Magi (XMG) Proof of Interest II will start on 01-08-2015 Magi will post the rules for this new awesome campaign soon. There will be more time to register for this Proof of Interest campaign. This is great news! I will remake the First PoI site according to the rules, so we will have more statistical info about the second campaign. I'm sure that the second PoI campaign to be even more successfull than the first one!

Thanks!

So I compiled GMP using homebrew and then compiled wolf cpu miner again and it went through but it says there was an error? http://imgur.com/po6942bNot sure what its asking for with this. I found the same bug when compiling for Windows i.e. -fuse-linker-plugin flag should not be there because it is not valid in the context used. I used a text editor to remove the string from the Makefiles (four files in all) manually. This was done after running configure and before running make. You should get a successful compile after that. Edit: Once you have got a successful compile to go through, there is a lot you can do to make the minerd executable run faster. It does mean some extra work and editing makefiles directly which is not for the faint-hearted, but it is worth the effort. Let me know when you are ready

How much would I make (about) a day with a 3.3GHz CPU?
It is not possible to state how much you might make in a day due to the variability of the XMG block rewards. I can estimate the hashrate you would obtain with that CPU if you give me the exact model number - the clock speed is not enough info to go on.

If they are similar to the First PoI ( http://bitcoingarden.tk/forum/index.php?topic=3265.0 ), then it doesn't matter with what balance you start, as long you are not with decrease from your initial balance more than 20% The interest to the first campaign was paid, based on the final balances at the end of campaign, as long as they obey the 20% decrease rule. Maybe the Second PoI will be different, we will know as soon as the Official Rules become public.

Your biggest problem is heat dissipation and Haswell chips are notorious for problems in that area. Make sure the CPU cooler is adequate for the job, free of dust and fluff and fan(s) are in good working order.

And it only has 1 core of that.

where can I find an api current block reward value on the web ?
I don't have a local XMG wallet on each linux box.
Sent you PM with tech specs Can I have it too? I recall that NeedIfFindIt post somewhere his URL to get JSON from wallet, but it seems that I can't find it. Hi all, you can try something like #!/bin/bash value=2 content=$(curl -L http://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/api.dws?q=getdifficulty) if [ $(perl -e "($content >= $value) ? print 1 : print 0") -eq 1 ] then echo "Is greater 2" echo $content else echo "Is smaller 2" echo $content fi Where the if else function will trigger script 1 or script 2 (here echo). excelent...it works Thank you very much Hi, good to know that it is working! Write me a PM if you need further help. Cheers!

If that CPU is already paid for and doing nothing else, you might as well use it for mining. If you were thinking of spending, I would look for a better deal but it rather depends on how much time the $2.50 pays for. If it costs that much per day, imho you can forget it as being uneconomical and the money would be better spent simply buying XMG on the exchanges. $2.50 will buy around 150 XMG right now and you could not hope to mine that much in a week with only 22.5 Kh/s.

It's $2.50 a month. It really depends on what the block rewards are over the month period, but for $2.50 a month I think its worth doing an experiment and seeing how many coins you get. Worst case is you are out $2.50 and have a few magi. I would say do it for the sake of science

Does it matter with what amount you start or its just how much do you gain during POI period? Example: 1 - I start with 10 XMG in my wallet, at the end of POI I finish with 500 XMG (gained 490 XMG) 2 - I start with 5000 XMG, at the end I have 5490 XMG (gained 490 XMG) Is the interes the same? Maybe the Second PoI will be different, we will know as soon as the Official Rules become public. Indeed Magi-team is working on the rules at the moment. Answer on the question from Z0n0 is: Yes the interest will be the same in %. example 1 will receive interest X% 500 XMG example 2 will receive interest x% 5490 XMG
