But at that diff... you little miner will be lucky to find shares... that's why you see things the way they are. I am mining on pools that allow me to set my own diff.

Your Mileage May Very...

Yes I agree,

To be honest my main mining rigs are x11, x13, x15 and sha-256 this is just a test really before buying more hardware.

Hi there - just a quick note that I've released a post on mining with ZeusMiner ASICs using BFGMiner on Mac OS X here.

MultiMiner: Any Miner, Any Where, on Any Device |  Xgminer: Mine with popular miners on Mac OS X

I'm going to guess, that the blocks that you see getting rejected are probably duplicates. You don't find shares when you solo mine, only blocks.

Hi Guys,

I have a Blizzard which died (Zeus have already sent me a replacement), essentially it doesn't get detected by any COM Port on any machine. There is no smell and no visible burn sign of any kind. I have tried connecting to a PI as well but it also won't detect.

Any other options you guys can think of?

Adz

Just a quick question. Did you forget to do something simple? Maybe you didn't install the virtual port software required? Don't forget to check the simple stuff first. It's happened to everyone whether they admit it or not. The simple bugs are the most frustrating.
Chris B.

Edited to add some things that have plagued me:

1. A bad USB cable
2. A burned out USB port on the comp. (Lost power at the supply and the miner tried to pull enough power from the USB to run. ouch)
3. Virtual port software crash. (Yep the software was installed and suddenly quit working, reinstalled and it worked great, for how long who knows?)
4. Antivirus software attacked my miner software. (Hit it on the nose with a rolled up newspaper and added my mining software folders to the "exceptions list")
5. Firewall suddenly decided my miners were not allowed to connect to the internet. (Same solution as the antivirus attack)

Anyone try changing the crystal yet?
What crystal values would correspond to which baud rates?

I finally got my Fury delivery today, I'll have a look tomorrow with the USB erupter crystal.
It will probably mess the communication, but we'll only know for sure after trying.

I'm busy at the moment, I still have to try to compile cgminer for rockminer to remove the frequency limit.
And next project will probably be the antminer s3 over clock for 10-20% extra hashing power.

I am trying to run 4 x Zeus blizzards on the one Raspberry Pi, and it doesn't seem to be coping. I am using bfgminer 4.4.0 and even at a lower clock of 308 I am getting like 20% HW errors and all sort of problems, like sometimes not all of the blizzard will start and I have to quit bfgminer and launch it again, I often get ZUS 0: Comms error (werr=1) and other bad looking messages. The CPU load is about 1.5.

Anyone know the practical maximum of Blizzards you can run of a single Pi?

May I ask you are using 308 and not stock 328? or even 240MHz

As for the HW errors.

Documentation as well as user experimentation has shown that Zeus hardware prefers higher difficulties as compared to Gridseed.  Using difficulty values of 1024 or 2048 are not unheard of for use on a single Fury/Blizzard and offer good results.
Link to thread that has a growing list of pools which support the manual setting of difficulty:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=645532.0 (Thanks jekv2!)

How do you improve WU readings?
I got a Fury clock at 340Mhz @ 1,520Mhash/s but WU under 1000, around the 920 range even I clock fury at 350Mhz.

I ran into this same issue last night and was on the starminer image.  Running 2 or 3 at once was ok, add in the 4th and each one would generate hundreds of hw errors within minutes.  I flashed the no-frills Zeus rpi image and it works ok.  That image actually launches a separate cgminer instance per device.  It's a pain in the ass to configure since you can't replicate the settings to all devices and it boots up and mines for Zeus by default (a TOTAL scam....no reputable company would do that - they would leave the configurations blank and prompt the user with a notification they need to complete the setup before mining will start).  But it works.  I also cloned/compiled dmaxl's cgminer to the Zeus image and ran it...and it also works fine running all 4 miners in one instance.  I'll try starminer again with a freshly flashed image today maybe.

and speaking of cgminer....anyone know what the 'proper' way to specify per-device settings in a config file is?  I can't seem to get it to work.

i have the same problem. ive tried new thermal paste. i even put a big fan on top of the case they are in. 350mhz give me 5400 WU with 5 blizzards/furys using CGminer 4.3.5 beta 4. i tried 340mhz got 5700 WU. at stock i get 6200 WU. Guess they jsut dont like anything over 328mhz. i dont see the benfit of going over 328 of the WU doesnt scale with it.

Thanks,  that's working much better I am getting around 1.4Mh/s with each of the 4 miners, and the hardware error rate has dropped right off, <1% so I can run the 328 clock again. Here I was thinking that the Pi wasn't powerful enough for USB 4 miners at once, but it obvious now that it is.

Not sure what the problem was with bfgminer, I tried 4.3.0 and 4.4.0 and both were terrible with multiple miners on the Raspberry Pi, fine on just a single miner. I will stick with this cgminer 4.3.5 fork for the time being, best performance I have had so far.

The link is for the source code, and it says In the readme that some of the functions only work on Linux. eg auto device detection. Seeing the fury and the blizzard are usually shipped with Raspberry Pi (zencrontrollers) it kind of makes sense. There is nothing stopping you compiling it for Windows, it's just you may not get all the options.

This says cgminer 4.3.5 direct download link....looks like the Windows binary from what I downloaded (contains cgminer.exe and some .dll's)
