Ha, that's right, you cracked the 22.67 BTC "Christmas Eve Eve block" :-)

This one was technically a 40 minute block since any network transactions were confirmed, because the previous block was an empty AntPoo one...

So I am out in the country in Wisconsin with 140 acres of land, 12 pairs of fiber coming to my house (I currently have dedicated 50/50mb business service through ATT at a grand per month for my home business), a single phase 320kva transformer (in-ground wiring) with a 200A panel in my house and another mostly empty 200A panel in an "outhouse" that just protects the panel.  I was going to build a barn and needed to revise the budget when we built years ago. I have a small (20x40ft?) non insulated metal shed with concrete floor about 50 feet beyond that with a 60Amp panel that is mostly unused.  Super easy to get the full 200 Amps into that building.  My son grabbed about 10 full size server racks that he cannot give away (7.5 foot tall).  I had the thought of building a small building around my outhouse that was specifically designed for miners, but by the time I am done it probably would be 30k+.  So another option is to figure out how to retrofit the shed.  Obviously 200 amps will not do a ton of S9's, so no matter what, it is a small scale operation.  I also had the thought of putting up solar panels and we even have hills to put up a wind turbine - although we are only a couple miles from the interstate where planes follow, so probably some issues getting permits for a full size one.  Again, a big investment when mining may disappear in a couple years?  Anyway, if interested in discussing, feel free to PM me and I'll get you my contact info.  Or you email me through the minergain site links.

As a resident of The Cheddar Curtain, your specs don't match reality here, or North.

AT&T doesn't run "12 pairs of fiber coming to my house"...

Also, "a single phase 320kva transformer (in-ground wiring)" makes no sense, in a Electric Utility context for a Single Family Home.

THEN, there's "we even have hills to put up a wind turbine - although we are only a couple miles from the interstate where planes follow"...

WHAT do hills have to do with wind turbines and last I checked, as a pilot, we navigate using charts and coordinates, NOT by following "the interstate"?

Here's a thought. Put Solar Panels on your "140 acres of land", let your mining gear warm up the "non insulated shed" this Winter and MINE ON.

I laugh when I read this stuff.

Telco's put in 24 fibre becuase it is the smallest they have as a cable.  They treated it as commercial becuase it was not on a residential street with multiple houses.  The commerical ALWAYS gets 24 fibre, and they use 1.  The cost you wrote before 1000?  I think you getting robbed. I can get 150/150 symetrical for 100-125 cnd.

As for the SIZE of your transfromer...  it may be a 320 KVA   Is it a nice big green box about 4x4 feet? or is it a small round one and is probably 32.0 KVA?  Becuase  the 25 KVA one I have behind my house also powers about 12 homes.  Granted you said the guy asked for more power at that location, so it may be that big.

As for the wind turbine agruing going on that if planes follow the interstate... umm, well, not for IFR ( instrument flight rules) but for VFR ( Visual Flight rules) they may indeed use that as the VFR corridor.  They may in fact have zoning regulations if they are near an airport for max height.  I have one on my land titles, and the other DUMB one, Is there has to be a certain amount of insulation in the attic - to quiet down the sound of the planes.  So YES a tall turbine with blades that reach 500 feet above the ground and more than the surrounding ground level around the turbine may in fact be an issue....  it all comes down to if the guy giving the permit does his job and goes OH  flight path, and then does what he needs to do.

SO, yes, please do not argue points that you do not understand fully.  The OP just merley said that he had an oppurtunity and space to put in more miners.  Judging by the number of panels and service that may be there, I would think that it is mostly accurate, but doesnt warrnet an attack on him for what he posted,  just move to the next post..  arguing about if aircraft use roads as routes.... yes... they do, you will see this in mountain passes for VFR routes.  LEARN THEN COMPLAIN.
Thanks AerialGopher .  I almost deleted my response since it really does not matter at all since Bink blew any chance for help.  I always do my best to be honest and this rubbed me the wrong way.  Yes, it is a 4x4 green box that is about 3 feet tall (roughly).  Too cold (and it does not matter) to go out there.  Yes, I am paying $1k per month for 50mb symmetrical dedicated just about to Chicago.  I was running a T1 line for $350 a month though and havng a residential line run in was $50k+ up front install fees (ouch), so this is well worth it.  Plus I write it off.  Once my contract is up in a year, I'll bet there will be many other opportunities to reduce that cost.

Anyway, thanks again.

is 2FA not working.  new subscriber, verified email, setup 2FA via google authenticate.  Login, click to setup, generate barcode, scan, try to enter 6 digit code, click test, it fails ever time.  And yes I already sync'd my clock (it wasn't off)

Well I've no idea why sometimes people have trouble with Google Authenticator, but other times they don't,
but the main advantage of the one I list on the web site is you can also manually setup a 2FA if you know the "Secret Key"
It's all very clear about the settings it has but of course doesn't disclose the "Secret Key", and it's written by Red Hat so there's no trust issues Smiley

Yeah it is just a simple "point your phone at the QRCode on the screen" for normal use, but it's also possible to look at the settings and manually set it up.

Meanwhile Google Authenticator has been abandoned about 3 or 4 years ago Tongue
I'd suggested to use FreeOTP instead.
