I have a hunch that they will release the gui wallet sometime before Monero trading on AlphaBay begins on Sept 1.

Soon..

Well that might be icing on the cake as far as price rise.  Looking forward to the GUI myself.

Not happening before Sep 1.  I will ride the NYC subway naked if the GUI is released before Sept 1st

No you wont.

He is ofcourse lying about his mining and of how profitable mining is.  Mining was very profitable when price was halved. Now is super profitable. But for sure miners will join with time.

Do the math yourself idiot. A single GTX 800 hashes at 600H/s - that is .2 XMR per day

I have XMR loans out on Polo for 0.49% a day for 60 days. Should they be out for the full duration that'd be a 29.4% XMR return.

Doubt we'll see those rates soon again though. Got them in when the price were around 0.005 and the XMR loaning market were illiquid since people rather took margin with their XMR or wanted to be ready to sell their XMR when it was breaking out thinking it will be temporary. Whoever has my XMR now is trapped inside a horrific short position and seemingly unwilling to cut losses.

This is something for miners who do not care about trading to be aware of. Next time XMR breaks out be sure to check out the lending market instead of taking the 0.15%/day rates you have there now.

Grin  I've still got a couple 0.49's out there, but don't expect to run the duration. We touched that range again yesterday, but I was too slow to take advantage. Still, lending has been pretty good this week.  I've bought my own coins a few times  Cheesy

So you agree the GUI won't be released before Sept. 1

I was just thinking that I would certainly be arrested so you are correct there as well.  Didn't originally think because that's how slim of a possibility I think it is.

As for price speculation, even though those with skills far beyond mine are predicting significantly lower prices on the horizon I just don't see how that can happen.  Too much new interest and the dnms will not be a bust.

If you search for xmr you see the same data but by region it gets interesting - Canada is going hard for XMR.  Noticeable also that there's still not much interest from Europe or Australia - so big markets still to get on board.

Keep in mind there is a quadbike manufacturer called XMR, which is what the canadians are searching for.

Not happening. Too many issues still unresolved in github. Last I heard, the dev was going away traveling for a few days. So don't hold your breath.

I observe that weekends typically favor the coin-of-the-hour.  While XMR is more like the coin-of-the-century, for now it is also coin-of-the-hour, coincidentally.

I've noticed that too, especially when there's a bit of upward movement on Friday afternoon. And especially with XMR.

I am quite surprised that this little treasure didn't garner any comment.  A lot of people in China are getting their very first exposure to XMR.  This bit of editorial content was echoed on numerous web properties.

When I clicked the link I couldn't make sense of it.  It certainly doesn't look like Chinese.  This is what I presume is the headline looks like.

I think they are using the name of a Euro/Chinese market Ford, the "Mondeo" in that article.

But I don't know much about Chinese. Wink

Source title: "Dark Web" appears far more subtle new network currency Bitcoin

According to the Russian "Satellite News" August 24 reported that the "dark net" have found a new online currency Bitcoin over its concealment.

According to reports, the criminals "dark net" of anonymous currencies have been looking to engage in illegal and improper activities. It is reported that most people will buy and sell illegal drugs or other commodities used in Bitcoin "dark net".

Although Bitcoin can protect the privacy of criminals to some extent, but every Bitcoin is a transfer can be queried. Biggest drugs and other contraband commodities trading market Alphabay announced that they will be held September 1 date use Mondeo (Monero) as a transaction currency.

Unlike Mondeo Bitcoin, it can make every transaction can not query, and no one can find money to pay people. Bitcoin user's wallet is a single address, anyone can query all transactions, while Mondeo was every transaction generates a different address, only to master the query key personnel can see the transaction history.

Some experts believe the Mondeo more "secure." However, the popularity of the Mondeo range has not been expanded.

The use cases for XMR in China are even more compelling than in the U.S. and Europe.  Also note that this came to the quasi-state syndication system via Russian newswire.  Clearly there is Russian language media exposure as well.

I think it came out "Mondeo" because, with no direct translation, they had to phoneticize the word Monero.  Then of course the phoneticized rendering had to be rendered phonetically yet again, back into "English."
Kind of the way "pocket monsters" became Pokemon.
This is the perfect opportunity to create a jokey Mondeo meme.

...

Short term that chart looks quite bearish to me; however many long term investors and speculators will consider a short term correction bullish after the recent sharp rise.

Where do we need to draw the lines now for Aminorex's marketmaking?

I'd like

1.  a BitSquare.io node
2.  a market-making bot to (safely/dispassionately) manage a few 1000 XMR worth of buys and sells on the BitSquare

I believe that's the path towards fixing the potential single point of failure Polo dependency.

I am not in the game, but personally, I think anything under $4 is a steal.  Lucky if you get it.

In case you are talking about rpietila's recent posts, which I really enjoy btw, he is clearly talking his book.
