All who are new to mining, new to the pool and new to the blockchain will find the following video quite educational. Andreas got into explanations about SHA256, the blockchain, what goes on in a "race" when blocks are found by competing miners, the importance of low latency, etc... I thought it was educational and others new to mining here on the pool will find it educational as well. If I'm out of line for posting the link in this forum, my feelings will not be hurt in any way if the moderator decides it needs to be deleted. Consensus Algorithms, Blockchain Technology and Bitcoin UCL - by Andreas M. Antonopouloshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw3WkySh_HoIn the 35th minute of the video - Andreas talks about that "race condition".... very useful information and I now better understand forks and orphans... Heh, he's wrong about why the April-2015 fork happened. The problem was the SPV pools weren't even checking the block header properly, let alone ignoring checking the transactions. BTC-Nuggets generated (twice) a V2 block header that the SPV mining pools mined on top of, after the point when V2 headers were no longer valid. Had they checked the transactions in the V2 BTC-Nuggets blocks, they would have found them all OK. I was wondering if all that he was saying was actually accurate information. Thanks for clarifying, Kano.

my miners went offline for a bit, now they are back up, plus my rented hash is connected with no issues as well. Hope this helps.

My kano.is miners failed over briefly. Main cksolo was down, too, so they failed over to german solo, but now all appears to be back to normal operations.
Block on!

Check here http://internethealthreport.com/and https://www.internetweathermap.com/and if you have mtr on your system (eg linux) try mtr --report -w kano.is As far as I can see both pools are working fine.

pool seems okay, my user stats are not available. But there seems to be some ddos attacks going on, perhaps not to the pool but overall internet connectivity... http://map.norsecorp.com/#/

All finally OK again now. Restarting CKDB caused memory problems for ckpool and trying to keep the two in balance without shutting everything down caused a lot of disconnects for people - sorry about that. The ckdb restart process itself ensures that I know if any data is lost or missing, there's sequence numbers for all data from ckpool and thus I know with the last restart (yes there were multiple restarts in there) that all is OK now. Web site is of course all caught back up and all good now.

One of my S7s did not come back after the last disconnect. I had to power cycle it remotely via PDU. Weird...
Yet another reason to have a PDU if your miners are remote (mine are at a data center).

Pdu's save me a lot of grief at the datacenter. Ever since I put my s7's on manual fan they don't crash.

And as expected, after restart/attack we get BLOCK!! How about another? (block I mean, not restart and/or attack!!)

That is scary! Every time we have a restart, DDOS attack etc, we get a block within an hour of being backup!
That is Voodoo magic!
