I'm looking forward to seeing how many real people signed up!

Me too!

Registrations are now closed.

Total non-sockpuppets: 1270
Note: A "non-sockpuppet" is an entry which the system has not detected and flagged as a...you guessed it, sockpuppet. Simply put these 1270 entries have seemingly followed the rule about only 1 stake per household in the OP.

Of these 1270, 927 have verified their BTT ID up to this moment. This is the list of people we are to go through manually starting now. Before we get an ID verified we assume the entry was made using another person's BTT ID. We will decide how long the other 343 will have to send me a PM. I've sent everyone a reminder over email but might do it again later this week. For now, it's still all good to send me PM if you want to be verified.

So to summarize:
We currently got a list of 927 entries to go through. This is what the final list will be based on. More entries may be added before the final list is completed. This is because more people might verify their BTT ID. The reason we go through these entries manually is to spot anything suspicious, like two or more entries sharing  99% identical data. We do not yet know exactly how long this extra filtering process may take.

PM me for any issues or questions you might have.

Cheers!

Well done Mac Red! Thank you so much for all your great work Smiley

When I posted my original bounty thread for someone to design a webapp registration system for Kora I really didn't know what to expect, but you have done a marvellous job, and I'm very confident in the 'integrity' of the Kora stakeholder list we will end up with! I feel very privileged to have worked with you on this part of Kora and I'm very grateful to you for your excellent contribution. I could not have gotten this far without you!

I hope all those who registered on the registration webapp but have so far not confirmed via PM to Mac Red do so asap. It would be great to reach at least 1000 confirmed stakeholders!

Mac Red and I will work our way through the stakeholder list looking for any anomalies, and once we're satisfied we will publish our completed stakeholder list in some form (without email address or other sensitive information).

We will have a list of NXT addresses, so everyone will be free to analyse those if they wish. come-from-beyond offered us 10K NXT to perform a taint analysis on the NXT addresses, so if that offer still stands we can proceed with that after we publish the stakeholder list.

Once everything is finalised with the stakeholder list we will move quickly to distribution of the Kora stakes on the NXT AE. I have made contact with some experienced NXT users who might be able to devise an automated process to distribute the Kora tokens. That would be far quicker & prevent errors.

We still have some issues to resolve:
1- what to do with the left over stakes
2- the final Kora coin supply

Once those two details are resolved we will be able to go ahead and calculate the size of each stake, and then distribute the Kora tokens to the stakeholders.

I have no exact time estimate for that, but I'm hopeful we can be finished in a couple of weeks. The collective focus will hopefully move to other areas now, like logo designs, and the website and project documentation that nioccoin is currently working on.

I have seen a few people suggest we change the name to something else. The reason I chose 'Kora' is rather obvious, but I like the name (despite the obvious risk of confusion with Qora), BUT, I am very open to suggestions from community members who have any ideas for a 'killer' coin name. As always, everyone is more than welcome to speak their mind and express themselves here Smiley

Is there any chance you would reopen the registration? Maybe if there is not critical amount of participants yet? Just found out about this from a friend I'm not too active on this forum  Undecided

This is exactly why I am making the argument for a process where there will be a continuous inclusion of people into the currency: there will always be somebody who comes somewhat late, knocking on the door and says: "Let me participate".  So I suggest that we should embrace that event as the true 'forging' - the forming of new coins - when another person joins the currency. The involvement of people with the crypto currency projects should be spreading past the limitations of this current group and forum.

I think the current processes where we have a group of people that sort of 'lock in' into a community, makes for a nice development team spirit and a momentum, and attract the ones that think of this as a test bed for the value of the currency, but then when the project matures, we hope to transition into a wider acceptance of the currency project into the bigger community, and that is where every project so far has failed to really get traction.

I somehow would like to see the implementation of these currencies like a fire, a chemical reaction, spreading around the planet, in such a way that everybody just has to join, since it does not make sense not to. I don't know how to do it, but I just feel that the key is right here, on the cutting edge, where there is a new person who just found out from a friend, and who perceives value in participation.

Pentamon

One baby step at a time. First lets get the actual stake holders number. I am also with you on re-opening the registration for 2nd round but that comes with more headache, responsibility and scrutiny.  Chances of people wanting to try their luck is always there not to mention to counter check list 1 with list 2. So lets see how the list 1 comes out.

Cheers.

There are ~300 accounts which are not verified yet.

Maybe they are just fake applications:  using others BTT account to apply.

Yes, I think so. Almost trust people are verified.

Peeking in for a quick update!
43 more BTT confirmations since my update yesterday. So now we're up to 970 entries to check.  Cool

We must be careful not to confuse things. When you speak of a DAC (see Bootstrapping A Decentralized Autonomous Corporation) you may mean to refer to an Autonomous Agent. Agents have been developed in the AI field for many years.

Two courses to pursuing 'One stake per Human' which could be actively developed at this time are bootstrapping trust based IOU systems, or bootstrapping the social graph. These are by no means inclusive of everybody on earth, but they would be a reasonable start to distribution.

In both of these scenarios people have unique identifiers, either as UUIDs or URLs, they can be hashed to a common format for such a distribution system.

Plug in a crawling agent, and an agent which is armed with crypto currency, and you perhaps have the makings of a viable system.

Thank you for your post! I appreciate the info you provided. It is a very interesting topic (the goal of one stake per human) and I think if we are all honest we realise the coins we are making today, whether POW or POS, when compared to the long term potential of decentralised blockchain technology, is like comparing the planes the Wright brothers flew to a modern 747.

I am confident we will eventually achieve the twin goals of fairness & effectiveness within the crypto community, and our current efforts should be seen as stepping stones on the path to better and better decentralised financial tools that actually benefit ordinary people. The potential for a truly fair & global mass crypto currency distribution is close IMO.

I wish you well with Bitmark, it looks like a very sensible endeavour, and it should be quite successful Smiley

Do you have any name suggestions? I personally don't like names that end in 'coin', but that's just my opinion. I think a good name, good logo and appropriate slogan/motto are vital.

Brainstorming time maybe Smiley

@ kora,

Do not issue kora stake in nxt ae without confirming or deciding number of coins. It will create too many unnecessary questions. Confirm the coins, number of stake then list in the ae.

Indeed it's a bit of slow the process i guess people need to get their attention here but since at now are only stats people may be reticent . Also you guys made a difficult verification system that would help clean the stakeholders list clean but also it would be so logical that will be less entries then a regular simple one ..in that case it would have been past 3k long time ago but it won't have been fair at all .

Kora is in German a typical name for dogs. Because of this I think of some alternatives Wink
