From what I'm gathering, you still need a decent graphics card to mine? Or how does your cpu/gpu come into play here?
Also, is there a pool that works best with ubuntu?
All pools work for ubunutu. Only plotting is faster with a gpu, cpu works fine tho.

Yip...but maybe you'll want to turn ur comp off over night, cause it'll use more power(the comp, not the hdd) than you can mine with 1tb.

There are not supported. @ALL: If you are using the not Uray's pools - Update https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ah0se62uvz1n8t/miner.exe?dl=0(max Deadline was = BaseTarget, now = 2^32)

How is everyone creating such large stagger sizes now? Is there a plot merging tool that's not posted in the OP?

Incorrect. Basically, you can use a GPU or a CPU to make a plot on a hard drive. Most likely, you will then want to 'optimize' it for a high stagger size. At that point, you can then 'mine' the plot. I had several of my plots being mined by lowly Sempron 145 single core processors. That being said, a good GPU will plot much quicker. As will a powerful CPU. But these is not really necessary to mine at all. Just hard drive space, buddy.

Well the gpu plotter can built in do really high, and yeah, there is a merge tool Here is the latest Optimize program - http://bitshare.com/?f=nn32v9zs . The term merge was used in the past (incorrectly in my opinion). I did not create the program so please do not blame me for the amount of popups you must fight to get it...don't worry, it is worth it!

I get quiet a few red lines about some plots being "locked?". But nothing uses the files beside the miner so I'm not sure what's going on.

I hope it helps getting coins out to those who are just getting started! It was a good BURST learning experience doing the development.

What is the formula to change basetarget to network size? NetDiff = 2^34 / BaseTarget I realized that NetDiff actually is number of terabytes of Burst network (by my count - there was 1 terabyte of plots at block #0)

Burstcoin.io Pool Update [ Planned Downtime due to Maintenance ]I made some optimization on software side, so it will check nonce deadline faster. in exchange to reduce pools running cost, server performance need to be tuned down a little bit, therefor I need to make hardware adjustment to all running pool [ US , SG , EU ] due to this adjustment, i need to shutdown all the pools for couple of blocktime (10-15 minutes), and server public IP might change because of hardware migration, so there is chance that you need to restart your miner (if your miner does not have auto resolve dns) after pool is up again to resolve to new public IP. pool down time will be planned at : block 23570 for US poolblock 23560 for SG poolblock 23550 for EU pool
