So the AE assets have a "deadline" of the 29th, but can be redeemed afterwards at no penalty? Why set a deadline?
the deadline is set so theres a clear line as to who will be in the genesis or not. there needs to be a certain amount of time between finalizing the list of addresses and launching the blockchain. OK, so it will still be possible to redeem and trade NEMstakes on the AE for the two months after the deadline? |

I can't start the NEM.jar with my Linux system. Also the webstart doesn't work for me. It says 'install the latest have version', although the latest java version is installed. Also my LG G3 isn't supported by Java at the webstart.
Are these errors known and worked on? Because as long as they stay like this I can't complete redemption phase 2.

Got the same error with webstart. To start NEM on my linux system I downloaded standalone version. There is two .sh files one for NCC and the other one for NIS. Click on NCC first, launch in terminal then same for NIS. |

It's been a while. Is Nem launching soon?
Early December, we hope !!! We hope yes. If not then not. I'm not too worried about WHEN we launch. For me it's important HOW we launch. Launching a stable network that is absoutely bullet-proof and well tested is much more important to me than launching next month or even this year. Only few coins that have released recently have been written from scratch and they are facing serious issues. I don't know how Crypti is doing but NODE had some outages recently...again. This can't and won't happen to us because we won't release until we're absolutely ready for it. I don't mean to say we're taking things slow - hell no. We're going as fast as possible but as slow as neccessary. People will be able to be confident in our software and network from day 1 and that is worth a lot more than launching before some imaginary deadline. Other things - beside devlopment - also take time but as xtester said those things will be announce soon  With this in mind, i sincerely hope there will be guides for people who wish to set up nodes. As i said in a previous message; i'd like to support the network by purchasing a few banana Pi's to help support NEM. But i would need some guidance to get it up and running as i'm somewhat unfamiliar with the OS's they use. Same here, a guide would help. |

Well at least they have code in the repo to show for it, unlike exo which only provides binaries.

I hope the people on the AE are clear about this and are aware of the launch. Of course this whole thing should never have happened. A clear cut off date should have been stuck to....too much indecision. |

It doesn't matter if they can keep trading the asset on the AE. It's basically just like trading real NEM but in big chunks. Noone is getting hurt an noone has a disadvantage by letting them redeem until January 29th. What's the big deal?

Aggreed. I also don't get what's wrong with that. Nothing wrong with that as long as the guys on AE get out on time and are aware of the launch. I suppose I am not as patient as you guys. I would like to see the Nemesis block complete so that we can then go on to talk about what can be done with unclaimed stakes etc....and yes , we cant go on till the devs are ready......I know...... |
