Dev, you still here? Any news?

PressTab is very active.  This coins is only a few weeks old.

Do you have any specific questions or issues? What news are you looking for?
News regarding new features being implemented, or any stuff related to hyperstake really, since the price on coinswap is becoming very discouraging

If you want the skinny on what the devs are thinking, I strongly encourage you to join them on ##hyperstake @ freenode. Both spend a good amount of time there and often are talking about plans for features etc

PressTab is very active.

This might be the understatement of the year!

This post sums up why all this bullshit is a scam

Thanks guys.  The news is that I am working on inflation control. My current thoughts are to change the block target from 90 seconds to 180 seconds. That small sacrifice will cut inflation in half without giving up our 750% annual. Also I will probably bring down the max reward a bit to prevent abuse.

I am also looking through the coin control code trying to figure out the sending and adding a new part of the dialog that will allow you to select a block and split into into blocks of X, thus saving a bunch of time for everyone. Qt + wallet functions gets complicated real fast, so it isn't going to be an overnight change. I do welcome anyone to help me though by looking through the code.

I was told by one of my friends that is moving away that I can't "bitcoin" this weekend, so I may not be on as much as I want, but I do plan on getting a good day of work in on saturday.

And also about the price... we don't know what the price will end up being.  Is it high or low right now?? No way to know. What I do know is that I bought about 60k HYP yesterday for what I consider a steal of a price - 250-315 sats, and I sent it right to my wallet to compound.

There will be a new wallet out, I am thinking probably released on sunday. It will have some new features like buttons to scan your wallet for transactions and orphans that don't sync up with the block chain.  It also will have some other small changes such as showing the network stake weight on the minting icon even if you aren't minting, DNS seed for better connections, a new RPC command called "getmoneysupply" that allows you to type in a block number and get the money supply at that moment in time, and one or two other things that I will get done before releasing v1.0.3.

Community Update

Just a quick roundup before I also will be scarce for the weekend. For all newcomers, welcome!

There are some plans in the works to offset inflation before it gets out of hand. Any and all changes will be announced to the community
before we move forward so make sure to keep an eye on the thread for new developments and discussions.

However since there is a fork planned, it's less important to rush onto a large exchange until we are completely stable.
That said, do what you can to support the exchanges who were smart enough to pick HYP up in its early stages. Trade on
https://coin-swap.net/market/HYP/BTC and https://www.allcoin.com/trade/HYP_BTC to keep the volume fluid.

If you are on Twitter, help HYP get noticed. Tweet #hyperstake as well.

The irc is always open and it's usually raining HYP! Join us on freenode at ##hyperstake

Think what might be happening is people are seeing HYP as an opportunity to liquidate what they invested into the dying TRK without thinking about the long term benefits of holding HYP.  We could also be seeing the exchange dump their converted wallet's bag...  Hard to know for sure.

Looking forward to the next update!  Being able to see network stake when u aren't minting is great!  So annoying that you have to go to debug console for that info now.

Bittrex confirmed that they won't do anything with their TRK wallet and that it will be destroyed. Whether you trust what they say on IRC is up to you.

I haven't kept up with TRK. what's the story? I kept my little bit of truck and it staked, but I've not even tried to follow what's going on. I only bought it to get HYP Cheesy

I think the community is currently organizing and getting things put together for a better managed coin.

Just an update to everyone. I am working on a roadmap that will detail the development goals for HyperStake over the long term and also give information about the coming fork to reign in inflation.  Hope to have the release out in a day.

Zeeman it sure is 750%. This would be the formula for 11 days: 7.5/365*11=22.6%

Maybe I'm not into this enough to get it. But when I stake Tekcoin I make about 40% each month. To calculate the yearly stake I use:

1000 coins:

after 1 month > 1400 coins.
after 2 months > 1.4 * 1400 = 1960 etc.

What about HyperStake? 22,6% after 11 days, so
aftyer 22 days there is some compounding isn't it??

1000 coins:

after 11 days > 1226
after 22 days > 1.226 * 1226 = 1503
after 33 days > 1.226 * 1503 = 1842,6
This is already 84% after 33 days.

After 12 months this numbers get's way above 750%
Or am I missing something?

HYP's 750% is annual rate, without compounding (that is, if you sold your stake just after they matured).
TEK's 500% per month is also non compounded. Compounded, it is around 5570%.
HYP's inflation control is about reducing compounding interest without changing the annual interest. All of these without disincentivizing people from securing the network. Granted, you would earn less HYP than TEK at the end, but what matters is not the amount of coins (or else, CENT would have succeeded) but the value of coins. This is this fine balance between reward, security and value that we are trying to achieve.

Monero: the first crytocurrency to bring bank secrecy and net neutrality to the blockchain.HyperStake: pushing the limits of staking.

No you aren't missing anything. Proof of Stake coins are quoted in annual percentage rate (APR) which doesn't take into account compounded. The effective annual percentage rate is the rate when taking into account compounding.

So this would mean HBN's APR is 100%, CAP 200%, etc.
