Has anyone received their refund on the B1-3's yet? It's been months and nothing. The website just says status "OK"...what is that supposed to mean?

Have you checked your wallet? Refunds were issued in July.

Hmm, no I never received mine :/

Checked the address on the site, it's the right one, but no transaction on the address matching the refunds.

EDIT: NM I see them, all good.

I have bricked a S3 with an improperly downloaded frimware upgrade,  does anyone know if there is a way to reflash the firmware or to do a hard reset (holding reset button did not work) without being able to access the GUI?

Maybe some info from this thread could help you out:

Anyone know if that most recent firmware that says it is compatible with the S3+ also works on the earlier batches?  I haven't kept up with this thread the whole time but I have a batch 2 that has never done very well and I wondered if that might help it out.

Just update my S3s from Batch 2 & 6 with the antMiner_S320140826.bin and cgminer 4.6.0 and all is well.

Result is lowered HWE and overall hashrate seems to be improved a bit too. Win!

Just updated my 2 from batch 6.  Wow.  Huge improvement.  I went from 470 G and 450 G @ 250, to about 520G on both.  Nice firmware upgrade

B8 is sold out.  B9 is up but no price yet with shipping to start on 9/20 or earlier (since B8 started shipping already).

It doesn't say anything about the shipping date yet, I was going to order some B8 as the wait was less than 10 days but as you say sold out. I fully expect B9 will be ~10th October going by previous batches. Shame as I bought over 40x S1's but since then all bitmain's stuff has been overpriced or long pre-orders Sad

Just get the S3+ upgrade kit then, you'll have a very short lead time (shipping before / by 20th)

its not sold out...  Cheesy
i dont think it'll sold out, coz people will see the sign "NEVER ROI" in these S3
and for B9, "shipping start on 9/20" Huh? i dont think so bro
they'll delay it till next month or so, like the L1 Cheesy
even if they're going to ship it in the end of this month, the price will be the same BTC0.58

Still, for a guy who's owned 41 S1's, I am sure you can rope in a few friends to amass the few heatsinks that you'd need to get the S3+ kit up and running for less than the price of an S3+. I reckon one can fashion a set of heatsinks for less than 0.04BTC, and if you do away with the stock temp control system and simply blast / pull fresh air through all would be well! But hey, just a thought!

They just took it away.  They probably just copied and pasted the B8 info including the 9/20 or earlier shipping info and realized it from my post above and deleted it.

Read again...right below the price it says "Sold Out"...and below it, the "Add to cart" button and quantity field are all greyed out.

So yeah everything has been working fine up until this point.
Yesterday i powered everything off to add a larger PSU to 2 other units instead of using 2 separate PSUs everything worked fine.

Except with one of the Miners i hadnt touched, all the sudden that PSU powered down and shutdown the miner, switched PSU still doing the same thing.
However if i pull out the Network cable it doesnt power down.

I tried resetting it to factory settings and everything started working again until i saved which freq it was gonna run on then it powered down again (so when it starts mining is when its powering down id assume).
Running out of options here now, current plan is to take it apart and clean it if that doesnt help hook it up to a old motherboard and try running it outside the network of miners.

Any others ideas?

lets assume, the 1st miner as A, the 2nd B, the 3rd C
the problematic one is C

now, switch C with B
and try to power up B with a single PSU (A and C using the larger PSU)

I don't have the build environment to create a full binary image, and the code will need a LOT of work to actually become part of mainline cgminer it seems, but for the time being here is a link to a bugfixed binary of cgminer 4.6.0 for the S3 based on the bitmain code. Copy the file into /usr/bin/ on the S3 overwriting the existing one:
http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/antminer/s3/4.6.0-140908/cgminer

@ ckolivas: You my good man, are a LEGEND! I'll be sending a small donation shortly - excellent work & many, many thanks  Smiley

It's amazing to think that it took you less than 5 hours to produce something that Bitmain failed to do after promising to do so over 3 weeks ago...... Huh Anyone who uses this, please consider giving ckolivas a small donation for helping secure your S3's from security risks, improving their performance & ensuring your hash power goes where it's supposed to go.

@ Bitmain: Please upload updated firmware releases for both S2 & S3 units that incorporate the latest cgminer as you said you would. Not everyone of your users has the technical know-how to install ckolivas's latest work, a firmware update image is much more user friendly and will enable everyone to benefit from the latest cgminer security fixes & performance improvements.

Thanks, in anticipation...... Wink
