Look at the history of bitcoin price spikes for some clues. It could take eight months, could take 2 years. Also ... might never happen.

Monero hasn't reached the media stage yet.

I agree. One article on Bloomberg only is not considered media attention IMO. Also  Youtube has very little Monero vids.. Basically made by BitcoinMeister, the DisruptMeister, Adam Meister.

I also think it will go lower now. I tend to be wrong so I'm still trickle-buying.

I love this noob pseudochart, which is always adjusted to suite the illusions of the author. On ETH trader it has been posted again and again.

It's probably the most posted chart on bitcointalk, people here just love it for whatever reason.

Well its now happening that the support is eaten up.

When this is done and we fall below 136 the coin is done for the moment and it will crash far below 0.01 Sad

It's important to not lose perspective. We're still up a lot, and could easily fall to 0.01. I've made some predictions on #monero-markets. My first guess was we'd hit 0.013-0.014 (we hit 0.0144), but after trying (and failing) to break 0.02 again I've turned more bearish and my target is now to 0.008-0.01.

At 0.008 we're 70% down from the top, and that seems consistent with the way price has acted in other markets, e.g litecoin down 85% in first rally and 95% in second. ETH went down 60% first crash after it peaked. Bitcoin went down 93% in it's first rally.

In my opinion XMR will recover quicker, things are moving faster these days and there's a lot of good stuff coming. GUI coming out could cause a spike up, though I still think we're headed down to those lower levels once the excitement from it wears off.

I've already revealed this on #monero-markets so it's nothing new, but I have sold ~94% of my XMR during this rally.

Lol at what amount of XMR do you have to say approximately 94% of your stash, rather than approximately 95%? When does that approximately 1% make a significant difference? 10k? 100k? More?

The good thing about these dumps is that now it is a great opportunity to withdraw more Moneros from Poloniex in 24 hrs. I highly recommend doing so (probably when we start pumping from these levels we never be visiting at low teens anymore until one order of magnitude higher - do not quote on me that though because you never know what can happen in crypto).

Welp... lookin' at the long-view chart, suppose he put in just one bitcoin 'way back when a bitcoin cost about $350.

That'd get ya about 500 XMR back then when they were in the 70-cents range ($0.7 x 500)

And now 500 XMR re-valued in $10-15 range at this big run-up is worth about $5000 to $7500 (IF he sold at "peak-ish" and not today LOL)

Keeping 6% of the whole 500 XMR stash would mean HODL'ing only 30 Moneroj ... and at about $12 each, that'd be... $360.

So, what I think he's sayin' here is he took out all the PROFIT and now just letting the original buy-in run, come hell or high water.

(This is just a guess of course LOL and it's not the way I'd choose to handle it... I'm gonna just simply HODL on to everything and not try to "time the market" at all, as I'd hate to get it WRONG and be sitting empty handed if/when the next 10X run takes off in earnest...)

First Monero millionaire? I doubt it. While I don't know anyone that has admitted holding more, I know people who has similar amounts and there are people I suspect may hold even 300k+. I really doubt I was the biggest holder.

But I haven't heard of anyone admitting they cashed out so many. You can't count your bitcoins before your monero hatch, so to speak.

Back on topic, looks like alts drooping mostly across the board last few days. Bitcoin increase coming soon?

I sold over 15k XMR about a month before the halvening, due to feeling over-exposed.  Made some Fiat on the rise, but still super face palming myself over that one. Timing is everything, but coulda woulda shoulda doesn't really even matter.  Roll Eyes

Edit - Luckily, I managed to save some, hence I am still here enjoying the ride and (still) doing quite well. Grin

Has anyone done investigation into Monero usage on the DNMs? It's been about a month since they've added it. How has it been received?
