My stats posts, which are supposed to have nothing to do with that , are about the fact that a particular firmware, S9v1 has REALLY bad luck on the pool. To the point where it is unlikely to just be "bad luck" Does bitmain know about the bad luck of the S9v1 on this pool? I don't need it but I can certainly understand why some people need the manual frequency. I'm not saying it would ever happen but if enough people complained.(with the bad luck numbers) Maybe they would release a fw v2 with manual frequency. Well I've told a BitmainWarranty guy who lives in the #ckpool IRC channel - he sees me regularly say the bad luck figures for quite a while However, in the past any contact with BitmainWarranty has often not got to Bitmain in China or China just ignores it ... I have on a few rare occasions spoken to someone in Bitmain China but I'm not fond of them and no doubt they feel the same way about me Interesting comment today ... someone with over 100 S9 (something like 120 I think) said he gets 8 repaired ... each month ... I asked the BitmainWarranty guy how many they repair each week. Apparently he couldn't answer that Interesting. Are they over clocked? Are they exausting the heat properly? Is this at a place that hosts? Or in their basement? Any power surges? Are they using two psu on one miner? If so are they connecting them properly? Lulz you prolly don't even know that about your own miners. I do know his numbers are correct coz he has mined on the pool ... He doesn't mess with the miners. If you don't connect your miners properly, they don't work or die very quickly I doubt anyone has 120 or so S9 miners in their basement ... don't ask silly questions. Apparently losing internet is possible to cause the S9 to fail also (according to Bitmain)

Are these different miners each time or the same equipment failing?

Heck. I don't even like Bitmain that much. I really don't care about what happens to the company. I only use the miners because they make the most money. As soon as bitfury gets their heads out of their ass's. I'll buy from them. If the A7 was any where close to being comparable. I would buy from them. I only care about making the most amount of money so I can continue to grow my mining business.
Yep that's pretty reasonable My stats posts, which are supposed to have nothing to do with that , are about the fact that a particular firmware, S9v1 has REALLY bad luck on the pool. To the point where it is unlikely to just be "bad luck" The S9v2 so far has been good (above expected luck), but like the A7, not a lot of data yet. The new firmware from bitmain S9 or R4 seem to take a post 10mins before staring to hash. As any of you wonder what happen during these 10mins? Can it be possible that the miner warm up hashing somewhere for bitmain ? Its only 10mins but multiply by x it can be substantial

Its only 10mins but multiply by x it can be substantial The A7 did that also, but my minor fix to the cron timing made it a lot shorter. It may be related? Also, the A7 is normally quite slow to get up to full speed to avoid overrunning the 16nm chip limits - maybe Bitmain thought that was a good idea also ... to reduce failures? If I had the answer to how many a week BitmainWarranty repairs, that would give a good idea of the amount of failures the S9 has. The fact that he "couldn't" tell me maybe also suggests something ... ... ...

Mining on S7 for almost 14 month and had less then 2% failing rate. A6 was more like 10% for the same period. Let see what these R4 do

My guess is that Canaan is doing a first-batch burn-in on the 741...

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)
