Heh..just picked up a 2nd knc Titan for 2.3btc with shipping ($567 usd) all dies/cubes work fine (relief)
..we will see how this works at 15c kwh and the 2nd batch of KNC titans coming out.....my home mining
endeavor could end quickly...the knc Jupiter you see in the pics is already a door stop...well 2 more to
go ..till I to will 'succumb" to the death of 'home mining' run the stuff to doorstop status while i can!

here is the whole thing....650mh 2 Titans (6 cubes on 2 corsair 1200i's and 2 cubes on 1 seasonic 860w all with Y adapters)

here is the link to all the images of my miners the complete setup below (got a bit out of control)

http://lostgonzo.imgur.com/

anyway at 15c kwh or $270 usd a month for the miners this will get 'interesting' real quick!
need a btc/ltc pop in price don't ya know

anyway wind this whole home miner thing up in style i guess (as a side note that is glass under that is 1/4"
plate glass from a desk the 6 miners are sitting on....have another from a dresser may put it under the 2
cube unit..looks nice...keeps it cool...and they 'are' so I've been told a fire hazard lol Smiley

silly hobby what?

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

So many turned-off miners everywhere. I don't understand why you people are not selling this turned-off hardware, there are places with some dirt-cheap electricity who will surely be interested, it's a shame all that hashing power to be off when it can be of use to the network. The electricity price and difficulty very, very likely will not go down enough for this hardware to be turned on again at their current locations, so selling is a gain for everyone, or I'm missing something?

Even if one had free power, potential profit would quite possibly be ruined by shipping costs of things that heavy.

direct link to all my stuff

http://lostgonzo.imgur.com/

the Oct knc Jupiter doorstop in question will go for about 100 bucks now on ebay on auction from what I can tell.

in that this unit made me about 51 btc...well for 100 bucks I'll keep it ...no the no refund no roi orig Titan from knc

that i may just take a sledgehammer to....as to the 2nd titan i got for 2.3btc we will see if i can maybe roi on (also doubtful)

in my defense as a newbie got the Jupiter oct 18th 2013 btc that day was exactly 150 usd...as to when i ordered a knc
Neptune (shoulda/coulda refunded) which i changed to a titan on the Neptune delay....the price the DEC 2nd 6 weeks later
was 1100 btc ....(i am amazed at my self restraint as a newbie at that point of not buying 3 Neptunes
20/20 hindsight ..it is a moot point no more home miners scrypt they are not even making commercial units of any note
anymore esp 300mh version scrypt asics...as to bitcoin..no home miners of any note here soon from what i can tell

gone the way of gpu's i guess

we will see how long I can postpone the above Titan's to doorstop fate......but again last of the home mining for me when
that comes to pass.....

but for 51btc i can lose 100 bucks and keep it (should prob send it to the bronzing company that bronze's baby shoes...heh
need a memento for the old folks home......shelf trophy

anyway my 2c worth

edited: for pics this is a pic forum i guess

Creating capacity is expensive and a farm with mixed old hardware is much of a bother.
If you already spend a lot of money on a transformer, cooling, power distribution, factory hall, etc. You want nice, new hardware.

not necessarily.

say you had a 100kW facility in 2014. Its likely filled now if you had cheap power.
in 2015 you build a second location that makes improvements over the first (evap cooling, 1MW, different power distribution method).
In 2016 it may be a new business altogether. I dont think we are far from 600V miners that ship in cooling tanks or modular pallets/containers designed for high-density, 0.1w/GH equipment

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

Going with 2x engine cooling fans from a local carparts warehouse.

14" 2200rpm 80watt 12V - 530cfm, so 1060cfm total.
70$ new for both so fairly cheap, hopefully that is enough and if not a third will be added for 1590cfm total.

I tried these fans in the GPU days in 2012.  They are extremely fucking loud and they get very hot.  I had to disconnect them after a few days because they smelled like burning.  I don't think they are meant to be run all the time.  I used gable fans from home dept instead.  2200CFM.
Car radiator-fans do not spin every second your engine is on, only if the engine gets a little pushed and warm.
They are simply not meant for this usage.

Btw, like these setups, but I still like the ghetto 100 GPU 5870 setups better hahaha...

It's nice to see that so many rigs have been posted. People tend to surprise others with unusual builds. The imagination is limitless. Sadly, I've stopped mining. That was a nice time indeed. Even without making a profit, it felt nice to do and was fun indeed.
Right now it's all on a industrial scale, before it was more like a hobby for people.

Probably a world record for hashing density.
Extremely low cost and effective deployment method. Behind the SP30s are huge fans.
