Sure i read earlier this morning new wallet? was this correct or did i miss read something.

i don't think so, i think there is just a minor fix in the code needing done, not requiring a new wallet or another fork.
I think we are all good with regards to the wallet now.

Everything is working fine Smiley

Let's pump the price ppl stop selling it so cheap ..!?!

Think !

it's OK for now, the low price has helped with distribution - toprichlist is now more evenly spread.
i'll continue to buy Sync as and when I have the BTC to invest, but for now, the low price isn't an issue really, we are still in distribution phase, where most coins do worthless giveaways (which devalue the coin) - we have played our trolls well, they have dumped at low prices and as a result, more people have invested in Sync.

all is well  Grin

It's all very good at the moment. At first, it was a challenge just to get that 1 Sync. Now, I think even 10 might be possible to achieve.. Some time during this week!

I'd say Coolcoin is at least comparable to SyncCoin. Their POS has been rolling along very smoothly since the beginning, off course they've never been POW and their distribution method is questionable, but perhaps we could use some of their parameters to get our blockchain rolling a little bit smoother?

just get my stake again  Grin

Sorry is this has been answered before, what is the min coins that must be in the wallet for staking?

there shouldn't be a minimum, i'm a bit puzzled if it has been coded this way, and why (?)
stake is random for everyone but you should see your coins stake at some point within 30 days of arriving in your wallet.

So what i just dont understand, and again sorry for repeating a question asked before, why is my coins not maturing. Most of the transactions have 70+ confirmations

Are your wallet in sync , whats your block number now?
Does the wallet encrypted? If yes, have you unlock it?
When was the last deposit and withdrawal? in hours.

Block 8330

Unlocked for stake

Last deposit bout 24 hours 77 confirms

any withdrawal after last deposit?

Yea i made one small one when i included the tx fee, but that is still 3 out of 5 confirms

so sum up all withdrawal after last deposit, is it more than last deposit?

Yea i just send some small amount from my wallet with the tx fee

So it is smaller the the deposit

have you use this  in send

No

I cant 100% sure, but this maybe the reason.
Let me explain a little bit about how withdrawal works.

1. You deposit 1 Sync to Address A.
2. You make a send action of 0.2 Sync from Address A to  Address B.
3. The wallet will
    a. send 0.2 Sync to Address B.
    b. send 0.8 Sync to a new address, Address C. (Address C is your address.)

Your 0.8 Sync is in Address C instead of Address A now.
That mean you changed address and discarded all the coinage.
As a result, wait another 6 hours for the 0.8 Sync in Address C to meet the min coinage requirement.

Again, I cannot confirm the problem is 100% because of this reason.
Try to use custom change address next time. (It is the Address A in the above case.)

i think we all look back on the PoW period with a little pride to know that we did actually manage to accrue some amount of Sync.. it was a fun time but it ain't going to come around again, historically, we broke records, we get listed on MP without any bribe and as a community we have ensured a wide distribution.
Anything which we can pick from the open sources can only be good for the evolution of Sync.. and now that you have thrown down the 10Sync gauntlet... haha, i'm in!

Yes, it's kind of oscillating isn't it? It's fast in periods, then slow again.. As if it had some hysteresis setting totally wrong.

Sure i read earlier this morning new wallet? was this correct or did i miss read something.

i don't think so, i think there is just a minor fix in the code needing done, not requiring a new wallet or another fork.
I think we are all good with regards to the wallet now.

So, how would this be achieved / where would you expect that code to sit?  Unless there is something totally different about Sync and it's not decentralized, the wallet code (or daemon if headless) IS the only code.

You don't need a new wallet evrytime the code is updated

Hmmm, you do if you want the updated code to be deployed.   If it's something cosmetic that has no affect on the network then that's fine, I agree you would not *need* to update.

But if nobody updates to the new code then there is no new code. If 1% update then 1% of the network is running new code and 99% is running old code.  A change does not propagate itself.

fair enough, i was under the impression that it was possible - for example, if the only issue is block-time confirmations, it would have been a matter of just changing the parameters for that particular part. You are clearly more knowledgable that I on the matter - I did manage to set up my first node yesterday, but in no way should I profess to know what i'm doing with code - it makes me dizzy  Cheesy

I'm one of those with the perpetual "Not staking because you don't have mature coins" people.  I've been coding for 35 years and have looked at the code but I'm afraid C++ is not my native language and I have neither the time nor patience to learn it.  There is definitely something unintended happening, or certainly the wallet is not behaving within the stated parameters of the coin.

I have the latest wallet, it's up do date (currently block 8340).  I had a transaction come in (well over 6 hours ago) so I know the network is working and I had a positive balance for several days before that.  If we can just get over this one hurdle then there's nothing wrong with the coin and hopefully it will recover.

We are in the same boat

If some coins have more than 1000 confirmations / 6 hours and they are still not mature, there's definitely a bug somewhere. Even the smallest transactions in my wallet matures and are occasionally taken out for stake. Are you on a Mac-wallet? I know the Mac wallets have been suffering more than the other wallets. Perhaps the Mac compiler are using some of the types slightly different than the others? A "word" isn't always a "word", and when it comes to "doublewords" they are almost always different.
