless BTC/LTC clones). Since the altcoin has no real world usage (except the social club aspect), there is no point to have any, and therefore in a year time no altcoins will be around. That was the altcoin story. Even Bitcoin struggle to get started, but of course BTC will be eventually OK, but in my opinion there are still lots of disappointments ahead even with Bitcoin.

The expectations that vericoin will be mass adopted just because you can pay with vericoin via the Veribit feature wherever Bitcoin is accepted have been proved nothing more than fantasies. Even seemingly good ideas, intelligent and transparent teams mean nothing when there is no real usage for the currency. Actually the period from the start of Vericoin until this October was the make it or break it for altcoins, and in my opinion all of them failed. But that's fine, the idea was good and sensible and it was a good try :-))
