> The Monero devs have committed to keeping the same general structure for the PoW algorithm Not sure where he got that idea but it isn't true at all. I was wondering that as well but figured it was stupid to do let alone comment on so thanks for pointing that out. Yes, thanks for pointing that out smooth, hopefully the author will correct that, what would be a better way to more accurately describe the monero devs position on the PoW algorithm in regards to asic countermeasures?

I think it's a better than 50/50 proposition. I know Bitcoin is getting dumped a bit at the moment, but I expect BTC to end the year comfortably over $10k, which would mean XMR basically just needs to maintain current ratio.

Yeah, I agree with this, it's a good time to accumulate for the fall when I think the floor will rise significantly.

There was a stated plan to make minor tweaks every six months but that is not any sort of 'commitment' to stick with the same plan for any particular period of time (and indeed few if anyone considers it a good plan to follow forever). If it turns out that it looks like there is something better to be done than the plan can (and probably will) be changed.

I don't know how monero isn't at a higher marketcap by now. It's honestly one of the most valuable coins in existence with a seriously solid use.

Maybe you just answered your own question? Maybe people like flashy insubstantial hype driven projects more? Either way I don't know how to tell which premined hypecoin is the better or the worse, so I'll just stick to putting my money into solid fundamentals. It seems to work well for me over longer time scales.

I don't really trade much anymore, I used to margin as it was fun but polo boned me one to many times and I don't trust Bitfinex and Kraken is in USD only and won't take my CC casue I'm not in the right country apparently. So all I usually do now is get BTC and buy XMR with it and try to hit the lows. I use polo until they demand KYC (I'm small potatoes) and Binance now and am looking forward to their decentralized Exchange.

Another bot lifting quotes (Heuristic this time, I think)... I think it is worth trying to report to forum mods, I will try it. Might get some bots deleted... I PM'd Hilariousandco, I know TPTB here do block and ban for plagiarism, not sure what is the bot policy.

He suggested I just report them to the local Mod for passing on - so I don't think they've actually got a system in place yet. It is starting to be needed, but my real fear is that as the tech gets better it will be hellish - but they will have already let the bots in. At the moment it's a post every couple of pages, soon every few posts... Eventually you will strain your eyes wondering which post (if any) is written by a carbon-based life-form!

That's funny, me too! Damn, didn't get confirmations fast enough. Oh well I'm sure it will be at that spot again. They need a mod specifically to search for bots from reports, I've checked post history and it's pretty straight forward if it's a bot or not. I found one that I trhink had changed the post to make another poster look like it was a bot. The noise ratio is hurting this site alot. This the only reason to have the power to mob rule a post away. I have been reporting them. I hope they find a common formula or something that gives away the posts.

Downvoted that the pricks! That's giving everyone a spam bot, shit. And those retards are clapping. Might be fun to setup a bunch of them to spam Google. Back in the day when telemarketers were first an issue I used to put the police phone number all the online forms and they got so fed up from being on those lists they took care of the spammers.

We can't become irrelevant if the machines depend on us (our attention, our money). Like a parasite, they can't survive without a host. So either we stop caring what is or isn't real (should we care?), or we leave the island altogether. An island of robots benefits no one.

Price changed that much in 2 weeks so many times in past. Is silly to think that suddenly will not do it anymore.
