cool thanks!

This happens with new coins all the time. They vary on how long it takes to get the chain moving but they are always slow at first.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Especially PoS coins.

presstab, that raises a question: Might I safely assume that transactions will be slow as hell until there are more stakes spread out over the network? Or will the chain generate empty blocks? I'm still figuring this PoS shit out Cheesy

hmmm I've got an issue. Somehow my client has lost 11K coins. It says I have 73k but when I dumped my tx's and took out the orphans etc my total came out to 84k (which is what I had but the client shows different now)

Any thoughts?

This post sums up why all this bullshit is a scam

A thought, yes. I'm on the wrong machine to double check it, but it may be that they are in stake and not showing because of it. Do you have coin control active?

CC is enabled and there are no coins listed next to stake in the main window of the GUI. I should also add this is on linux and was built about 4 hours ish ago (so pretty current source)

I don't think this is the issue though cause I made the switch after noticing the missing coins from my wallet in my xp vm (which didn't seem to want to stay in synch so switched hosts for the wallet)

Best thing to do is to check the block explorer. Look at your address.  What the block explorer says is what is official.  What your wallet says can get screwed up.

If your wallet does not say the same as the explorer, then do the following:

First and most importantly go to your appdata directory and make a backup of your wallet.dat - don't skip this step.  Name the backup wallet-backup7-10-14.dat or something.

Second startup the wallet in terminal with the salvage wallet switch. So if the exe is in my documents I would type this into terminal:
Code:
documents/HyperStake-qt.exe -rescan

This should rescan your wallets and hopefully your coins will show back up.

If not try again and use -salvagewallet (but note that when using salvagewallet you will be assigned a new address as the primary address of your wallet).

And I do plan on adding these features maybe into the GUI of a future version of the wallet.  Tranz has done amazing work in this area that I could mimic for hyp.

EDIT - Actually it does have one function built in already repairwallet, you can type that into the debug window and it should rescan against the chain.

You are correct my friend. Right now transactions are at the mercy of blocks coming to maturity. When the block matures, it will add a new block to the chain when it stakes and that block will confirm a group of transaction that occurred in between the blocks.

RIGHT NOW I WOULD HOLD OFF ON TRANSACTIONS BECAUSE THEY HAVE A HIGHER CHANCE OF NOT BEING ACCEPTED INTO A BLOCK THE LONGER IT TAKES TO GENERATE A BLOCK.

Ok the block explorer shows the right balance so it must be on my end. I will try these next. I've never had to use salvagewallet before... is that flag used by itself after a failed rescan and do I just use it by itself or with rescan too?

a big THANK YOU to presstab and Biomech for helping!

I edited my post above, because I have had some tx problems as well with the slow chain. Try repairwallet in the debug console.

holy shit that was easy! repairwallet fixed me right up... which is good cause this should help out the chain since a large chunk of my coins are mature

Yep I was assuming this wasn't in the wallet, but it ends up that it is so less coding for me!

hehe yes, very true.

I think I am just bitter that I don't have any btc at the moment to buy up cheap coins...

on the bright side of things, you guys need to push out an updated exe for the windows folks... its sooOoOOOooo nice having a more accurate stake time in the gui.

Saw that. I do wonder how many coins the TRK dev holds. And if he/she might be hostile. Oh well the sooner the coins change hands from weak to strong the better!

presstab, I have a thought. I don't know if it's desirable, or even feasible, but it's been swimming in my head all day, so y'all are stuck with it Cheesy

Would it make things work better to put a 1 day maturity in for say 30 days? Same interest rate, just faster maturity to get the block chain rolling. I'm not even close to good enough at code to know if this is doable or worthwhile, but there it is.

Yeah I would just have to modify the stake modifier interval, but this requires a hard fork. So going through the hassle of getting everyone to switch clients etc, etc.

Probably not worth it then. Got that out of my system Tongue
