I still ask myself how on other pool topics people are not seeing this, how are they still shitting about the rewards that they get. They say that antpool and slush is better!? I mean we should make donations to buy glasses for those guys I hear ya. It's all about perception. One thing I like about this pool, and this forum, is the diversity of thought process. Some of us have either been in IT or BTC or both (and some for a fair number of years lol) and can see such things pretty clearly, but others find the internal concepts exceedingly complex and confusing (ie., my partner the cleric). Looking at a graph with red lines on it and watching a threshold advance (although quite slowly at times) was more concrete. He was using a "supplied" value to compute avg daily rewards other than what the real data said it should be. He finally "got it" last night, and he's now on board. Mine on.

I mean we should make donations to buy glasses for those guys Sorry to contradict you. earning is just luck and I can not imagine here is more luck or less luck...in long time it is by principle every where the same. We have seen here good luck and bad luck. I think the difference to chose this pool or an other pool is not the earning because we do not know the "future luck". The difference is more the "style" of pool and the behavour of the pool owner.

The difference is more the "style" of pool and the behavour of the pool owner. Almost correct. There's an element of so called "Luck" that is not "Luck" All pools (here included) call the block finding rate "Luck" - but it isn't all uncontrollable "Luck" The controllable part is dealing with block changes, work distribution and block distribution (these lead to more lost blocks and orphans if not done well) kano.is and -ck's solo handling of this is exceptionally fast, and we also do full block verification and always include transactions when available. The 2 payouts have been sent 25min ago, just not confirmed yet. Yeah I was up a bit late last night dealing with servers and good and useless people in datacentres RUU is no more Too many problems with them and also we've been having general problems with the networks in Russia also. RUU points to DE and probably will stay that way for the foreseeable future. If anyone noticed, the thread title changed There's now a node in Japan jp.kano.is All 3 nodes (DE, SG, JP) are running very well, though still classified as 'testing', but there should be no problems with miners connecting and mining. Edit: they were confirmed about 4 minutes after I posted this For JP pool please can you confirm following URL is correct stratum+tcp://jp.kano.is:3333 Thanks

Unscheduled update alert. I need to do a couple of restarts to deal with a ram issue with bitcoin. It will be both a ckpool and a ckdb restart.
The ckpool restart will be the usual takes only a few seconds and will only have a small % of failovers. That will happen immediately after this post. Sorry for the lack of warning, but had a severe issue arise and want to avoid letting it affect any mining. No mining has been affected yet and this restart will ensure that.
There will be a ckdb restart shortly after also. I'll post back details once it's all done.

Kano,
the account settings, can they be setup to use 2FA only if a payout address is changed, instead of even login?
I like to see my stats with a quick and easy login, but wouldn't mind the extra security of 2FA if someone were to hack my account and attempt to change the payout address.
TY
I guess I could add to the (dreaded) todo list an option to ignore 2FA security ONLY on login. If you want 2FA, then it's there for ANY changes to the account, not just some changes. Having on/off changes in the rules for different things usually ends up making loop holes that someone somewhere will find a way around. I guess it could be an option on the 2FA page, AFTER you've setup 2FA, that could be changed with your 2FA, to (only) allow login without it. Yeah, I think that's better. We all still want the quick login to check out stats but better security for the important stuff. Thanks home spice.

OK all done and actually was a very clean restart on the main server. Total users that didn't reconnect was 5 out of about 580. The pool hash rate was pretty consistent before and after - showing 11.6PH just before and soon after the restart. ckdb restart went smoothly also but took 16 minutes total. All good, and problems averted before they could happen.

Are you downsizing Phil or is this from the group buy? Because I'd be insulted if you didn't offer to sell me any of your gear. Got a batch 9 from Antminer on the way. I hope this weather doesn't delay it. We got about six inches of snow here so far.

The pool has surpassed Eligius now.... I love how you get virgin coins from that pool, but they seem to be having consistently poor "luck"... Been using it as my backup but think I need to change it.. As the payment queue keeps growing. Kano if there was a way for you to include some virgin coins into your payment system that would be wonderful. Option to have two addresses like an optional one for virgin. . If only one both payments go to the same. Just a thought....

I am of the opinion that luck is the residue of design. Kano's pool should have 101 % luck not 100% Put the fees into the mix and you can tack on 1% So that is about 102% And what is Kano's fee

But they still come out of a wallet. Eligius they come out of the most recent block payment... Never touch a wallet but yours. Like the solo pool.
