My occupation answer = retired
How do I get coins = purchase
result = 2000 instant buy from 1000
I use to have a 50,000 sell limit.
They ended that in Jan.
I have a 10,000 sell limit.

I was asked the same questions by Coinbase (iirc, something about my source of income; if I primarily use Coinbase to buy or sell bitcoin; maybe something vague about my occupation). It seemed more like a survey than an audit so I wasn't alarmed. My guess is that it may have something to do with tax season as these questionnaires have been going around for the past month, or perhaps that's just coincidence.
I got the tax email back in January but this time around it was more like a survey. The part that bugged me was they way they did it. I did a small sell to send $100 to my bank account and up popped a window basically saying you can't complete this transaction until you ask some questions (similar to above). After I answered the questions, it allowed me to continue with the transaction.

CEX.io is not providing services for people who live in Alabama... Can't be verified
Now that is interesting. Why Alabama, I wonder? I'm in Hawaii, and had no problem...other than proving my residence (I rent, and the utilities are included in the rent...they finally accepted my cable bill when I dug up a street address for it). Having been a bank cop back in the day, I can say with certainty that the questions re "where's it coming from" have to do with money laundering and terrorism. They're trying very hard to not engage with that element, although logistically it's impossible to keep them out (of your exchange). BTC itself is anonymous, etc., but banking isn't, and they're making sure they don't get shut down for being accessories...IMHO.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

Some states allow stuff like this and some don't...my state of Virginia won't allow a bunch of these type of sites either.

Cex said they haven't obtained a license for Alabama yet. Sounds like they just haven't gotten to Alabama yet. I understand Circle wanting to keep the bad guys out, I just wish the would do a permanent this guys good flag on the account. I seemed to be unlocked on Circle now. We just got another another block so holding speed is paying off:) You can't beat a growing kano

That's more understandable. I've run into two banks here that think btc is the devil incarnate; but two others are embracing it and doing what they can to integrate it into their function. They know they can make money on it if they don't fight it...and they also know they can't kill it, so they may as well join it. Being with ckpool has given me a bit more optimism and energy to pursue the principle as well as the mining. BTW...having been on the enforcement end...there's no such thing as a "permanent this guy's good" flag...'cuz people change for all kinds of reasons, and sometimes in an instant...although such a flag would be exceedingly convenient.

Yeah your right, it would be great but not sound on their end. Maybe a no auto shutdown only manual review with notation of previous explained use flag. LOL. I guess to many of those would need extra manpower.

No but you do not lose the average. The old one goes down and the new one goes up They average out over time Pretend you have a 100 th n avg with the old account See what happens over time Old 100 New 0 Old 90 New 10 Old 80 New 20 Old 70 New 30

So the reward remains the same, except some dust payments at the end of one, beginning of the other (maybe)
Thanks!
