@ Kora I agree. The vision is great and we need many strong participants who are willing to actually work to help improving the project. A solid foundation.
@ Sinohe88 I really do hope you continue to be involved in this project because you clearly know what's up. Thanks for backing up the strategy about keeping the entry data hidden for now. I'd imagine it's very frustrating for sockpuppets but good for everyone else. Transparency is good, telling everybody how to cheat is not good. I think we've been striking an excellent balance so far. Few complain and people over PM are happy. Because of this method of doing things I also disagree with the notion that people would "learn" how to cheat, but I get what you're saying. People get more time to actually think things through, perhaps even organize (in a negative way). But I'm not too worried about that, I'm more concered about keeping the great momentum we've built up. Just like we've balanced the issue regarding transparency we must also balance the number of users we'd like to have VS the time it'd take to actually obtain them. Like Kora mentioned, we already got quite a large list.
A deadline of x days sounds very reasonable to me. The form has already been live for 5 days straight so if we would decide for say 5 more days then that would make it over a week.
I don't know, I'll let Kora analyze the activity data I sent him earlier today. It naturally displays a great decline in submissions since the opening. How much more in the coming days, nobody knows yet. But I think it might feel more natural to set a deadline like you're suggesting, rather than a new goal in terms of numbers. We could also still techincally say, yes it's still open for 3000 people, but now we got an end date as well. I mean we can't do magic. Combined with a minimum amount to ensure we get a real community, for example 1000 users.

This could potentially be useful for branding and marketing and a underlying theme. It's close enough, nice symbolism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koru(I'm getting a little bit sick and bored with all the pyramids (A) and inverted pyramids and references to NWO like in Ethereum for example.)

If you should decide to code Kora in plain C, take a look at Daniel J. Bernstein's NaCl library: http://nacl.cr.yp.to/

Nice idea. We should have a vote later, once we get some other submission(s) for a logo/general theme.

New (valid) registrations have just become fewer and fewer. The first two 48 hours were an explosion, now it has almost reached a total stop. I've calculated that at this current rate we might reach 3000 valid applications about 1 year from now. So um yeah. I'd suggest we just go ahead and decide for an end date instead. Close the list, then I (and perhaps Kora) can actually start reviewing each application. As previously mentioned we got 1100+ entries to plow through. How about we close the form this thursday? 07/03.

I think we would've stood a better chance of a big number of valid entries if we had created accounts on different crypto forums at the same time and opened registration for all of them instead of just relying on btt. There's just not enough people here in the alt coin section. Still 1000+ is very decent. Hopefully there won't be that many sockpuppets

Everything above 1500 members is great for Kora. Node (NXTL) is waiting 3 months for +1200 users NEM has a about 3000 stakeholders, but there is right to have 2 stakes (one person, 2 btt account)
