Launched 52 S3+ Units today! Out of the 52 only 1 gave us low hashrate issues. May just be a glitch, planning to reset and configure again tomorrow to see if it corrects itself. Just to tired to play with tonight.
A few are actually hashing near/above 700 GHash.
Job well done BitMainTech! I think youve cornered the market!

Has anyone tried manually setting the frequency higher than 250? If the Ants were kept in a cold server room at 58 Degrees, would that perhaps allow higher hashrates?

Ok, so since I formatted my hdd in my laptop like two weeks ago. I lost some of my favorite links.
Can someone post me a ink on the new firmware I have with the stuff to edit so I can get 243.75 added back in. I think it was removed when this (the S3) got reset.
Ty.
Bitmain's site has the firmware: https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=007201407180243004432lBQW28O0633I use Cygwin to ssh into them then use vi editor. U can also download putty to ssh in. Sorry for totally stupid question i just have not done it. To upgrade do i just use the "Flash new firmware image"? Is that used for upgrade in image? Thanks for any help.

What do you have them clocked at to achieve near 700?

What do you have them clocked at to achieve near 700? They are all at 243.75 but it appears to be actually hashing at 700, showing that rate both miner and poolside. Weird but very nice. Strato

Hi guys,
I've a used early S3 that starts high and settles at ~440GH/s for quite awhile, but eventually dips down to ~430GH/s and even slides into the 420s. Clock is default 218.75MHz, ASIC display is all "o", HW% is .0013, and Accept/Reject ratio is 639:1. Looking for ideas as to what could be causing the decline.
Setup is Corsair CX750M supplying all four PCI-E ports via individual minimum length cables, August 7 Bitmain FW flash, 4.6.0 CGminer update, Slush's and Eligius pools with "Failover" management. It's one of four S3s on a single switch divided between two power circuits (two each) and the other three stay ~441GH/s.
Thoughts? Appears I've been lost in the shuffle (anything new?) If someone perhaps has some insight into this, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

you are being blocked to ck.kolivas.org or ck.kolivas.org is not resolving do nslookup ck.kolivas.org Name: reaver.kolivas.org Address: 193.19.136.183 Aliases: ck.kolivas.org and do ping 193.19.136.183 That worked with terminal before I logged into one of the ants but once in the ant I tried again this time it came back with the 127.0.0.0, local bitcoind, not sure why it resolved to this. I can download the file so I guess I will just need to go about this a different way. Thank you for the quick reply.

Hey all, I was updating my batch 1 S3 units to the latest firmware and one of them is having troubles booting now. I cannot access it via the webui or via ssh. I attempted a hard reset using the button on the front so I know the address of the miner should be 192.168.1.99. Red light is blinking. I'm familiar with how to talk to the miners as I've had around 10 S1, a couple S2, and 10 S3. This is the only one giving me issues.
I swapped control boards with another S3 and it's working fine, so the hashing boards are okay. I sent an email requesting an RMA for the control board.
Does anybody have anything else I can try?
Thanks, Dave
Use tcpdump to monitor the traffic on the subnet. Once I thought I had changed to DHCP and moved the device to another subnet but couldn't find it with nmap. I ran tcpdump on another machine on that subnet and most of the traffic had the correct subnet but some packets had the .1.99 address so I knew the problem was that it didn't take the protocol change to DHCP. Why would the address be anything other than 192.168.1.99 though? I did a hard reset. The hard reset didn't actually work. I'm able to access the webui now, but neither asic chain shows on the miner status page. I've tried reverting back to the original firmware and clearing all of my settings. I get usb errors in the log: [ 27.910000] usb 1-1.1: device not accepting address 4, error -145 [ 28.010000] usb 1-1.1: new full-speed USB device number 5 using ehci-platform [ 38.430000] usb 1-1.1: device not accepting address 5, error -145 [ 38.530000] usb 1-1.1: new full-speed USB device number 6 using ehci-platform [ 48.950000] usb 1-1.1: device not accepting address 6, error -145 [ 48.950000] hub 1-1:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 1 I switched USB cables and have the same issue. With another control board the miner functions normally. Tech support is telling me I may have a DNS problem. I have 8 other ants with the same DNS. What am I missing here?

I don't have power to have anything close to this, but an interesting factoid: at current prices 52 S-3 would cost ~12.5K (granted, you probably paid more because of BTC decline in the last few days) $12.5K for ~26Th is pretty sweet, I would say. A single Neptune (3Th) cost 13K to preorder and some people got them only in August.
