Well that was an interesting statement and now I can see why so many people have left the coin.  Someone really needs to get a dose of reality and join the real world.  It doesn't matter one bit whether you have the best product if no one wants to use it.  History has shown time and time again that inferior products will often out perform superior ones simply by better marketing and sales.  In crypto, if you don't have a community behind you, the coin ain't going anywhere and yet these guys seem to have a habit of alienating the community.  A real shame as all that's going to be left is those that keep the price low while they rape short term profits and then a bunch of people left holding coins for ever.

In response to the constant talk of bad PR and bad management etc etc.

You can go round and round talking about things all day long, this isn't right or that isn't right but it doesn't change a single thing because actions speak louder than words.

I'll be more active once Cecil is here but until then... it's just wasted energy.

You could have just posted a picture of a giant middle finger instead of that text. Same message, even less "wasted energy".
listen to the community alty. Wasted energy is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Your actions have spoken volumes. Clean up your act.

Hey Darkproton, you still invested in cloak??

My approach exactly. I have a boat load of Cloak. Keep holding. You won't be disappointed! Word on the street is that good news is coming very soon. Sorry, I can't release my sources.

Also, don't forget about XCurrency (XC) - Rev 2 final coming in 4 days. You can expect a push pass 002 this weekend.  Easy 50% increase coming.

yep, im in both. also while we are on topic of alts look into fibre coin which has had awesome steady growth over the last 12 days and looks poised for a big run (low coin supply) also for a quick buck litecoindark could have a quick run to 2k-2.5k

Too many people here looking to make a quick buck and attitude that goes with it. If you had faith in this coin and the hard work the Dev's are putting into it you wouldn't care what the price is now. Don't invest if you cannot emotionally handle the ups and downs, life ain't a straight road. Leave the Dev's alone and let them concentrate on what they do best. All I hear from most of the community is constant whining yet you have the audacity to moan about PR. Clean you own act up before you criticise others cos you are your own worst enemy.

No. I just think the community deserves better than this double fingered fuck you he delivered. I am not doubting his intentions or what cloak may become, I just think you guys deserve better than this kind of statement. Am I wrong? To my knowledge, development got pushed back, which is fine, it happens. The way it gets delivered is a whole other matter.

Well put
Um....I'm not invested. And you should not take the attitude of leave the devs alone. Pester them until you are satisfied/they have delivered answers( I am not advocating needless incessant questioning, but the basic communique should be requested/demanded). And alty is not a coder. He is not a 'dev'. He is a pr guy. He coordinates the project. He should be more vocal. Just my two cents. No need to pretend everything is ok when it really is not. My act is clean. I don't fud. Never had nor will. I think before I post. Can alty change? Sure. Will he? Who knows. There's a reason according to you that " All I hear from most of the community is constant whining yet you have the audacity to moan about PR". Yes. Because it's shitty. Very, very shitty. I wish you guys well and hope that cloak does become successful.

Your are correct. Alty is a project leader who doubles as a PR guy. Perhaps he thinks that somebody else doing the PR would threaten his authority.

I do not think that is feasible at all. I appreciate the work you - Alty - are doing, but the reality is we need a PR Manager, you should stay as the project leader but we desperately need someone with communication skills. The community is pleading for it - can't you see that?

As some were interested in my current work on my trading suite: I'm doing some good progress (although it's still in its very, very early stage); started some frontend work recently to check out how the backend performs. I found AmCharts to be the best JavaScript charting/plotting lib; free for personal use plus a commercial license available.
Although the cloak graphs look quite depressing, heh.

.edit:
Resized preview picture.

.edit2:

Some details:
  • TYPO3.Flow application (as TYPO3 is quite uncommon in the US (people tend to use Drupal more, I guess): it's a content management system, and TYPO3.Flow is a framework. TYPO3.Flow is to PHP what Rails is to Ruby, to put it simple)
  • OOP/MVC coded backend which provides business logic, database connection, API calls etc
  • separate frontend which communicates with the backend

Planned features:
  • automated trading
  • technical analysis with different (maybe subscribable, not sure yet) trading strategies and alerts if events occured which are a clear signal to whatever trading strategy
  • way more graphs and charts: trading time, volume and price (and maybe some other factors) should be set into relation to kind of get an automated overview, such as e.g. "those famous 177 orders appeared again, get ready for the waves", although I'm not sure if that's a realistic target... short: it should show information about the market which we don't see in the charts on the exchanges
  • notifications (maybe via email) on big price movements

Currently, I'm trying to wrap my head around a possible solution for the API key problem. If others ever get to use this application, I definitely don't want to handle their API keys on  my server. Although I'm quite used to handling GNU/Linux servers (due to my work), there is always someone who has better skills. And explaining to people why their accounts are emptied is the last thing I want to do. Ever.
