Hi,
New Magi miner here, I decided to look for a cpu only coin and generate a little extra heat in my house so am experimenting on SuchPool, seems to be working pretty good for me so far after reading a lot of how to's.
I am surprised that my older cpu (amd phenom) is basically the same speed as my new (amd fx) cpu, is that normal?
Firstly, welcome to the community.
What's hashrate you're getting, and which miners, windows/linux?
Thanks!
Here's what I'm using, quite the mix, all Windows and the XMGpoolminer 64bit without running any setup, just made simple batch files.
Windoz 10 preview netbook Pentium 2117U 1.8ghz 1 thread = 3.42khs (in a cold room).
Windoz 8.1 AMD FX 6350 4ghz, 3 threads = 15.3khs (pretty steady at 5k per thread while using this pc)
Windoz 7 AMD Phenom II x4 3.5ghz 1 thread = 5.54khs (this is actually faster than the FX cpu)
Windoz 7 Intel Quad 2.9ghz 2 threads = 8-10khs
I just found it interesting that a range of cpu's, current to 5 years old, are all performing very close to each other. Can't really include the netbook cpu since it's a much slower cpu but it's still doing ok.
The FX and Phenom are also mining multiple other algos simultaneously with bfgminer, cgminer, and sgminer, I'm literally using these to heat the rooms they are in
