It was indeed a really big pump and dump action. I didn't think that this would be possible for a (actually) well-distributed coin like NEM :/
NEM is undervalued. A higher volume after a publication like this ( Let's Talk Bitcoin) is no surprise but just a normal market reaction. "Views: 1963" Yes 2000+ views hours after release is pretty impressive!

I get somewhere around 5k views in the first 24 hours (Most are secondary views from search engines and bots and such...) You're kidding.

Don't forget that you have to take into account volume! Can you really draw a conclusion about how most people value their XEM when the total volume for the last 24 hours is just over 1% ?? I think most of today's volume is bots, investors and some impatient people that take the opportunity to sell which may in fact be based on very limited knowledge of NEM for everyone who's selling.

Makoto mentioned in the interview that the ultimate plain for NEM development is to have multiple simple titles/tiles that when connected together can build great things such as a decentralized internet. He namely mentioned titles/tiles such as bandwidth, storage and decentralized CPUs. I am wondering if there is any current plan/design for such amazing features. Perhaps all will fall into smart contracts in one way or another. I would appreciate it if Makoto can clarify the future design of these functionalities. Will side block chains be considered to form side decentralized resources? I think that would be the best way for building trust in and out of NEM main network/blockchain. We are discussing this subject on the NEM forum here: https://forum.nem.io/t/how-smart-contracts-will-operate-in-nem/1520

Do the the math for Ethereum. There are around 62M ether = 248,000 BTC based on todays exchange rate. The average daily Ether volume is around 2000 Ether. which is almost 1%

Very good interview, word will spread when people see for themselves what XEM is capable of. Will be great to see more of these interviews, this is our marketing...

It would be nice to see how the richlist has changed when the pump and dump is over. Is it spreading XEM or is someone accumulating them?

i've many issues with NEM probably one of the biggest is its distribution, that was seriously gamed and easy to game, almost lucky to hold even its current price with that.

Yes XEM volume was too low namely in the past two months. Today it started to get back to normal. Hopefully will sustain.

According to marketcap.com
XEM daily volume (24h): 40 BTC = $9227 XEM marketcap: $905967 = 3942 BTC
ETH daily volume (24h): 2911 BTC = $669032 ETH marketcap: $ 65054326 = 283079 BTC
XEM volume/marketcap = 9227/905967 = 1,02% ETH volume/marketcap = 669032/65054326 = 1,03%
Not very different in the last day.

There was sock purging that went on for months. Every individual investor was checked out to make sure he/ she had the correct amount of stakes. You guys that dont know the score should do more research. No currency ,Crypto or Fiat ,has ever been so well distributed.!!!!!!!!

It would be nice to see how the richlist has changed when the pump and dump is over. Is it spreading XEM or is someone accumulating them? just pump and dump NXT clone nem is poi. nem poi is better than nxt pos. because only nem have a protection against centralization. in future i see nxt network centralized and being under control of people at which will be more than all nxt coins. in nem network having more than all xem coins isn't present any risk centralization. because anyone can carry out harvesting. and for this purpose it isn't necessary to have more than all coins as in nxt network. +1 in favor of nem

Is it spreading XEM or is someone accumulating them? just pump and dump NXT clone No. Not really the distribution was good, far better than almost all other coins. Also my understanding of the code base and parameters are far different to NXT.
