Every time Kano luck goes up, people price the crap out of rentals without using common sense over 10-30% of market rate. Keep in mind the rental hash rate takes time to ramp up, so if today is good, doesn't mean you're getting the big money. It takes time to fully ramp up which is more than a day later and luck could be worst. Play it smart and spread out, keep your prices low if you want to have more wiggle room and have higher chance for profit. We don't always have sunny days.
I aint complaining as it's pushing PPS rate up so high, making my PPS failover so much more profitable. But of course I rather keep my hash rate at Kanos and continue growing this pool.

Well hopefully I'm not one of your problem causing renters. I always try to keep my rentals below 0.0039 had some days had low as 0.0033, swapping rentals between US and Euro rents, now on the sixth day with a pretty constant rent of about 30TH. managed to get the red line on the shift performance graph to 33TH, since I only have 6TH of hardware I would say I am pretty much ramped up, and not just jumping in with a big rent at the first sight of some good luck. Its working out for me,andit bangs another 30TH onto the total Kano PH,so all is good.

Sorry for being off topic.
Where does one go to find the Bitcoin price on a give day for tax purposes?
blockchain info will give you the value of the transaction the day it was made and bitcoinwisdom has charts that go back about 2 years. https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/coinbase/btcusdPhil, That's a huge help. Can't believe I hadn't noticed that long ago. Thanks Sam

its my fault. rented 100th for the day. and as soon as my rental started the coins dried up. seems everytime i try to cash in on block friday it fails. no more rentals for me for now.
It would be too late anyways. If you rented 100TH today, it wont' go in effect for almost 2 days anyways. it started right away. ran for 6 hrs. That's not how 5nd works. You wouldn't get the full 100TH payment until the 5nd is reached. never it was. I know how 5nd works. but it would be nice to hit a block while renting the higher hash to subconsciously think it helped. Plus who doesn't the joy of seeing that rented power help the pool crack those blocks faster.

The past 3 days rentals have been around .0039/.0040 (sometimes as low as .0035). So kinda hard not to come out on top unless you rent for just an hour or two and it happens during a 300% block.

What hurts the prices is when 'somebody' rents like 3-4PH and raises up the prices, throws the profitability off for everyone (including themselves) and hoses the pool luck also.

The past 3 days rentals have been around .0039/.0040 (sometimes as low as .0035). So kinda hard not to come out on top unless you rent for just an hour or two and it happens during a 300% block. Let's not always use best case scenario as we've had amazing luck today but not everyday is so sunny. Just compare to yesterday's number and you know things could be in the reverse. I don't even bother with the 30 days average as that could have higher averages from the 1-2 or up to 3 network difficulty jumps included. So if you're renting short term and hit your 5ND during this time, it will hurt and wipe out a lot of your money if you're doing big PH rental short term. Now if your average price is low, you can ride out most storm while providing the pool with much higher stability then hit and runs. Usually the 5-7 days are better average but when you're renting at 10-20%, I'm seeing people paying .038-041 right now, you aint leaving much wiggle room and Kano got to be on full tilt everyday to make it worth while since you got NH fees on top. Date Total Payout Average Hashrate TH/s Average BTC/TH/s/Day 3 Day Average 2016-02-11 49.96426137 23,529 0.00224058 0.00311685 0.00304066 Also don't get me wrong. I love renters, especially people who pay crazy premium as I benefit the most from that. I've seen days where we get over 30-60% over market rate for 2-8hrs and that's awesome. But also don't want to take away that from our pool as it price many of our smaller renters or contributors who adds some hashing for fun or while their machines are offline.

How exactly do you think they're "hosing the pool luck?" Well. Everytime there is a huge rental the pool luck and blocks go down. Not scientific but it is what it is.

How exactly do you think they're "hosing the pool luck?" Hi thedreamer, I don't think any rent hash can ever 'hose the pool luck', for any pool receiving any rented hash is good hash, at any price that a person paid for it. When someone rents lots of short term TH at a higher price it does suck the life out of all the other peoples lower priced live rentals, like now, my own 0.0036 rental just started to dry up, as the miners that were filling the small rental all shifted onto someone else ,who is currently offering 0.0039 for 6.3PH of rental Hash, so all those people like me who are now running dry, if they even notice, will probably end up offering higher btc to get the hash back, and that runs the rental price up making it tougher to keep the mentioned "wiggle room" Maybe what your seeing as bad pool luck,is that all the people renting at the smaller rentals are actually the more sensible kano miners so that a short term high value, high PH rent stalls a whole load lot of smaller but sensible priced kano.is renting I accept that to make it work renting, Kano.is would need to have and keep the same good luck, and I have found that the slower days hurt, but with the pool at the higher recent total PH, the slow blocks are still quicker, we got to 250% and 300% on recent tougher blocks in single day or just over, rather than the 3 or 4+ days it took when the pool was hovering at 2PH to 3PH. amazing how just a few weeks have seen the pool speed up One or two more in the next 30 min's of today would be good, make it a 10 block day Steve

I missed the guy who rent 9PH at .0062 a while ago. That was so awesome!
P.S Agreed, it's much more exciting and fun now that the Pool is over 20PH and we're getting faster action vs before where we would have to wait 1 or 2 days for a block.
