Dual Xeon X5650s @ 2.66GHz (-t 12): 135H/s

i7 6700k @ 4.4GHz (-t 4): 172H/s

The Xeon has 12MB of L3 cache so I suggest you try -t 6 because each thread optimally uses 2MB of L3 cache.

If you don't know where you're going any road will get you there

Good day guys, i need info how i can connect my mac machine to the Monero mining pool, which software i need. Maybe anyone have ready OSX miner build.
Thanks

I see you didn't get any replies.  So though I am a total newb at this, I'll share my experience thus far with Macs and maybe you can share back what you've learned since you posted 2 months ago.

I fist tried minergate.com's mac client and got the following results CPU mining XMR:

Harpertown 2.8Ghz 8 Core Mac Pro (4GB RAM) - 175H/s
Nehelem 2.8Ghz 4 Core Mac Pro (8GB RAM) - 85H/s
Core i7 2.6Ghz MacBook Pro (16GB RAM) - 75H/s 90H/s

In other words, totally not worth it.

I'm just now installing Ubuntu on the Harpertown Mac Pro and will try both Minergate and Wolf's if the Minergate hashrate under Linusx is lower than what reports for Wolf's have been here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MI-ic0Os25hgGUImW54sUIjZY_pUNQNa_W8Se5pRGBs/edit?pli=1#gid=0

Edit: Unbuntu Minergate on Harpertown Mac Pro - 190H/s

I'm on   Dell E5300 2.3Ghz and get about 8H/s at minergate.      Embarrassed
My Laptop gives about the same using Minergate.    Cry

two mobile devices, using 2 cores  give about 5H/s (5 hashes per second)   Undecided

How can I improve on this.

Compiled this for macOS and included it in MacMiner and I get 190H/s on a 12 core mid-2012 Mac Pro

I started a few days ago mining XMR, here's some information i got to share

2x Xeon E5-2620 v2 ( 12 threads ea)   ~350 h/s
Quadro K2200   ~190 h/s

2x Xeon E5-2620 v2 ( 12 threads ea)   ~350 h/s
Quadro K2000   fail

2x Xeon E5-2620 v2 ( 12 threads ea)   ~350 h/s
Quadro K2000   fail

2x Xeon E5-2620 v3 ( 12 threads ea)   ~402 h/s
Quadro K2200   ~190 h/s

on my i7 3820 i get ~180 h/s
on my Geforce GTX 760 i get between 180-240 h/s ; very variable.

i use cpuminer-sandybridge-ivybridge.exe from cpuminer-multi-wolf-05-30-2014 ; -t 20 for the Xeon systems and -t 5 on my i7 3820
and for the gpu i use Cryptominer

I was wondering if anyone had any tips to tweak/improve my numbers and also, if anyone has any idea why it fails on a Quadro K2000 but not on a K2200

have fun Smiley

I cannot get the miner to work. It pulls the error: Error -1 when calling clGetDeviceIDs for number of devices.

I have an AMD r9 290 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I can't find any solution searching about. The closest relevant thing I saw suggested I cannot use the HDMI port on my GPU to connect to my monitor?

My full specs are:

Hi,

I wonder if anyone tried to use any virtualization soft for mining? For example, openVZ etc. It is interesting if several VE running miner are more profitable than one on a whole server?

Hello,

I have a problem building this miner. I am trying to build it in Linux 16.04 64bit with mingw32. I am configuring like that :

 sudo ./configure --host=i586-mingw32msvc

Then I have this error after sudo make :

cc1: error: invalid option argument ‘-Ofast’
cc1: error: unrecognized command line option "-flto"
cc1: error: unrecognized command line option "-fuse-linker-plugin"
Makefile:526: recipe for target 'minerd-cpu-miner.o' failed
make[2]: *** [minerd-cpu-miner.o] Error 1

I tried to remove this lines in the Makefile, but then I got other error. Does somebody have some idea how to fix that?

Thanks in advance !

Probably some old ass toolchain - I build my own cross-toolchains for this very reason, most of the ones you can find are hopelessly out of date.

Trying out mining Monero for the first time. When I first ran the cpu miner I got "Stratum detected new block" over and over, cpu running at 100%. Am I even mining?

Trying the second time I now get:
[2016-09-03 15:48:41] Using JSON-RPC 2.0
[2016-09-03 15:48:41] HTTP request failed: Protocol stratum+tcp not supported or disabled in libcurl
[2016-09-03 15:48:41] 11 miner threads started, using 'cryptonight' algorithm.
[2016-09-03 15:48:41] ...retry after 10 seconds
[2016-09-03 15:48:51] HTTP request failed: Protocol stratum+tcp not supported or disabled in libcurl
[2016-09-03 15:48:51] ...retry after 10 seconds

Any help? I cannot find much troubleshooting info online

EDIT:

Trying out the GPU miner, all I did was change the pool address and wallet address in xmr.conf and I get:

[16:08:38] Got something: {"id":1,"jsonrpc":"2.0","error":{"code":-1,"message":"your IP is banned"}}

[16:08:38] Share rejected ((null)): -1/0 (inf%)
[16:08:38] Total Hashrate: nanH/s

wtf?

All anti virus detects CPU miners as viruses/trojans because of botnets.  Ofc that doesn't mean some aren't but this one is just fine and I have used it with no problems.  Wolf has a very good rep.  You should add it to your anti viruses trusted list so it doesn't mess with it later.

If you don't know where you're going any road will get you there

I mined on all well-known virtualizers: KVM, XEN, OpenVZ, Proxmox, SolusVM and some custom stacks like Jelastic. No problems.
Before booking VPS, check if you have AES-NI on VPS. With-out AES-NI it's slower. A lot slower, around 1/3rd the speed. And the non AES-NI implementation is deprecated and will not be improved.

Never benchmarked.
