Anybody noticed the hot wall plug?
You should check out a run-of-the-mill vacuum or electric mower.. plugs can get a bit warm, nothing wrong with that.  Plus I'm not sure that's the plug rather than the meter on there.  And, of course, there's no scale Smiley

Yes, I know that, but you're right, there's no scale :p I'd wonder if it is hotter than a vacuum cleaner, as I myself, never run it more than 30 min.
But I had a soldering machine and I've melted some plugs back then!

Very nice flir image!  Not to often do we get to see those.
Thanks it's my new toy, iPhone Flir accessory for 200 bucks couldn't pass it up.
I hope there are at least 2 other fans on the other side of that radiator  Undecided
3 of the stock fans of course, wire harness had an fan extra plug so I used it.
Anybody noticed the hot wall plug?
The plug is really only a little warm. about 700 watts flowing there.

Here are a couple more I took just before I tore them down for ebay sales this week.

New prototype venting.

I'm liking the how effective it is.

Monday I'm moving two more rigs into the same style open frame cases, stacking them all, and making a
permanent and less craptastic manifold for the blower.

Most likely pretty loud, they are not really made to be quiet on this types of fan's.

You will more commonly find them used in duct work, and places where noise is not a issue.

Oh ok! Looking to find a way to exaust my heat from miners. The temps is getting high with the summer coming. My miners are in libingroom so I need a quiet setup if possible.  Tongue

Will keep searching

Sadly I'm doing the same thing.  I have learned more about fan's then i care to.

Here should be over 15K CFM when on high together.

Looking twords miners:

I am still looking at better exhaust methods.

Is there a fan in your gable vent?  If not it's more than enough due to the vacuum to buy a gable fan.  Could easily drop temps by 10 degrees.  Your roof inside isn't insulated, I bet it gets quite warm when your head is at that level.

Yes it's spinning at far away so it did not pick it up well.  But yes there is gable fan and vent's.

Heat is not a issue until you add miners in it.  That is what causes it to get hot.

It's a garage/work area below.   So very large area up above which is normally storage.   But I have turned it into some miners.

The intakes i'm using two windows to allow new air to come in.   Opposite end has a gable fan, which I plan on upgrading soon.  Roof of course has vents helping hot air escape.

2 knc Titan scrypt miners total hash 650.1mh .....

2nd Titan now used had it 2 months will ROI in 2.5 more months more or less....(that will roi unlike my first titan) got a very very good deal used.....

note the now unused doorstop knc jupiter 567gh asic miner on the second shelf holding the workbench down....

just running these last 2 to doorstop status till my home mining is done (home mining is dead unfortunately)

below is a link to all my pics on my setup

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Nice and clean setup.   Are the windows what your using to get rid of heat exhaust?

Thanks for sharing.

In hindsight I should have used the other room in front of the furnace....as it is as you can see I will have to put some gable fans in  with some plywood over the windows above......even a few sprinkles on the KNC kindergarten design would be bad......if I had put it in other room I just could have hung some fans with brackets in front of windows with a temp switch..would have been far enough away from the titan(s) to not worry about a few sprinkles getting in thru such an arrangement

again as it is will have to use something like this

http://www.amazon.com/Cool-Attic-CX1500-Power-Ventilator/dp/B000LNII4Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431173241&sr=8-1&keywords=gable+fans

take some 1 by 1 " wood and place it in the inside of the window recess it in 3/4" for the 3/4" plywood I will put in place....get the above gable fan hole cut in such
and mounted with the and then also have a shutter hood on the other side like this

again would leave this inside the outside insect screen...obviously the window inside with latches will have to come out but not a big deal

http://www.amazon.com/Broan-433-Automatic-Shutter-Ventilator/dp/B001E6DMEK/ref=pd_sim_hi_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0XQGY07K27PHAPSAZFYJ

to stop rain an  insects.... I have windows like below

I plan on mounting the arrangement inside the house and even with the plywood and the fan and the shutters....keep the outside screen as a further protection against insects

I think I can rig it not to blow the screen off ..although i MAY have to secure that better

so whatever .......it is ugly...but figure the insect screen and the shutter on the inside of the arrangement and the fact it is temp controlled should work fine for rain...

would prefer a rain hood on the outside too (metal)  like they have on green houses...but can't find one in the dimensions of a bit less then 36" by 24" the window is
would just prefer that from folk looking into my basement when the fan is running also ..just saying..notice my pull shades...

I could of course on the other side of the basement hang a fan or two like this from a latch bolt on the rafters in front of my similar windows w/o modification..just open the windows and turn them on to push air in should it be a really hot or dead wind day

would have been a better arrangement the bench in the other room...but as you can see my windows are too close to the kindergarten KNC titan arrangement ...not far enough away for
sprinkles etc..thus have to do the above for sealing the gable fan(s?) .....but these would work fine at the other end of the basement to push air...should I
feel the need and I can use these for other stuff when the home mining is all done .....(not sure wtf I can do with the gable fan.....no real need that I know of
in my finished attic)....

whatever its overkill ..but home mining is dead so the hast hurrah...and I am still making over 500 usd on this 650.1mh arrangement after electric ...so will run it
till they to are doorstops like the KNC Jupiter 567gh on the bottom shelf...

sheesh ..I gotta get a life...... Smiley
