You're right that a level price is not what we wanted or expected for XC.
On the other hand almost every other project's price has decreased, so relatively speaking we've done very well.
To my mind this speaks of the confidence that XC investors have.
Not exactly. Price is still off about 80% since the initial pump. I'm not sure what that remark implies. Not implying anything. The price of most coins have gone down as much. The XC price hasn't done any better than other comparable coins over the last 4 months or so. DRK is down about the same from it's highs and might have performed a little better than XC. Fair enough. I suppose we're parsing the data differently. The initial pump is a different phenomenon to the seasonal price action for coins. After the initial pump XC has stayed mostly flat. In comparison, most coins this season have gone down. i wouldn't see it like this. PPC rised, ANC rised because of the expected zerocoin implementation, blackcoin rised after it's drop again. it's true that DRK and Monero our direct competitors lost value but DRK started at the same price level we are right now but it's still at higher price level after the massive drop It's true that some scam coins dumped but we had no lasting movement in price and this is what disturbs me most. DRK has had an awful Summer. Its price has gone from 0.0277 to 0.006 (and tanked down to 0.002 on the way). In comparison, XC has gained gradually. Monero's price has yo-yoed up and down, but generally down. Lots of tiny coins got pumped. So it's true that most coins have gone down this season, except some random pumps. XC has stayed flat, and its lows keep getting gradually higher. I disagree, the low touched in July (120k) was touched yesterday again and the price dropped even below 120k on some exchanges Your statement on DRK is also wrong because compared to it's price in April (120k) the price is now at 650k - which is a price increase of 440% I would be very happy if XC would dump to 650k after it touched 2770k

General Question ..
What's the solution to funding the ongoing development of XC ?? I've been involved with too many coins where the 'music' stops when the initial funding runs out .. Community fails to donate .. Devs run out of time and money .. coin dies .. rinse and repeat .. What's the plan to avoid the same fate here ??
Triff .. modest XC holder
This is a great question, I would be curious to hear an answer from the team. +200% Do you guys do not see that XC is Dan's Baby?? do you think Dan does not have enough money to work on XC? ?? Have you looked at his Linkdin profile? Do you compare XC project with the other Crypto Flash shitty coins around?? Do you realize that here we have the first Implementation of Mesh networks in Crypto?? do you think this can be achieved by amateurs programmers try to gamble their luck with Cryptos?

I'm not 'fudding' .. This is a serious issue for all coins with a shot at challenging BTC .. FIBRE and XMR ( just two examples ) are dealing with this issue right now .. As far as I can tell there is no mechanism in place to ensure ongoing development funding for any coin .. XMR had an angel investor with deep pockets FIBRE has expended their development funds A "secondary offering" would be the way to go but that requires a hard fork and a change to the float of a given coin and no one wants to do that .. Donation requests go unanswered So what's the plan ?? We can't and shouldn't expect Dan to carry the financial burden .. Triff ..

I don't think it is clear that all of the italicized above is Fibre's issue...not XC's. Just because they are having issues doesn't mean that XC is. We shouldn't start creating problems just because another coin has them.

You are comparing XC to other projects that are not like XC and do not have the professionality behind XC. XC dev team never asked for donations and there is a reason why. because it is a non issue. As everyone in the Dev team as second means to get Income. However if there will be the need to finance XC with donations Im sure you will be surprise by the community response. If there is the need and dan will ask for it I will give 1000XC straight away and I bet I would not be the only one.

ITO ?? Initial Token Offering ?? So so far we have .. 1) Dan's ongoing ability/willingness to donate his time and funds to the XC project 2) Direct community support if required/requested at some future date Triff .. ps .. This is what happens ( brain cloud ) to us old guys I see ( below ) that I was quoted in the article regarding the potential XC incorporation plan .. Please resume your regularly scheduled programming ..
